No be me be that oh...
ever since I was a kid, I listened to every word till the point i memorise them.
I still remember quotes from Clash of the Titans, sound of music, King and I, and many other movies and every word, song, joke, reaction was noted. This followed me growing up and it has gotten worse. I rather chase everyone out of the room so I can hear every word.
Wow lovely one.

That movie poster brought back memories mehn...

Couldn't believe it that 'last American Vîrgín' was the closest thing I saw that felt like bf...

I was more of a horror movie fan, watched the first saw movie when it came out. Right now I can eat through the most horrible movie without flinching...

Funny thing, current movies don't bug me no more, I've gone back to the 80's and 70's to check for classics...

Just finished the original naked gun last night before watching the current 2025 remake, I didn't even last 30 mins, I don go sleep...
Back to the memory lane.

You are very right... I was like this when I was a kid. I never use to listen to what was been said in Hollywood movies cos they seemed to be talking to fast. grin
Same with me too lol,I didn't hear a single thing and I watched several films as a kid.
RomanceMost Kids Just Watched The Actions Taking Place In Movies And Not What They Were by guobe(op): 4:40am On Aug 14, 2025
The watching of white movies by kids then was just about the action fight taking place as most kids did not care to listen to even a single word coming from the actors in a film.
The plot of the movie they don't know talkless of the theme.
As long as there is fight going on in the movie then the movie is tough and if no fight then it is not tough lol.
From movies like coming to America to sister act and so much more.
In coming to America ,maybe the only word they heard was goodmorning my neighbour, goodmorning, f..k you f..k you too.
Kids en.

Too sad, anytime I travel to any state and it's football season, I always try to go and watch the local games no matter the distance to where I was to the stadium it's too sad that we are fixated to English premier league that we totally neglect our own, I also blame poor branding and poor media hype, if you see where the English press they hype their league and their players, you will be amazed
Exactly and also mist local clubs need to step up by branding themselves.
Most local clubs dont even have a functional website where their merchandise can be bought anywhere in the world which they can use in funding the team but all they do us depend on Government subvention.

What do you mean you don't know how we got here, Guobe? This is an interesting topic that should dominate frontpage.

In 1989, brand new Peugeot 504 was #80k. It was assembled in Nigeria. Volkswagen was assembled in Lagos. Leyland trucks in Ibadan.

Now all the Completely Knocked Down parts for these cars were imported. We weren't making anything. Then Babangida devalued the naira and those industries we had started dying off. Remember Bata shoes nao. Remember the textile industry. They all died with reduced purchasing power of the populace. People switched to tokunbo and we stopped manufacturing things we needed except for little things like sweets and biscuits and a few cosmetics.

We couldn't make components for tv and radio. The mobile phone industry came we couldn't manufacture anything that went into mobile phones. We import virtually everything.

Look at Taiwan. I bought my daughter a tennis racket days ago. I sent money and the racket was sent to me. It's a kennex. I googled it and it is a taiwanese product. Now that company was started in the backyard of the founder's father's house. It rose to become the world's largest racket maker cornering a quarter of the world market. It looks like a small thing but do you know how many people it would have employed way back then?

We don't have policies to enhance manufacturing. That's why we are here. Look at agriculture too. When you talk about food prices, some people say "go and start farming, lazy man". You feel like cursing such people. We have enough farmers in Nigeria already but the necessary industrial inputs and governmental policies are not available. The state governors are the most useless.

Look at education. So you see, that's how we got here. We are not deliberate about development. It's more about politics politics politics. And supporting useless politicians who don't care whether you lived or died. All in the name of tribalism and religion. Wo, let me stop
You nailed it .well analysed.
The politicians like the way it is now depending so much on oil money.
The world is going green and moving away from oil and that is when catastrophe will hit us hard.
So unfortunate.

We got here because a CBN governor was printing naira like monopoly money while a cartel of government- oil traders were using subsidies to impoverish the nation. The bill has come due and everyone will pay it.
And the naira printing CBN Governor didn't have a currency so bad as it is now?

This is not a good news
The buying power of Nigerians is reducing on daily basis.
The gap between the rich and the poor is becoming wider
The middle class is dissapearing gradually.

Tinubu is a mistake.
Nigeria is currently in a terrible situation.
Some couple of years ago cars were bought for 80,000 naira, but now the reverse is the case.
I don't really know how we got here.

The Nigerian economy is booming as things are going smoothly for everybody as even keke price is now over 4 million naira.

Thanks

But NFF not doing enough to support Local football.

Why hiring foreign coach to coach CHAN eagles,a team literary meant for players from domestic league.

See what happened to Chan eagles in Zanzibar this evening. Losing 4-0 to Sudan. A Big disgrace. What happened to indigenous coaches who qualified us for the CHAN tourney?

NFF needs radical shake up!
Politicians have taken over all spheres of life in Nigeria including sports.
What is the managerial pedigree of the person heading the NFF and you will find out he is another politician at the helm of affair.
Even the local coaches are full of favoritism as they will prefer to pick their friends
It's a dire situation.

I used to visit the stadium to watch Nigerian league matches, but the home teams hooliganism is too much.
2 - 4 policemen cannot control area boys and hooligans threatening the away team and officials with fire and brimestone
if their home team lose or draw a match.
Please keep supporting it as it has improved tremendously with little or no fracas at the stadium.

Guobe drop night games please 🥺💙
The season is fresh and this is the best time to start taking your datas.
What most punters dropping games now are doing is just trial by error as you can't really ascertain what will likely be the outcome of these marches.
Alot of teams have changed formation from last season so it's difficult to win at this early stage of the league.

Poor management affects most of these local clubs owned by state Government.
