Kudos to the Federal Government, whatever PDP members want to call this, they can call it, But one thing is certain, they never had the moral to pay pensioners their entitlement.. |

The Federal Government on Monday announced that it had raised the sum of $177m out of the $1bn required for the cleanup of Ogoni land in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. It stated that refineries of crude oil were expected to raise the balance, adding that the $1bn was to be raised over a period of five years. The Minister of State for Environment, Ibrahim Jibril, disclosed this while playing host to the British Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, Laure Beaufils in Abuja. He said, “As I’m talking today, that (Ogoni cleanup) account has been credited with the sum of $177m. This is what is supposed to be given by the oil majors who are there and to pay for the cleaning and restoration of those degraded lands.” Jibril said an initial bill of $1bn was recommended to be used over a period of five years, adding that “with the $177m for 2018, the balance is expected to come from the refineries and we have written to inform the President, he (President) has given the directives that the petroleum ministry should handle that issue.” He also spoke on the devastating effect of climate change on Nigeria, adding that the ministry had to create a department to help tackle the challenges posed by the development. “The issue of climate change has been brought to bear in the southern part of this country, as can been seen in the constant erosion in some of those areas. That is why we have a full Technical Department of Erosion Control,” he said. The minister told his guest that in the northern part of Nigeria, “we have the problem of the Sahara desert in places like Borno and Yobe states.” https://www.abujafacts.ng/2018/10/09/federal-govt-raises-177million-for-ogoni-clean-up/ Mynd44 |
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President Ayuba Wabba has said the Federal Government would soon announce a new minimum wage as the Tripartite Committee had completed its assignment for onward submission to President Muhammadu Buhari. He stated this yesterday while briefing journalists in Abuja. Wabba said the committee has reconvened and deliberated on a new minimum wage figure that was acceptable to all employers of labour in the country. “I want to assure workers that all has been concluded and will be passed for signing within the week. “I also want to appreciate the Organised Private Sector, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria and Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA) for their resolve to pay the new minimum wage when it is signed into law,” he said. The NLC president, however, refused to disclose the figure arrived at by the Tripartite Committee. Wabba said the presidency would soon make it public after deliberation by the National Economic Council meeting. The organized labour had demanded N65,500 as new minimum wage for workers, while the private employers and some state governors were proposing N25,000. http://saharareporters.com/2018/10/09/fg-labour-agree-new-minimum-wage-%E2%80%94-wabba |

Truth be told, Atiku is not the man Nigerians need, his methods reduced governance to transaction, Atiku keep saying restructuring without telling Nigerians, how he is going about it, or does he want to jump the constitution in restructuring Nigeria.. |
Only in Nigeria minority will want to rule over the majority at both chambers of the National Assembly, And some persons will not see this act as detrimental to democracy. Saraki should do the right thing and let democracy prevail, like he has always said.. |
It is very simple, Kwakwanso does not have the national popularity, that he thinks he has, His supporters are more cling to Buhari than he thinks!!! |
Darazo does not even know what he is saying, That the seating governor of APC will support Atiku, and he is still saying that the seating governor should be replaced..Desperate news from, desperate elements just to discredit effort by the Governor to ensure Buhari wins Bauchi state... |
Themandator:Jonathan won in Taraba, stop spreading falshood |
Very fake news, spread by propagandist elements aim at derailing the effort of President Muhammadu Buhari led administration in ensuring good governance in the country.. |
VULCAN:Fine oh, how your own market, MC? |
If Saraki were in APC playing this kind of politic, heaven would have falling by now, PDP propaganda machines would have been everywhere in the cyber space shouting APC is enemy of Democracy. The way Saraki rigged the PDP governorship election in the state is legendary and this is the man that people think is a Democrat... |
the present administration is committed to ensuring that the importation of petroleum products is curtailed. kudos to the federal government for trying to curtailed the importation of petroleum products despite the shady deals going on to sabotage this effort.. |
This is how Ben Bruce focus on twitter and forgot that he is a senator that has constituency project to do. Ben Bruce should continue his obsession on Buhari, This are one of the reason his senatorial district do not want him back!!!! |
Even if Saraki finally step down for Atiku, Wike will still impose his preferred candidate on the party, Such imposition that Nigerians have known the PDP for is still what they want to do in 2018.How then can we still trust them with the National treasury!!! |
just hope its true |

BankeSmalls:Stay with PDP and be embarrass the way HUNKUYI was embarrass abi |
The PDP has still not change it ways from impunity, Dankwambo remain in PDP when the likes of Tambuwal, Saraki and Atiku all move to APC for their selfish interest. Yet PDP still want Dankwanbo to step down for Tambuwal. This is the reason the APC is better than PDP, because PDP has not change its ways!!!! |
The main scheme, he says, is to tamper with the delegates list.- PDP has not learn from their mistake, they still want to impose candidates on Nigerians. Later when APC thrash them on the General Election they will start spreading propaganda of hate and rigging when the faults is actually from them... |
Is this allegation base on obsession or just another propaganda by PDP ..Because i do not see a reason why APC will go to rivers to disrupt PDP presidential Primaries . The only disruption is PDP VS PDP!!! |
Omisore gave them his party manifestos but they did not come back to respond. This is a clear indication that the PDP shot itself on the leg!!! and they keep spreading rumors of rigging as if they did not contribute to their defeat.. |
Akeredolu Christian Sanwo-Olu Christian Fayemi Christian. I dont understand what some persons will stand to gain in using falsehood to divide the country along Religion lines. Sanwo-olu is a christian and from a christian Background. Dabo Abiodun is also a Christian. Nairaland mods need to do something about this before it will turn to something else.. |
This is a good sign that our democracy is growing and that the Ruling Party save other unscrupulous elements is ready to ensure the preservation of Democracy in Nigeria. |
Obasanjo can not keep dictating for the nation who will be president in every four years. That is why close associate of Obasanjo like Majekodunmi have decided to go back to the APC....The third force call is for his personal interest not for the interest of the nation... |
Hypocrisy at its peak, you not a Nigerian but you have benefited more than most people.. You not a Nigerian but 4 years ago, you were the one preaching one Nigeria and that Goodluck Jonathan must be returned for second term..Nigeria is one indivisible entity and PMB has shown commitment to this!!!! |
GSA01: |
If PDP like compel them to do blood oat!!! They will still ditch the party after somebody, someone will single handedly pick the party flag-bearer because of the convention holding in his state.. |
