most women who are saying ' there is no excuse for beating a woman,' though are speaking the truth, but we can still feel some sentimental element in what they are saying. These women are the ones that will tell you that beating a woman is an attempt to control. By saying so, they impress in your consciousness and in an aggressive way, an idea that men are insecure, unfair, wicked devils and beasts! And i agree with that! But my concern here is that these women tend to ignore the fact that women have violent tendencies. If na dem dey stronger than men, dem for dey do the same thing!

Women's violent tendencies can be seen all around us. In a quarrel with a man, they are the first to jack the man's shirt to his neck. They are the first to rain abuses. In many cases they are the first to hit the man and the first to destroy properties in the house.

However, i almost slapped a gal once if not for my friend who held my hand. Look, the gal was a coursemate and we were in a research group together. I collectd ovr analysis and submitted it to d supervisor after we had both worked on it. Seconds later she came back and demanded i return d work. I explaind that d prof had it and he had left his office. This gal, who i considered a good friend, clawed, screamed and pushed at me. I was still amazed when she dragged my shirt collar and dashd me a star-spangled slap. My gvy stopd my hand in midair and i realizd what i almost did. D gal ran out crying and told everyone that i beat her up! my friend had to explain that i didnt lay a finger on her cos everybody blivd her. I still dont know y she attackd me cos in the end we did well in the project.

that violence is inexcusable doesnt mean we shoulnt hear from both sides. People who live in the 'sane' societies, as they call it; a society that believes you are not guilty until proven so, are the ones rubishing the idea of a hearing from the other person. How ironic! i agree its not good to generalize. But some times whem i listen to many people's story, i find it difficult to pity them. I mean, these are people who can afford flight ticket. We all know how much it costs to buy an economic class ticket to most countries nigerians find themselves. If you have that kind of money,it means you are not poor! Why go to buy a flight ticket with the money to a place where you have not been offered a job? Why didnt you just reinvest that money into the business from where you got the money to pay for the flight ticket? That makes more sense than embarking on a journey you are not sure its outcome.

when i was growing up and i came to hear that word nigger for the first time, i use to think it means someone who is tough. This is because tupac was the first person from whom i heard it. Black people call themselves nigger. It was much later that i got to know its true meaning.

My question is; why do black people not get angry when they call themselves nigger but get angry when people from other races call them the same name? Why is it offensive in the first place when we can see it as a different style of saying negro. After all, we are all negros.

op, whats wrong with being desperate and showing it? It does not mean you are weak, but that you are strong and know what you want. It shows you value your man and are ready to do anything to get him back.. My advice is; go to him and tell him. Make him see you are desperate afterall thats what you are. If he is my kind of person, he will feel valued and that might melt him. He will take you back if he still cares for you but if he doesnt, just move on.
