smartg: I said dis before, and someone argued it. The American scientists are the ones behind dis. They formed a new virus in the lab, decided to name it ebola and launch it in Africa by shooting it into the air, so that Africans will come begging for the cure. But GOD pass them, and GOD will punish whoever is behind dis disease. Wicked scientists nd United State.
Hahaha, sorry brother I feel your pain and anger but there's nothing we can do than for us Africans to stand up and do the needful. Our governments are not helping matters in this continent.

Remember we're tag the Dark continent(which means we are blind, unwise and can't see)
HealthDoctors Rule Out Ebola Infection In Romanian Patient That Visited Nigeria by guyANDROID1(op): 10:20pm On Aug 10, 2014
BUCHAREST (Reuters) - Romanian
health authorities said on Sunday that
a 51-year-old Romanian man suspected
of having contracted a severe infectious
disease during a visit to Nigeria last
month did not have Ebola.

The man flew to Romania from Nigeria
on July 25 in good medical condition.
Later he had symptoms of high fever,
vomiting and diarrhoea.

"We've taken all epidemiological data,
step by step, and we found those
elements that rule out Ebola infection
in this patient in a 99 percent
proportion," Adrian Streinu-Cercel,
director of the Matei Bals Infectious
Diseases Institute, told reporters.

Please if you notice/develop bolded symptoms, it doesn't mean you automatically have Ebola virus disease(EVD)

The fear of this disease is the killer itself

HealthLiberians Fill Churches To Pray For Deliverance From Ebola by guyANDROID1(op): 10:10pm On Aug 10, 2014
MONROVIA (Reuters) - Liberians packed
churches in the capital Monrovia on
Sunday to seek solace from an
outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus,
defying official warnings to avoid public
gatherings to try to contain an
epidemic that has killed nearly 1,000
people in West Africa.

With its creaking healthcare system
completely overrun, Liberia declared a
state of emergency last week to tackle
the highly contagious and incurable
disease, which has also stricken
neighbouring Sierra Leone, Guinea and
Nigeria.
People still flocked to sing and pray in
churches in the ramshackle ocean-front
capital, many of them comparing Ebola
to the brutal civil war that ravaged the
country between 1989 and 2003,
killing nearly a quarter of a million
people.
"Everyone is so afraid,” said Martee
Jones Seator at Saint Peter's Lutheran
Church. “Ebola is not going to shake
our faith in any way ... because we've
been through difficult times."

The World Health Organization (WHO)
has said that the world's worst
outbreak of Ebola will likely continue for
months, as the region's healthcare
systems struggle to cope, and it has
appealed for funding and emergency
medical staff.
With the disease now in four African
countries - following the death in
Nigeria last month of a U.S. citizen who
arrived from Liberia - the WHO on
Friday classified the epidemic as an
international health emergency.

A Congolese nun who worked
with him died on Saturday in Monrovia.
Outside churches in the capital, plastic
buckets with taps containing
chlorinated water sat on stools,
allowing worshippers to disinfect their
hands. Inside, pastors told their
congregations to follow instructions
from health workers, some of whom
have been attacked by locals terrified
by the disease.

“We are in trouble here. We are in
trouble," Reverend Marcus MacKay,
dressed in a green gown, said before
the altar. "But you know what? There is
no way this devil is going to do its
work!”
Tests on suspected cases in Hong
Kong, Canada and Saudi Arabia in
recent days have all proved negative.

Now my question is; Is that the way forward though I believe God but gathering multitude will increase this deadly virus.

HealthEbola Is An Alien? British Scientist Claims Deadly Virus Came From Space by guyANDROID1(op): 9:50pm On Aug 10, 2014
As the deadly Ebola virus spreads
across other countries, strange theories
how the virus came into being keeps
buzzing.
The latest theory from a British
engineer is that the virus is alien, and
did not originate on Earth.
Ashley Dale, who is pursuing
an engineering Phd in Bristol
University, claimed that there is a
possibility that the deadly bug landed
on Earth from space, the Daily Star
UK has reported.
"There is always a chance the Ebola
virus could have come from outside
this planet, at some point during the
evolutionary process, " Dale told the
newspaper.
"We have meteorites from Mars landing
on our planet every year, and we know
bacteria can survive the journey. There
is every chance Ebola arrived on this
planet from somewhere in space," he
added.
"Virus particles can also make it
through space undamaged, so there is
definitely a possibility something could
have arrived back in the evolution of
the planet that we are seeing now."
Dale told the newspaper that there is
every possibility that the virus survived
the planet's evolution, which is why it's
making its presence feel now.
According to a World Health
Organization (WHO) report, the Ebola
epidemic has already claimed nearly
1,000 lives in Africa while the tropical
disease continues to spread Liberia,
Guinea and Sierra Leone.
Nigeria and Benin governments have
also confirmed there are cases of Ebola
in those countries.
Meanwhile, Nigerians are falling victim
to a rumour which says that Ebola can
be cured by bathing in "hot water and
salt".
Around 20 Nigerians have also been
hospitalised from eating salt and bitter
kola to prevent infection. Despite the
Nigerian government issuing warnings
that the treatment isn't effective, the
rumor is being spread by text message
and social media.

HealthMessage To All Nairalnders About Ebola Virus by guyANDROID1(op): 7:23pm On Aug 10, 2014
Dear Nairalander's and Nigerians in general. Please be careful of how you misconcept Malaria or typhoid fever as having or contacting the deadly Ebola virus.

We all know that we're in the raining season where Malaria and other diseases associated with raining season in Tropical West Africa spring up.

Case scenario: 3 days ago, I was having a lil fever, headache and weakness in my body(Malaria symptoms). When I got to a pharmacy which happen to be owned by my friend. I told him my condition and he was like; hope this is not Ebola.

I replied Wtf, gawddamit. Its not possible coz I don't think I've seem someone that's sick/ill in the past 7days much less touching him/her.

I told him he should just give me Lumenfantrine(popular Malaria drug) that I would be fine. But thank God I'm back on my feet.

So my people if you feel any sign of malaria in your body, don't be scared to go to pharmacy and buy effective malaria drug.

Ebola symptoms only start to occur after you treated this malaria or Typhoid for several days and it aint showing any sign of improvement. Also symptoms like sore throat, bleeding diarrhoea can also show this disease.

Please don't be scared and let common malaria kill you because of ebola this ebola that's at the 'topic of conversion' now in West Africa.

Remember, people can only contact the virus from sick/ill ebola victims or dead ebola victims.

Please share this to people.

Stay safe and Maintain good hygiene

God bless Nairaland

God bless Nigeria.
