Wisdomkosi: SaharaReporters are bent on tarnishing this man's image. And nairaland has joined the bandwagon too. Say no to bad journalism Pick on thing out of what SR made reference to that looks like they are tarnishing Saraki image. Truth is many serious politicians both in APC and PDP knows very well all the issues SR made reference to. It’s not new revelations or things concocted by SR |

raumdeuter: Though the SS is not homogeneous, they still mostly band together, Their states except Edo have a 20yr history of supporting PDP uninterrupted and no party has been able to break them
Jonathan offered them a rallying point and someone like Duke or Odili(if he had remained active), Ibori(If he didnt go to jail) could have held them together
I dont want PDP to win, I will still support APC but I think their best duo at this point is an Atiku-Duke combination. Many people across the country like Duke and he hasnt had any major scandal even after leaving the governorship seat
Most people dont really hate or have reasons to hate either of them at worst people are just neutral about them unlike Buhari and Tinubu who are either fiercely loved or fiercely hated Very true. Duke will enjoy the support of many of his class of governors and some of his contemporaries in the corporate world. He surely will add more leverage to any PDP candidate. But PDP will still lose to APC sha |

Seriously long overdue!
The RRS should make it presence visible in that axis, there are some bad boys that prey on lone pedestrian along that axis especially around Nurudeen Olowopopo way and along the stretch of bush as you descend into CMD road |
Politics › Re: VP Slot: PDP Goes To South West by gurnam: 4:49pm On Sep 03, 2018 |
raumdeuter: I think its smarter for PDP to choose the VP from SS.
1. SS has a high number of voters
2. Unlike SE, they do not harbor so much hatred towards APC and If they don't have a strong reason to vote PDP they will vote APC
3. SE will never vote Buhari even if he is the only name on the ballot
So the analysis is this. By choosing a SS VP, You are securing that region of 6 states plus 5 SE states = 11 states. If you choose a SE VP, you will get 5 SE states and possibly lose 2 SS states like Edo or Akwa Ibom so its a huge gamble
PDP should pick Atiku and a SS Vice The problem here is that the so called SS is not as homogeneous in thinking and voting as the name portrays. They were only brought (ganged up) together for the sake of Jonathan. That is why APC is finding it easier to break into than the SE that have almost same way of thinking politically Also don’t forget there is no one single Political leader for SS. Easier to break a group without a known leader |

famosh: Because the idea is the dumbest thing ever! One would have to question the IQ of whoever thinks about such idiocy! How does making each state's votes have the same weight no matter the population of each state mean equity & fairness? Lmao, never mind some of these political illiterates. Even Americans that practice the kind of Federalism that our own pseudo-federalism is modeled after, don't allocate equal number of electoral-college votes to all states. |

globemoney: [s]APC managed to win last presidential election in Lagos because of igbo votes.. The votes PDP got in Lagos alone was enough to win the presidency, except for the Kano case that destroyed everything. Igbos are simply the reason why APC dont win Lagos how APC win in Kano despite Tinubus influence and all so there goes your answer[/s] Ok, it’s sheer waste of time engaging dumb people |

seunmsg: I really don't like PDP quite alright but it wont be a good strategy for them to choose a running mate from the south west. They will make APC's victory easier if they do what they are proposing. Igbo's will have absolutely no reason to vote for PDP with an Hausa and Yoruba on the ticket. The politics of religion and tribe that PDP played in 2015 is going to hurt the for a very long time |

Politics › Re: VP Slot: PDP Goes To South West by gurnam: 12:42pm On Sep 03, 2018 |
As long as the SE is an integral part of Nigeria, hating Yorubas and Hausa/Fulanis at the same time will always be counter-productive to any ambition they have within Nigeria.
Wisdom is profitable to direct, picking your fight wisely in politics or anything at all is not a sign of cowardice, something the igbos have not learn. |
Politics › Re: VP Slot: PDP Goes To South West by gurnam: 12:12pm On Sep 03, 2018 |
dejol88: Wrong move for PDP should SE not get VP slot.it may interest PDP that most votes coming in from SW as opposition are predominantly from igbos. Any miscalculation that lead to igbos to leave pdp would naturally become a plus to APC This thinking has always been PDP thinking and hence their constant miscalculation in the SW. It took 2 months to the election in 2015 for GEJ to realize that this is not true and the desperation in the last few days to the election shuttling from one place to another place in Yorubaland. If you want to test your hypothesis, pour all your votes to APGA and you will see your voting strength is completely insignificant in the SW, a lesson that GEJ and Agbaje learnt the hard way |
