Way to go girl! Though the rest of the world may not believe it, Nigerians are naturally hardworking. Baby, pls keep the flag flying even higher. Congrats!!! |
For some people, it's a habit. You see them fall asleep immediately it is time for sermon, but once it's over, you see them awake instantly without the help of anybody. Some churches could boring at times, no doubt, but believe you me, if you make up your mind to stay awake and listen, you will go home with at least one nugget! |
Omo, this is true o! I just received an sms alert now telling me that effective 5th Aug, 2011, Bank PHB plc becomes Keystone bank Ltd. They assured me that my money with them and all staff jobs are secure. Maybe I should go on Mon and withdraw my money there and move it to GTB? Guys, what do you think? |
@ George D and Ictewand, guys you both spoke well, but the truth is that some of these diet stuff do not work for some people like me. I actually do not know my weight as at now, but I am very slim. My sis and bro are starving to loose weight, despite the fact that all of us live in the same house and ea t the same food ( I even eat more than all of them). Being fat is not really in our family, yet they are big cos of worth we eat @ home. When I found out that there seems to be no hope from eating well & plenty, I resorted to midnight meals and plenty junks. I drink upto 2 minerals and 1 bottle of malt per day, yet no show. I have given up, really, but I still do d junk thingy. But then, I think I should do what Flexmoney said. I think that may do the trick. That way, I will be slim and spicy! @Johnpitter, don't you think it's worth giving a try? |
Make them prosecute both her and EFCC quick quick! If we really want corruption to die in our country, then toes must be stepped on! Gbam!!! |
@Sicily4u, that was a very good point, though the report did not say Sunday church service, but church service only. It may be the usual catholic everyday morning mass, you know. All the same, I pray that God will keep the man alive. I wonder what amount of emotional toll this whole event must have exerted on his family! |
He truly is a great icon. Happy Bday our hero! |
While I know that D'banj is good, methinks Tuface is better. However, am glad the award came home. I am really impressed with the giant strides our artists together with their producers/production crew are making in the music industry. Way to go guys! Nollywood should take a cue! |
While I applaud the army authorities for reprimanding the erring soldier, I also want them to ensure that every offending uniform personnel, whether an officer or an ordinary soldier is equally brought to book. There must be no sacred cows. Same goes for the police too. |
Though am not a fan of Nollywood, RMD is one of the few Nollywood actors who knows how to interpret their roles very well. Talking about coming on board Tinsel, that's good to know! Funny enough, even though I don't watch Nollywood films, I do not joke with some Nigerian soaps, and Tinsel happens to be my all-time favourite! Other good soap operas I like seeing are Spider, Hills & Valleys, Domino, Circle of Three, City Sisters, Kamsin and Neigbours etc. Been a while I watched most of though, except Tinsel & Spider. |
There's no point sitting here asking if you should or not tell Tunde. You are doing yourself a big favour by telling him, cos if you don't, I doubt if you could live with this info on your conscience all your life. Like someone said here, a broken r/ship is better than a broken marriage. And what if Tunde were your biological brother! |
Omo, the write too long! I no fit read all o! Anyway, Olu and Joke are two very good friends who understand each other. I think some erring (maritally) Nollywood stars should look up to them for inspiration (maritally). |
Well, from my own point of view, rice is not indigenous to Nigeria. But I must say you are right. An average Nigerian who lives in the city from my observation eats rice at least once a week. I like eating rice very well. Infact, I can't do without rice and eba in a week! I go just die be that!!! ![]() |
I think this thread is an interesting one. Inter-tribal dating or marriage, if you ask me is a very good, as long as both families support the husband & wife to-be. Inter-tribal love is a thing of choice. |
I think it is very possible. Even though I don't have much female friends now (cos almost all of them are married), I have had very good female friends who impacted my life very positively. A word of caution though: the fact that he/she is your good friend does not mean that there will not be boundaries. Make sure the relationship is PROPERLY DEFINED and SET BOUNDARIES. |
I think the govt should invest into serious campaign on family planning in the north. Parents should not give birth to more than they can cater for. That way, the Almajiri schools will run out of student enrollment, hence close up. By the way, I think education is almost free in the north as at now. I think some northern state govts even pay WAEC & NECO fees for all the SS3 students of their respective states. I think efforts should be geared into letting the northern parent know the importance of sending their words to school at least secondary school level. |
@dem people: Zoning is a PDP thing and even at that, you're insinuating here that PDP will always win (rig) the elections by a wide majority which, has not been the case. The architects of zoning never saw the possibility of a free and fair election. They thought it would've been business as usual. Power will not go back to them in a very long while. Try and look at the voting patterns and the geo-political zones and see whether you can deduct one or two things. Let me help you. When you talk about the hausa, how many are they? When you talk of the northerners, how many are they? Who and who can be classified as "the political core North"? And have u heard of the middle belt? Do u understand what is meant by the middle belt going against a particular known voting pattern to vote for GEJ (and not necessarily PDP)? Try and understand the demographics of the country. All sharia states voted for CPC. Even in those states, GEJ got his 25 % in most of them. CPC didn't have the necessary structures to make impacts or inroads in the south. ANPP would've been better, had Buhari stayed with the party but its still seen as a northern party. ANPP would have gone as far as gaining more seats in the NASS and also govs, all in the north but not necessarily nationwide. If power were to return to the "north" by 2015 or 2019 then, that power can only go as far as the middle belt and this assumes its PDP. For another party to upstage the PDP, they must first have the necessary geo-political coverage and clout around the country in other to do this which, is not possible due to all other parties being seen as regional parties. Another reason why the Hausa/Fulani would not win the presidency is cos of the middle belt. As from this election and for any free and fair election, the middle belt is much likely to follow the pattern of a united south. And so, that leaves you with only 2 zones (NW and NE) which are not enough to make an impact. Infact, power can be alternated between the MB, SE, SS and SW as from now on. It'll be difficult for the NW and NE to produce another presido in many years. This is the end of the Hausa-Fulani oligarchy. I think I agree with u here. If we continue with conducting free and fair elections in the further, clinching the number one position by any Hausa-Fulani politician must be a hard nut to crack. In my own opinion, this post presidential election violence has only served to widen the already big divide, and further severed greatly, the opportunities of NW & NE politicians as far the presidential position is concerned! |
A drowning cluthes at straw I never even envisaged that CPC would get up to 100 votes in the whole of South-East! He should be greatful that he got some votes from the zone at all. Coming out to make serious claims on electoral malpractice without consulting with your party overseers in the zone is really ridiculous! I rest my case here. |
@ Jah Man, I think your post was very amusing and by far most practical. I nearly laughed my heart out about the UNN guy.lol. Funny enough, I am a Lion from that Dept (though I read combine honours: Comp Sci/Maths), and I understand exactly what you were saying. What you said was not out of place. How was your day? Hope you are good? |
@ Atriedes, we are still waiting for more gist na. Or are u going to give us a resume of all that happened within this your period of silence in a single post? I think ur posts will be more interesting if u can give us the updates on a daily basis. Anyway, am still counting the secs, |
I stumbled onto this write up on Saturday. Read a little bit and loved it. because I was very busy, I could't get back to it until last night ie Sun night. Guess what? I read it all, ending at almost 1am in the morning, and I loved every bit of it. It was a good lullaby for me. Makes me wonder what in the name of God u are doing in Stat Econs, lol! That's my thought by the way. You are one hell of a writer! I'll and try follow through your daily inputs. Thumbs up Atreides!!! |
Mine is " I love you pass my mother!" |
The boy actually has got something! I don't subscribe to the opinion that he is fake, much as I would not disagree that he is copying some dudes. However, I sincerely believe he will improve over time. For the time being, I think he is my favourite act on the show. |
Men, I love the program die! I have been following it since season one. I missed the grand finale for this 2nd season, and I feel very bad about it. The judges are very seasoned. The contestants were all very tough. Much as I liked everyone on the show, I think I have a soft spot for Rachel Azubike. She was evicted towards the last weeks of the program. I eaqually liked Chinedu, Arit and Olumide(The Diva). I can't wait for the next season to come around. Watching the program was definitely worth the while! |
And the Governor and his deputy are busy with power tussle while the masses are dying! The military/police/task force cannot deny that they don't know anything about this attack, I mean b4 it happened. I am sick of all these killings in Jos!!! |
@lysaa, I second your opinion. I also think she was the best among the trio, followed by that black boy Tarila and finally John. Of course I saw the Kpokpodikpo performance! It was amazing! I also hope her music career doesn't end with the competition which is usually the case. I would want all of them to borrow a leaf from Omawumi. She did not win the West African Idol but the competition was the platform that launched her career. If you are to judge now, wont you say that she is far ahead of the winner Timi Dakolo? |
@lysaa, u mean Tamara of season I? I would also love to what's up with her. She was very goooood. I can't forget that day during season I that she did Listen by Beyonce or Battlefield by Jordin Sparks! |
Been following the contest very religiously. Anyway, the guy's good, but I would have been happier if the coveted $100k was won by Peace. She was soo good especially that week that they did Contemporary Nigerian songs and Fela classics. I hope Casey invests the money wisely. ciao. |
Well, I am not surprised by all these revelations! I believe more shocking ones will still show up not quiet long from now. It's high time all these corrupt practices of these thieves are paid for by themselves! Funny enough, some of these thieves such as Aondoakaa are learned men for crying out loud!! I just thought they ought to know better! Like I said earlier, am not surprised, yet, just the thought of these revelations makes me sick!!! |
why is everyone making a big deal out of this! Is he the only one that has been invited in the past for questioning that took so long by the SSS? See how AIT was busy disturbing our collective peace yesterday with their useless news flash. Make them go sidon. As for IBB and 2011, na pesin wey no get head go cast im vote for that enemy of progress. |
