PoliticsRe: Unbundling: NNPC Shuts Down Nationwide by greenguy: 11:05am On Mar 09, 2016
malton:
The way things are going, one might wake up one morning to discover that they've been locked indoor, with their rights taken, citing a successful sale of country. undecided.

Truth is, Mr president sometimes does things haphazardly and seldom behaves preposterously.

No clear template as to what direction(s) you intend going, then, without recourse to law or due consultations with stakeholders, you unbundle what's been bundled for years and expect those affected to not react? That's akin to stealing their rights, man. It's a government job, public purse runs the business... not some private enterprise!

Much as the unbundling seems good from where I'm standing, government policy should be consistent with a defined roadmap, and if at any point there's need for restructuring, due process be followed.
Due process such as....? Was it not mentioned from day one that there will be a major reform in NNPC. This is presidential system of government my friend... So what due process? Moreover, only processes are changing because no job will be lost.. So what due process?
RomanceRe: My Fiancee Said She Can't Support Her Husband! by greenguy: 8:46am On Mar 07, 2016
I bet you don't want to marry a woman who thinks that way, because one day she'll surely call you a lazy man and curse you in front of your children. Some people are fortunate enough not to have seen life from both sides and have the mindset that life is made to be perfect. Such people believe that others are poor because they are lazy, that successful people worked hard the most and she's better than her mates today because of the stricter and tougher upbringing she got from her mum. SMH. My friend, there's no acceptable excuse to this kind of person. Her perception of life is too shallow.

Give her a real life test and see for yourself if she can be your rock when the storms come - for surely, the storms will come!
BusinessRe: Devaluation: IMF Versus Buhari - Henry Boyo by greenguy: 1:32pm On Feb 29, 2016
obailala:
On the contrary, most (not all) of the vocal proponents of devaluation are just haters of the president who are hell bent on going the exact opposite way from whichever way PMB suggests.

In my opinion, I think it would be quite difficult to predict between devaluation vs non-devaluation, which would be best for Nigeria's present circumstances. As has been suggested by some good brains, a proper economic summit should be organised to brainstorm and debate on which way forward.
I concur.
BusinessRe: Devaluation: IMF Versus Buhari - Henry Boyo by greenguy: 12:47pm On Feb 29, 2016
Obviously, the disciples of devaluation of Naira don't mean well for the country and would plunge Nigeria into it's ruin for their selfish interest. We must support the president even in the face of current economic downturn #prayforNigeria

I was shocked and astonished myself to learn that FGN/CBN that does not have money to repair existing government refineries or build new ones, suddenly has all the dollar needed by an individual to build his private refinery. And this happening under Buhari's nose. Are they sleeping?

This country tire me oooooo.

Lalasticlala are you hearing this one?
...that is because PDP government made him so powerful.

AbdulSamad Isyaku Rabiu, Executive Chairman of BUA Group (Dangote's main business rival), took an unusual step of writing a full page article in Business Day of Monday, 22 Feb 2016 claiming that the current naira free-fall is caused by a few greedy people, or more to the point, a particular person.

BUA Group is into the business of manufacturing of cement, sugar refinery, flour, edible oils, pasta and rice cultivation.

Few days ago Dr Ifeanyi Ubah, CEO of Capital Oil took a rather unusual step of appearing on Channels TV on Sunday, 21/2/2016 to make a very bold claim that the current Naira slide is artificial, and is caused by a few individuals. He said that he "knows those behind the current foreign exchange crisis facing the nation and was ready to name them publicly".

He also staked his entire assets of N500b on his claim that he will expose the saboteurs, reverse the slide in 30 days and bring Naira back to 1$=N200. FG is yet to take up the offer. However, since these two

http://www.authorityngr.com/2016/02/N200-PER-DOLLAR-PROPOSAL--Ifeanyi-Ubah-stakes-N500bn-assets/

Abdulsamad Rabiu spoke on Sunday, 21/2/16. The very next day, Ifeanyi Ubah spoke in same vein on Monday, 22/2/16.
Are these mere coincidences? is anybody thinking what I am thinking? Is anybody in Buhari's govt and economic team getting the message?

Both Abdulsamad Rabiu and Ifeanyi Ubah are seriously supporting Federal Govt policy not to devalue the Naira, whilst a powerful business men are secretly nudging FG to agree with IMF and devalue the Naira. Why? Who is benefiting from all these mess?

More importantly, which powerful individual or corporate entities are Abdulsamad Rabiu and Ifeanyi Ubah referring to, and even threatening to name? Nigerians wake up and shine your eyes oooooo!! shocked shocked shocked

Meanwhile, in previous news, in January 2016 CBN Gov Emefiele visited Dangote's new refinery/petrochemical/fertilizer construction site at Lekki free trade zone and pledged that FGN will supply him all the dollars he needs for this private project at official rate of $1:N197, which is currently estimated at $10 billion. This represents 30% of our reserves. According to CBN, current Nigerian external reserves has dipped to $28 billion.

....and some still say Buhari is at fault, when past governments have so empowered few capitalists to the detriment of the nation. Today, we're at their mercy and in trouble because we have a government that wants equitable distribution of wealth.

They said dollar will get to N500 to a dollar, but they forgot Naija is still God's chosen people.

Why not, I believe you live in the new Aso Rock where domestic economy is booming and income increases by 300% in one year. Of course you have no clue about what the common Nigerian is experiencing right now. So you will talk crap about "doing fine" in the face of this worst economic downturn in our recent history as a nation. You will praise your god and his qausi agents even when the whole world knows they have zero economic policy but are busy squandering our foreign reserve on shadow chasing. But I am sure the stream will soon dry even at the rock, then you will understand the tune your fellow Nigerians are currently singing.
I'm just a hustling young man like you on the streets of Lagos so I know what real hardship is like. smiles. It's all going to turn out well. remember I said so. #istandwithbubu
BusinessRe: N200 Per Dollar Proposal: Ifeanyi Ubah Stakes N500bn Assets by greenguy: 8:38am On Feb 24, 2016
How Nigerians are so easily swayed?? Mr. Ubah has not performed any magic and has not been invited by the government of the day to provide any solution so why credit him with Naira recovery. The problem is that most of us are blinded with hatred for this government or exhausted our patience with government that we fail to get the message from the beginning - shun the dollar. I recently entered a PC shop and noticed how scanty the place was, on my enquiry, I was told they couldn't bring in more systems 'at this time' because they'll be too expensive. Our destiny lies in our hands. Stop the dollar craze. I still believe this government is the best thing to happen to Nigeria, especially now. Three years from now everyone will agree. #Pray for Nigeria #buynairatogrownaira
PoliticsRe: Murray-Bruce's Reaction To Buhari's Appointment Of Media Aides by greenguy: 9:19am On Feb 19, 2016
Mr. Bruce, this time, you have not made sense. Nigeria's economic team is doing fine, perhaps a little change is required. Nigeria is not alone in the current economic turbulence; we're better compared to some greater nations who have relied on oil too. It's a pity we are in a country full of educated illiterates. Mr. Bruce, seek not popularity, but seek to be useful - that's common sense.

Why do we have so many gullible youths in Nigeria? If we all want subsidy to be removed, then increment in fuel is a price we must pay. A temporary pain until we start refining a reasonable quantity of our produced crude. NLC should shut their trap and stop seeking ways to bring confusion to a land full of confusion. Our leaders are on the right path and don't need this distraction at all. I believe in a better Nigeria.

The problem with we Nigerians is that we always think western. We want to do things the civilized way but never realise civilization will always mean different things in the African and western context. This is the root of all our problems. Ambode should stop flexing muscle and let LASTMA do its job. Their style may be crude, but that is the level of our civilization.

It is saddening that young people who dream of a better Nigeria would try to pull down even this hope for change, change we have prayed for years. This may not be the change, but this government is giving us a vision of lost hopes. What if the change is real? I am not a politician, I am an igbo man who has not given up on Nigeria and will not allow selfish old men drag me into their dirty politics. I have voted, and will only appraise this government after four years. Who says we need ministers in the first place?

This man is a fool, it's bad enough that these have depleted far more than GEJ government met them, so he should keep quiet on economic matters when he lacks understanding on how to manage his personal finance.
I don’t like joining issue with my brothers and sisters back home, I sincerely get amused with the way we argue here, I think is high time we stopped arguing on sentiment if we really deserve change we all eager to see in our beloved country Nigeria. Earlier today I was in an African Restaurant just to have the feel of home again, and the issue of Buhari prop up, fellow Nigerian in the restaurant at the restaurant argued for and against Buhari for reason ranging from being a an Islamic bigot to being an ex coupist, nevertheless, all agreed that Buhari is not corrupt and fearless. To me these two attribute are all we need now at this point and time in our nation march to true democracy. With the mess already on ground, this is not the time to entrust Nigeria into the hand of a rookie president, who might have good intention but lack the experience to deal with a complex nation like Nigeria as it is currently. Sincerely speaking am holding forth for Buhari, but at this time, we need a person like him who has the experience and boldness to confront bourgeoisie who are milking our nation to the bone, since he is not part of them, we should put aside our religion belief and try for once to say no to those who are stealing our national wealth while pointing our attention to what divide us. We are the 99%, let for once say NO to the 1% who are instigating us against yourself for their selfish interest.
For record purposes, Neither Muritala Mohammed / Obasanjo nor Buhari/ IdiAgbon ever planned / carried out coup, they were invited to take over after the coup, IBB was the coupist. This is a fact that can be verified. Long live our Nation Nigeria and God bless our land
this is just a cheap blackmail and a propaganda to simply solicit pity. apparently, there's no limit to what this govt'll do to ensure they hold on to power. since our righteous govt have known part or 'major' sponsors of boko haram what have they done to bring them to book? nothing, instead they run to the media now and then crying foul.
