This is a good development for our democracy. The legislature must not accept everything from the executive and vice versa.
At the end of the 7th assembly the senators passed up to 100 bills in a day. What kind of rubbish is that. For the first time we are having strict scrutiny of legislative bills to avoid mistakes that we saw during the “will vs shall” Yaradua era. Imagine signing the electoral act into law, Atiku wud have a good case because we started the nomination process with the old electoral act and switched to 2019 act in the middle of the game.

As for the server issue, inec will simply tell the court that results were not sent to their server from the units, wards or states collation centers.

I’m yet to understand the reason inec has not withdrawn the so called declaration in imo. It’s so glaring to all that the candidate did not meet the electoral requirement to be declared a winner.
Some people would say inec does not withdraw declared results however they have withheld that of Okorocha And announced results for Rivers state.

Going by the constitutional provisions on wider acceptance, a governorship candidate must have the highest number of votes AND secure 25 percent majority in 2/3 local government areas to be declared a winner.
Attached here in is the constitutional provision, the results of the major parties in this contest and the percentage which shows that the candidate of the PDP RT hon Emeka Ihedioha failed to meet the constitutional provision. A run off is imminent in Imo state within 7 days.
