You need to be able to raise 1.5M or get a sponsor to deposit 1.5M in ur account.

Test of english will cost btw 35K - 40K

You can write one out of TOEFL, IELTS and PTE Academic

Notarization of certificates will cost between 50 naira to 200 naira per page.

transcript cost varies per school

You also need to get an international passport if you don't have one already.

You need to send ur transcript and application package to the school..... i used DHL and it costs 13,400. So multiply that by the number of application you will like to send.

...So u need around 65K for pre admission cost for one program.

....After admission you will need the following
32K for insurance
67K to 72K for residence permit fees
9K to send ur docs to the finish embassy... i used DHL
other expenses....5K ( bank statement, scanning n printing cost)

....So u should b looking at around 110k for post admission cost.

In total budget around 170K for one program ex

cluding cost of obtaining transcripts from ur University and sending to d school of ur choice.


Please ensure u have a way of getting 1.5M in your account with d required support documentation.

From my knowledge Finnish instituitions won't be introducing tuition fees anytime soon. You should request ur uni to send ur transcript immediately the application period starts.

You might also want to consider Norway and Germany. Although Norway requires around 2.7M for ur upkeep for its RP processing while Germany will need you to deposit around 2M in a german bank.

What course are you looking to apply for in TUT and Aalto?
I will b attending TUT by August. Aalto was my first choice nut i was not offered a place...the course i applied for Industrial Engineering and Management requires a First class in bachelor's studies.

I hv read thru d thread and i v concluded plans to apply to aalto, TUT and LUT(if tuition fees nt introduced ). and to do a notary public in ikeja at N50 per copy. i v started preparation for ielts(bought study materials at british council, ikoyi) . application starts 1st December.

please, which month should i ask my school to send the transcript so as to get there by December considering delay and other factors and if Tuition fees is introduced, which country ll u suggest as plan B for me?

The Transcript can only be sent with the certified copy of ur BSc degree which can be certified by ur University.

To be on the safe side and to prevent rejection of your transcript, I will advise you leave the sending of your transcript to be done by your University.

Before you even talk about transcript you need to do the following.
1. Search on www.studyinfinland.fi for schools and MSc programs that are offered in English.
2. Select courses/schools that you will like to apply to.
3. Visit the university's website, review and understand the requirements.
4. Decide on the Test if English Language that you will sit for. Pick one out of IELTS, TOEFL or PTE Academic
5. Pass the Test of English Language.... Min score required for MSc application for IELTS is usually 6.5 and for PTE 54 or 62.
6. Get all necessary docs required for your application, notarized/certified certificates (BSc degree and WAEC), motivation letter, transcript etc.
7. Certificates can be notarized at any high court in the country.... did mine for 70 naira per copy at Ikeja High Court.
8.Wait for application period to commence and ensure that you send all required documents to the school or UAF (if UAF us in charge) in good time.

Go to d transcript office at your school they are experienced with sending of transcripts.

Yes, you need to send 1 transcript for every program u are applying to. Even if u are applying to same sch.

So five programs/courses, five transcripts.

Also ensure that d envelop in which d transcript is put into is properly sealed and d back flap is stamped properly by ur University .

If u have enough funds...send ur transcript using a courier service provider e.g DHL, UPS, etc.

If u are having some cash flow issues.... send ur documents on time using NIPOST REGISTERED MAIL OR EMS SPEEDPOST.

Aalto is not a member of UEF. Aalto is a top engineering and tech school in Finland, it is d biggest infact.

LUT is a very good engineering and tech sch in Finland too but Aalto is number 1 in engineering in Finland and it is super competitive.

Aalto is located in Espoo close to Helsinki metropoly so it should offer more job opportunities with a population of around 300 thousand peeps.

Lappenranta on d other end has a population of around 80 thousand...i hv no idea about job opportunities.

I will advise u apply to both schools and also TUT. TUT is d best alternative to Aalto in enginnering n tech courses.

These are my observations about both schs they might not b 100% correct.

I rode on such car in South Africa two weeks ago. it was designed by BMW n it was a free ride for all UNISA students. The car can be charged by either electricity in ur home or by battery. nothing like solar for this one

Hello Guys, I had HND in mech engr. and i just completed a B.Tech in South African University in same field. I am planning to start a Master program in either mechanical engr. or mechatronics. which of the university would u advice me to apply considering racism, job opportunity, zero tuition fee as well as low cost of living n will TOEFL b required b4 being granted admission haven obtained a degree from internation school?

Once again, I'm sorry for sharing the information late. This is my first time of applying for a Schengen visa.

I am a Nigerian studying IT program at an Asian University. All I did was: -

1.) Registered and paid for a conference (The conference is about IT and latest technologies in France)
2.) Requested that the organizer send me an invitation and a copy to the French embassy
3.) Collected letter from my school showing that they are aware of my travel plans
4.) Booked an insurance online for 35 EURO
5.) Booked for hotel reservation and airline (All online and free). Only a credit card is required to guarantee a hotel but nothing is charged
6.) Printed my bank statement via online bank portal (I generated 3 months record from my account online and printed it out)

I submitted all these documents to the French embassy and was told to come back after two weeks.

After the 10th day of submission, I received a call from the French consulate asking me to explain the purpose of my trip to France. I explained everything to him including my future plans (I told him the truth) and at the end of the conversation, he said he will send all the information to France for review. He also told me that he can not guarantee that the visa will be issued but I should come on the given date.

Four days later, I went to the embassy and was given my passport. I opened it and viola, I saw a Schengen visa on it. Was impressed because the whole process is so easy and I did almost everything online.

You can buy rands and also have some naira in your bank account.. Just note that rands is expensive now with bureau de change, compared with the official exchange rate in the banks.
If you bank with stanbic ibtc, you can open a rands account with them, and deposit your rands inside, they don't charge for withdrawing rands
