More of a technically sound player and carried more average team mates than lamps! Lamps played with some great players in their prime....terry, carvalo, zola, drogba, cech, makelele, cashley? Lamps was big game stevie g was pure talent featuring big game!

Stevie g was always their key man....stuck in an average team but still scored great goals, ran their midfield and dropped merciless passes and performances that led to solid victories! My view

Lamps might have had the luxury to play with a great supporting cast, but it wasn't just that that kept him in the team and also successful, it was his consistency, something Gerrard lacked.

I don't want to mention the number of times Steve had to slip to let the title slip, or the number of times he had to let his team down. All these were non-existent in Franky's game, he was consistent.
