WebmastersRe: Eyowo: The Payment Gateway You've Been Waiting For! by guru01(m): 1:53pm On Nov 12, 2011
1stCitizen:
The platform is more "seller-centric" than "buyer-centric". Basically what has been done here is to ignore the major issue facing eCommerce in Nigeria today- Buyer protection.

Paypal is a behemoth in online payment aggregation today simply because its buyers are protected. The buyers prefer using paypal for payments and sellers have no choice than integrate Paypal.

Let us take the fact that buyer protection would be difficult to implement in Nigeria, the issue that borders me with this service are the basic requirements for sign-up. There does not seem to be any anti-fraud procedures in place to check the activities of fraudulent merchants who intend to fleece unsuspecting buyers.

Secondly, there does not seem to be any acceptable use policy which  means every street rat could easily hatch up different schemes to defraud using the service and further erode confidence in eCommerce in Nigeria.
I think eyowo should concern with how to protect the buyer pls.
Web MarketRe: Can You Deliver An Online Store Website? by guru01(m): 9:16pm On Nov 05, 2011
@OP
Well for now, it will be very hard to get a good developer to develop an ecommerce site of your choice.
Its not a matter of getting a domain name and hosting, you need to step up in price with more 70k for consideration.

WebmastersRe: Why? Nigeria Developers! by guru01(op): 12:32pm On Nov 02, 2011
More websites and more websites = websites, no difference.
Even if you do a site for 500k/1m, what is the use if Nigerians don't value it.
developers in nigeria are.
1. greedy - everybody has greed in him/her.
2. don't trust each other - its part of human nature.
3. some are cut and paste. (code copiers) - teach them how to do it better.

WebmastersWhy? Nigeria Developers! by guru01(op): 6:37am On Oct 31, 2011
Hello Nigerians, thank you for reading this post.
Well according to the above topic, i find it very difficult to see why
developers in Nigeria don't appreciate their self. What i mean is that, Nigerian developer
don't find time to developing their environment, rather they go on developing that no one knows about.

Federal govt. as we all know don't know about technology(basically on the aspect of software)
(in fact all aspect), and the reason i said so is because they don't give a damn, not knowing
that technology plays a vital role in any economy development, all they care about is the oil/agro/bank,
and that alone is why all Nigerians company/industry can't strive online locally/internationally.

Most of Nigeria companies only know how to put information online, but can not process it. Well its not their
fault, so am calling on all developers(web/desktop) to pls see reason why we need to create awereness to tell people
what a website is(its not where you post only your company profile or contact form, is more than that brother).

Also if you agree with me, an average internet user in naija only knows how to visit his favourite social networking sit,
so why should a company pay 10k for web development, if the user don't know the worth.
And that is the main fact they are pricing low for the job( so of us are even blaming them for that). So if am to blame anybody
i will put the blame on developers, because we are all missing it. if you notice, most of the foreign developers, develop application
that help solve problem within their environment, why can't we?
All we are going after is foreign client(s), what happen to the one in Nigeria, don't they have money(of course they have), but they
don't understand why they should pay so much money. All i want is not to start something online, but for we to start something as one. One more thing
is that we don't appreciate ourselves. Don't you like to receive an award for your hand-work/creativity, music/movie industry do it, bankers do it, etc,
why can't we? Or don't you like to be recognize/appreciated for you creativity?

To cut the long story short, we need to come together as one to build this industry(our world), what we have passion for. I can't do it alone, because
we are together in this and i need your support and wisdom.

Cheers.

ComputersRe: Which Browser Is Fastest? by guru01(m): 5:44am On Oct 31, 2011
No browser is fast, because i have all of them installed.
What make a browser fast is the internet connection speed, but what makes a browser slow is too much plugin,add-on and so on. Try to uninstall so of the add-on/extension and see the speed of the browser.
BusinessRe: Boutique Business Help by guru01(m): 5:39am On Oct 31, 2011
Its all depend on your target market, your environment, what they can afford, and so on.
It doesn't base on the amount, but people who are cominng to buy.
Take a time out to work around your area to see and know what the environment is like, what they can afford, do they like cheap things, do they buy from boutique, all this are fact you must consider before doing business.

BusinessWhy? Our Business Are Failing Online by guru01(op): 4:55am On Oct 31, 2011
Hello Nigerians, thank you for reading in advance.
Am not a business tycoon, but i have observe something on the way
we carry out businesses, we are not getting it right!
I have a question to ask, why are we not putting our business online?
i don't mean just to have a website, if you use amazon, you know that it wasn't
meant for africans(nigeria), amazon was built specifically for US citizens, but today
its what you and i purchase from.
What is the problem of our e-commerce solution?

The world needs our services/products, our economy is depreciating daily, the naira is falling,
have you ask yourself the cause of all this economy downfall?
Well, its major problem is that we use more dollars than naira even in our country here
I urge you to discuss this problem here, so that we can all find solution together.

Thank you.

justnaira:
1. You ping your blog after each post. You can do this at a site such as http://www.pingomatic.com/, which will send the ping to multiple blog directories at one time.
2. You use social bookmarks each time you make a post, tagging the post with your keywords. You can quickly and easily send out multiple bookmarks at one time by using a free service such as http://www.onlywire.com/
3. You burn your feed at a free site such as http://www.feedster.com/. This lists your feed in their directory, so that people may subscribe before they’ve ever even visited your blog.
Thank you for this wonder info.
What about if your website is not a blog, how can one get good traffic?
