Read the truth from my previous post. No revisionist will tell you the truth.

Banjo and Ifeajuna cut a deal with the federals to go back and kill Ojukwu in exchange for safety. Instead of progessing to lagos which they had all means, they took the easy way out, and turn back. There was little or no resistance at Ore as against the lies peddled by the revisionists and anti-historian scoundrels. If there was, Banjo or Ifeajuna would have died fighting. Soldiers of those days (especially Biafrans) fight to the last man. That was the principle. Nzeogwu himself died fighting in Biafraland.

They simple cut a deal with Gowon and awolowo to kill Ojukwu and bring his head but it backfired and they had to pay with their lives. If Achuzie had led that troop, Lagos would have fallen within few days.

Throughout the course of the war. Patriots like Achuzie never retreated in battle, you cut him in he cuts you out. Always ready for ambush.
This is more than ridiculous.

Yes o. Five good years! Just today March 4, 2018 some people were still having fantasies of how this port will put Lagos ports out of business.

Biafrans will definitely be ahead of South Africa and most Caucasian nations both in Europe America Australia and Asia
Perhaps if you get Osisikankwu and Evans to kidnap all the leading scientists in the world.
Not to mention some seasoned armed robbers too to steal blueprints and other necessary things to leapfrog Biafra above her neighbors.

Nothing wrong with rivalry if we are honest with ourelves. The current position is any state can go ahead with a port if they can find investors. That hs been the case with Ibaka but it is one story after the other
I agree, if it is viable why not. But if it is based on the idea that Lagos will suddenly become desolate then good luck to the proponents.

0monnak0da:
Why should this not be so from a business perspective , a sentimental one or a religious one.?

The starting point is

HOW DID IT COME TO BE SO?

If we are not honest in answering this then we are wasting time here.

The other thing about Lagos killing ports in the east is quite simply ridiculous

That is life.

Fulani do not sell spare parts
Igbo do not sell cows

why do we not talk about Igbos killing Fulani spare part dealers?

Ae there no landlocke nations ? Everything you are saying is sentiment. That there ust be a port in the East
is this for business reasons or some for or tribal rivalry.

Let me ask a simple question

Why is there no international airport east of the Niger that is competitive? Is there a conspiracy there?

The honest truth about the Port situation is Lagos is the easiest option for an FG that only takes but won't spend. Look at the roads in Apapa e.g . Any port East of the Niger will succeed if it is homegrown.Waiting for the FG is a wait for eternity

The British in their wisdom moved the capital to Nigeria and Lagos became the dominant port based on the Rail line to Lagos.
The Western region took advantage of that and the manufacturing centre of Nigeria is next to the port.

So the question of whether it shoul be so is sentiment. More ports (Plural) will open in Lagos because of strategic moves made a very long time ago. There is no reason why Ibaka should not happen. The questiion is who will pay for it?

Many countries do not have ports. So this subterranean ethnic rivalry dressed up as clamour for port is needless,
Niger and Chad do not have ports. With a properly designed rail and inland port a container should arrive anywhere in the country withing 24 hours
It is absolutely about rivalry. Ethiopia depends entirely on neighboring countries for her imports and exports. With good rail system and inland container ports like you said, Nigeria doesn't need to construct a port at every coastal state.

0monnak0da:
They are functional . Whether I have visited any of them is not only irrelevant it is a foolish question

Lagos ports are more vialble because of low maintenance cost due to geogrphical advantages . The failure to develop it has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with money.

The reality is there is no government oney going into the ports in Lagos alll the government does is take and take . There is nothing to take in Port Harcourt abd Calabar and that is why they are less viable.

If there is evacuation infrastructure in place then the Akwa Ibom port will be a great success. The question is where will the money for that come from.

The other thing to bear in mind is our import consumption model is not sustainable if crude oil is the only way of paying for imports so we need to be thinking of ports that export not just import.

The only thing I see on this thread is the idea of "bringing down" Lagos which is not rationally driven.

I can bet anyone that Lekki and Badagry Ports will be completed before any one breaks ground in Ibaka.

Ibaka may sound like a good idea to those who want to bring down Lagos but

WHERE IS THE MONEY coming fromhuh for the ports and roads and rail lineshuh Where is the oney coming fro. Nigeria is so much in debt right now so it will be inteesting to seeif this story is different from what we have heard before.

To be clear the FG position is if you can find the money go ahead same as in Lekki
Please help me break it down for them. They are too emotional to think straight.

Go and know the difference between state development and federal investment first...before we continue..

I don't say the two regions owe a dim...but you would agree that 90% of federal investment goes to the two regions. This has nothing to do with the SE leaders...The shame is on the useless FG.

Please stop using Lagos and as index of any development..when comparing it to states in SE region.

You can use Oyo or other states... tongue tongue tongue
OK let us leave out Lagos. What are the Federal government investments in the SW that are absent from the SE?

According to you, 70% of the goods entering Nigeria with almost 200 million people is sent to a regions with meager population, the lowest economic activities and purchasing power?

Exactly what are they doing in the SE and SS with massive 70% of Nigerian imports?

Do they have larger markets and purchasing power in the SS and SE than Lagos state?

Do they have more imports and raw material consuming industries than Lagos state and Ogun state

Lastly, consuming 70% of Nigerian imports means not only massive industrial and market consumption, but huge IGR figures in the SS/SE.

So, why are the IGRs in the SE/SS are the lowest in Nigeria?

I know you people love to throw around fake and imaginary figures, but try add common sense and logic to your senseless and illogical claims.

A cry for help from haters and evil people...?

The only help you can give is to advise the FG to share or give every region say $1 billion to develop their infrastructure to the areas most needed and not just developing the North and SW. With that you can keep presidency..we don't care. Any other lifting up is senseless...as you have been lifting them up for 50 years...when you have been developing the two regions mentioned.
You need to hold your leaders accountable. Even Lagos is not yet developed by any international standard but no one can discount the efforts of the Lagos state government since the current democractic dispensation.
Lagos was in a serious decline when the Federal government left, the effects were obvious until the civilians came in and turned things around.
This type of leadership is what you should demand from your leaders and not shield them just because of ethnic loyalty.
The north and the SW does not owe you a dime.
