What's wrong with you people? You claim you are fighting for your people's freedom but you have literally turned to terrorists terrorising the same people |
JuanDeDios:That's an old testament law given to the Jews you quoted in ezekiel. The one you quoted in the new testament 1 Cor 15:20 has absolutely nothing to do with giving your first salary or earnings to any pastor or church and is not in any way related to the law made for the Jews in Ezekiel. The plain text is clear enough in itself, "For just as in Adam all die, so too in Christ shall all be brought to life, but each one in proper order; Christ the firstfruits; then, at his coming, those who belong to Christ; then comes the end, when he hands over the Kingdom to his God and Father. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet." 1 Corinthians 15:20-28 How does this text have anything to do with giving your first salary or earnings to anyone? |
Karmaisme:Impossible in my opinion, Turkey is already a member of NATO and any such attempts could lead to a full blown confrontation between NATO and Russia which NATO doesn't want at the moment. |
Tobechuckwu:So if you believe that the death of Jesus didn't invalidate the law, are you telling me that you keep all old testament laws in your life today? If the death of Jesus invalidate other laws, why is it impossible for the same death to invalidate the law of first fruits? Why will the death of Jesus makes us free from the law but once it has to do with collecting money from people then the death of Jesus can't invalidate it again? |
ogascomax:Can you please show any place where christians were required to pay first fruits? Or show any place where the apostles or the early christians in the Bible paid first fruits. You're saying Jesus was referred to as the first fruit and the church was also referred to as the first fruit but did the bible ever say we should now start bringing our first salary or earnings because we are his first fruit? Let's stop imposing jewish laws on christians just to force them to give. The first fruit was a law giving to Jews just like tithes and sin offering and so on. There's no where it was given or mandated for christians to still be under such laws. |
ogascomax:I don't condemn giving, I am just saying if you want to give, let it be out of love and free will not because someone told you it's mandated by one archaic old testament law or because you want to get something from God in return as if you're paying God to bless you. God gave you his own son freely so why do you think you need to pay him before he blesses you with other things? He has giving us all blessings in Christ so if we give, we give out of free will and a heart of gratitude not because we are scared that if we don't pay some imposed "tax" then God won't bless us. |
This op you need to learn how to write. A good article will at least let the reader know who the people he is writing about is. How can one read such a long article and at the end still not have any idea what you are talking about? |
To be sincere, what you call first fruit offering is no longer of any spiritual significance. God has blessed you already if you are his son and received Jesus into your life. He has given you all blessings you need in Christ so you shouldn't be giving because of what you will get in return. That's why you are worried about who or where to give, because you think God gives you in return for what you give him in monetary value. The first fruit was a law instituted for the Jews in the old testament and it was never at anytime carried over or transferred to christians so stop giving yourself headache over it. |
Lol ![]() |
caracas:Story, the catholic church did it!! Your popes sanctioned those actions didn't they? Many popes have even been recorded in history to engage in all manner of abominable acts like adultery and murders. If the Catholic Church is one and the same with christ then how did all these evil find their way into it? Can christ be corrupted? And please the so called great crusaders didn't do anything that brought the gospel to us. The places they went to fight in are almost entirely muslim and jewish today so which christianity did they go there to defend? |
Kobojunkie:What you put forth is arrant nonsense!! |
caracas:Lies, the catholic church has a history of deviating from gospel of christ. All those people that the catholic church killed during the crusades and the inquisition, was it Christ that sent them? You are propagating a heresy. Christ and the catholic church are not one and the same. |
caracas:Lol, so if christ is the word as you rightly say then the catholic church says something contrary to what Christ said then you will follow the catholic church? What did christ say about baptism and how it should be done? |
Kobojunkie:You are talking nonsense mr man. Baptism is Christ's ordinance not man's. Once you do it in a scripturally instructed manner, you don't need to do it again even if you change church 100 times. Human institutions have no power to declare God's ordinance invalid. |
WhatCanIsay:Human rites and rituals are subject to the word of God. If something is done according to God's word, no human rites or ritual can annul it. Even the example you gave shows how much brainwashed we have become about the power of the earthly church. Scripturally, You don't need the priest to get married. It's the parents that give their daughters hands out in marriage traditionally and once you have fulfilled all the traditional requirements, you can go and legally marry your wife in court and do whatever ceremony you want to do to celebrate it. There's no where in the Bible that it says your marriage is not valid unless it's blessed by a priest. |
caracas:The catholic church is the Authority not the Bible? Seriously? So if the Catholic Church is telling you to do things that are against the word of God, you will follow the catholic church? |
Esesuwa8:What is the formula that was given by Christ in the Bible for baptism? |
Kobojunkie:If your number one point is true then that means every baptism done in the catholic church is invalid because if it's not done according to what was taught by Christ in the scriptures then it's invalid. 2. Your number two point is complete nonsense. Baptism is done once and so long as it is done according to scriptures, it's valid. If you decide to go and be doing it multiple times, that is your own human decision. Christ never instructed anyone to do baptism twice. The only reason why you should do baptism again is if the first one you did was unscriptural. |
Freebills12:Mr informed, can you show me anywhere in the Bible that we were told that we must say I instead of we? The "we" is the body of Christ, the church which you are being baptized into. You people should not start elevating human inventions over the word of God. If God is okay with it, who are you to say it's not valid? |
Kobojunkie:You are just putting the cart before the horse. Who ordained baptism? Was it Christ or the catholic church? Every church has their own way of doing it which is different and so long as they follow the scriptural instructions, they are valid. It doesn't matter what anyone says. Are you telling me that if I am baptised in a church according to scriptural instructions then I relocate to another place and maybe the new church I attend do it differently then I have to be baptized again? The story didn't say the baptism wasn't done according to the scriptures, it says the priests didn't say I instead of we. That's not a disqualifier in the eyes of God, the Bible didn't say anywhere that you must say we instead of I. God has recognized that baptism and it is valid whether the human denomination accepts it or not. The recipient of such baptism don't have to do another one. The only thing that can render a baptism illegal is if it wasn't done according to the scriptures. |
Kobojunkie:They have a right to penalize any of their priests or members who err from their laws but they don't have the power to declare anyone's baptism illegal. Baptism is a spiritual ordinance by Jesus Himself, it's not man that decides which one is valid or not, it's God as revealed in His word. Once it's done according to scriptural instructions, the baptism is valid. it doesn't matter whether you confirm to your church directive on the words to use or how to do it. The church can then only penalize whoever did it for not adhering to their own method of doing it but that doesn't render the baptism illegal. The recipient of such baptism don't have to do another baptism. |
This is dictatorship and autocracy. There's no difference between this and the behaviour of third world dictators. People have a right to protest peacefully and freely. |
This is nonsense, the catholic church doesn't have the power to declare people's baptism illegal at all not to talk of over a flimsy excuse as this. The only thing that can make a baptism not to be valid is if it's not done according to Bible directions or principles. |
Good first half by the eagles, egypt no even dey game at all. |
Is salah still on this pitch? |
I still feel we are missing osimhen in this game. |
That's a good dream to have, There's no higher calling than that of being an instrument used by God for the salvation of the souls of men. May God continue to keep and bless you and may His perfect will and purpose for your life be fulfilled. |
AntiChristian:Your comment doesn't add up, if the faith wasn't there then why did Jesus say they would turn away from the faith? The faith had to be there for them to later turn away from it. These are people who were christians whether nominal or spiritual just like the people the op is asking about who will start turning away from the faith in the last days. Jesus said it would happen so the point here is that christians shouldn't be bothered about it when it happens just like Jesus said it would. Rather, they should be more concerned about being among those that remain steadfast to the end and are saved. |
Also check out 2 Timothy 3:1-4 1. But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3. without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4. Treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God |
These things shouldn't come as a surprise to the Bible studying christian, the Bible prophesied about these things a thousands of years ago. Check out Matthew chapter 24: 3-13. 3. As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” 4. Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains. 9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11. and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. |
AntiChristian:Jesus didn't come to abolish the law, he came to fulfill them or accomplish them like your version said. Why? Because no man could keep the laws of Moses. If God really decided to judge people by that law then no man will be saved. The bible says all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and another verse says he that says he has no sin is a liar and God's word is not in him. That's why Jesus came, the perfect son of God full of grace and truth. He lived a perfect life, not falling foul of any of the law and thereby accomplishing there purpose. Now Jesus was supposed to be rewarded with Life and blessings for being perfect before the law and men were supposed to condemned with death having not kept the law but jesus did an exchange, taking our punishment of death upon himself and giving his justification and reward of life to all who believe in his name. Jesus has fulfilled the law in his life and death so you don't need to fulfill it anymore, all you need to do is believe in Jesus and you will be saved. |
Children don't bear the sins of their fathers. Stop putting too much importance to many of those mosaic laws given to the Jews. Jesus is the new Convenant and people are only judged by what they decide to do with Jesus. "Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son." JOHN 3:18. Your relationship with Jesus is all that matters. |
