It wrong to believe that government should make money circulate by engaging reckless spending as inbthe past. The truth is that our economy can only grow when local production and entrepreneurship are encouraged.

In other climes, banks conscientiously work to build customer base and develop the economy by providing funds and expert guidance to micro/small scale businesses as well as entrepreneurs with good ideas. Here in Nigeria, banks are on high horses servicing mainly importers, politicians and big companies.

In other climes, there are thousands of NGOs set up by wealthy people and big corporations to help people with excellent business ideas and poorly-funded going concerns. They organize business plan competitions to encourage entrepreneurship. In Nigeria, wealthy individuals sponsor candidates for elections while big corporations organize music concerts.

May God bless you. I believe most of us know the truth, but some would rather try to blame everything on the government regardless of how ridiculous it sounds.

only a few wise one like understand the dynamics. no dime from the wealth in circulation got to me then. against all odds I created the enabling environment for myself and it is paying me off, All thanks to God. it is only a few that were directly benefiting from the then government that would come forth to instigate this madness.

It is people like you we need in Nigeria, not those who sit on their lazy bums all day and complain. If you can't find a job, create one yourself.
I agree the government should provide an enabling environment but waiting for the government to " make money circulate" is not a smart thing to do.

If by commerce you mean trading or buying and selling, look you can keep the title because unlike you lots, my life does not revolve around buying and selling/trading. Some of us aim higher in life. I personally prefer software engineering and I am very successful at it. And the money I make from that is what traders depend on to make sales.

Everybody cannot be a trader, so if you lots choose that as your area of specialization, fine, but it seems you are expecting Yoruba people to follow suit en masse like your people, but like I said, some of us have more ambition in life that's way beyond that. You can remain champions at buying and selling (and thump your chest about it if that gives your life meaning) while the rest of us pursue and excel at loftier and more rewarding ambitions.

How could they teach Yoruba commerce? What type of commodities were being sold? Moreover, at that point in time the Ibo didn't even know they were not alone on planet earth.

Lol...but I must confess it's not as bad as it sounds. I lived in Florida and now in Texas and all my years have never experienced a shooting, it'sjust that almost every incident in the US is reported by the press cos of the value they attach to human life. Just imagine if all the deaths in Nigeria were to be reported, boko haram, bandits, herdsmen, sars, Yahoo, ikorodu boys, areas boys and thugs, school cults, daily lynching of petty thieves, etc. The list goes on and on, if you add all these then you will understand US is a paradise. Here you are even allowed to owned a gun to defend yourself unlike Nigeria where you are entirely helpless.

Did you see the story of the 4 year old who shot his little sister to death? Only in America. I've heard many cases of accidental deaths like that. We don't have that in Nigeria. Another one accidentally shot himself to death not long ago. When you combine all of these and the mass shootings, police shootings, gang wars, domestic shootings, you will realize this paradise is a dangerous place to be.

That is a whole new topic. Gun deaths are not the only cause of death anywhere. The reason why the US warning is hypocritical in because of the prevalence of gun violence is the US as well.
Good healthcare system, disease control and several other factors can contribute to lower or higher life expectancy.
