Firstly, in the first republic the NPC got 134 seat, NCNC got 89 seat, AG got 73, while the other parties got 16. Don't blame the british for the failure of Azikwe, the South got like 162 seat in total and they can still at least bargain with the feudal north but Azikwe thought about betraying the south by aligning with the North. He believed the Igbos can dominate the illiterate North and that shows in the federal appointment at that time. Verict is that Azikwe is a coward and a snitch for even daring to ally with the north so please don't blame britain.

Just listen to yourself, "Some Igbos voted Shagari for Ekwueme", that means the Igbos chose to be the slaves to the north at the expense of the south right? Is that not what you always accuse Osibanjo of because he is a vice to BUhari. Even after all what the Igbo did at the expense of Pa Awolowo who is brilliant and competent to be the president at that time, the Yorubas swallow the pain and do not go about shouting Igbos are betrayal. Infact Awolowo will spend the rest of his life in the opposition. Awolowo never liked the North, infact he fought with Akintola for allying with the North if you follow the politics at that time keenly.

Again, the Igbos strucked in 1993, they voted Tofa, a northerner instead of their fellow southerner. While few Igbos voted Abiola in all sincerity, but the majority voted Tofa a fulani norther. Please what is MKO sin against the Igbos at that time. You might say because the vice of Tofa is an Igbo man, maybe that is what made the Igbos vote against MKO. My question is did you see the Yorubas chanting that the Igbos are betrayals or slaves to the north for opposing MKO? No, we fought on our own with NADECO, while the Igbos were protesting and supporting Abacha to spite the NADECO guys, the Yorubas had foresight and remained resolute till we sent the military packing.

The NADECO issue was what culminated to the issue of two Yorubas on the ballot. Also, Obasanjo contested with some guys in the PDP presidential primaries in 1999, he wasn't nominated unchallenged, that was a lie propagated by people without much knowledge. He emerged because the northerners favored him at that time in PDP.

Please do not bring Jonathan issue into this, in 2010 when Yar'adua died, the Yoruba activists under the banner of SNG were at the forefront in making sure he is confirmed as the president against the Northern cabals, which prominent Igbo man fought for him then?

The Yorubas loved Jonathan in 2011 so much that few people even started naming their new babies Goodluck coz we thought he has some sort of goodluck with him especially when we heard his story of always succeding his boss. in 2011 election, Jonathan won all the SW states except Osun state even with the fact that the SW is majorly ACN. We supported Jonathan and he marginalized the Yorubas by listening to the advise of the Igbos, infact they shamed the Afenifere elders ehen they met him in Aso Rock. There is a thread on Nairaland about that, you will see the innate hatred your fellow Igbo men spread in that thread against the Yorubas.

That was exactly why he was voted out coz he is too corrup coupled with the Boko Haram issue then, The best decision at that time was to vote out Jonathan coz everyone thought Buhari is the new messiah. Although it turned out that both Jonathan and Buhari are clueless.

Like I said, the Yorubas owes no one any allegiance, our allegiance is only to God. If the Igbos like they can come out in PDP for 2023, and they may as well support the fulanis as they always do, we will meet them at the poll. Whether the Yoruba will win or lose should be left to the real voters and not online urchins.

While you are right about the SE to be the next president, the current situation on ground does not favor an Igbo presidency in APC. Their only chance is in the PDP.

Let me tell you a fact, the Igbos have never supported a Yoruba cause since the inception of Nigeria independence.

Azikwe allied with the north in 1960 to emerge the ceremonial president when he can form a govt with Awolowo.

Ekwueme opt to be the vice to Shagari, when Awolowo a Yoruba was on the ballot in 1979, and the Igbo voted en masse for Shagari.

The Igbos voted Tofa in 1993 to spite Abiola a fellow southerner.

Also in 1999, Falae was Yoruba candidate but the Igbos voted Obasanjo a northern candidate to spite the Yorubas.

Let me ask you a question, what help has the Igbos ever done for the Yorubas before? Why should we be loyal to them ? Why should we decline to contest for presidency and support the Igbo man?

First,late Zik never alligned with any bloody north to become a ceremonial president,that election was orchestrated by the British who handed real power to the north. Forming any govt with Awo then would have incurred the wrath of the British government in power.

Some Igbos may have voted for shagari simply cos of Ekwueme but not all of them and it's on record that the late Abiola was actually the one who really betrayed Awo hence Awo placed a curse on him that someday, he would seek for same office but would be denied,don't tell me you ain't aware of this. That was in the 2nd tenure of late Shagari.

Some Igbos also voted for Tofa in 1993 cos of his Igbo vice but it's also on record that a good number equally voted for Abiola.

I wonder why you had to bring up Obj and Falae,two Yoruba people.
The north voted for Obj, Middle belt voted for Obj, SS voted for Obj,SE voted for Obj and Obj is a Yoruba man.
