Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 8 Things You Can Do To Get A Job Despite Graduating With A 2.2 by HAH: 12:43pm On Mar 04, 2017
jaysan82:
These things are relative. I graduated with a 3rd class in geology and never looked down on myself for a second. I have worked in an oil servicing company and 2 different media houses and earn what most nigerians would consider a very good salary. Thing is this, a lot of employers would offer you a job if ure confident, smart, look/ dress good, communicate effectively and ambitious. Develop urself and work on ur personality. Persona is everything.
good one bro, my wife too graduated from geology with third class, she luckily Got work did PGD and masters in hydrology, she earns goods salary, the lecturers that frustrated her and made her go through hell largely due to pregnancy of our first child don't earn what she earns, to cap it she was sent by her office as a facilitator to a seminar on hydrology and behold two of her lecturers were were among participant she taught, shame couldn't let them face her well but she was very friendly to them, and life goes on, believe me good grade is good but your determination is what makes you succeed in life not any grade

Shame on all pessimist and wicked people.

Tell me how you float the naira in an economy that exports only oil an expect the naira to be stable, believe me if the government does that the dollar can be N2000 due to the greed , this hoarders and their cronies.

More grease to the government elbow, as long as oil sells for above $50 and there is peace in ND this policy can be sustained, the only reason so of this people are saying it won't work is because they are losing their hoarded dollars.

Osinbajo with the support of PMB have the backing of all well meaning Nigerians to continue with t policy of injecting FX to the economy weekly.
Politics › Re: If You're Given 2 Minutes To Talk With The Acting President, What Would You Say? by HAH: 8:10am On Mar 04, 2017
I will ask him to continue injecting at least $300M dollars to the economy through bank and BDC weekly, I will ask him to implement the yuan-naira swap deal , I will ask him to force all companies to commit 10% of there profit to agriculture an in return get 35% tax reduction, I will ask him to force markers of keke napep to either start producing here or get banned totally, I will tell him to call tecno or other mobile phone manufacturers to set up factory in Nigeria and get rebates, every adult in the country must be capture biometrically with an ID if not one cannot enjoy any services like schools, hospital, travel docs, banks, etc.

I will also give out all federal universities to private hands to manage then give bursary to student that get admitted , I will also give all hospitals own by federal government to private hands to manage then give free health insurance to all citizens that pay taxes, the government will only b a regulator in both health and education sector the government will also be only regulators but supporting the citizens to accessing services like housing, rail, airlines etc

How u dey bro

How's the bakery coming on

On the above matter ,what u don't get is 200m a week or 800m $ a month will not solve the problem ,our monthly demand as a nation cant be less than 1.2 to 1.5 billion $ ,throw in the speculators demand might be more

Imagine a total of about $700m was pumped into the markets and its still thirsty and rates are close to 470 again at the blackmarket in less than 8 days .
Its inevitable the currency will weaken both at the official and parallel

I feel the govt knows this already and are buying time hoping for a miracle because they know the devastating consequence of this increase on petrol and cost of living   or they will soon know

They are indeed btw the devil and the sea .I am praying for them because very difficult decisions must be taken .I feel it will be taken this second or third quarter
Thank you very much my brother for this insight, I honestly never thought our weekly demand for fx is of to up $1B, however I also commend the weekly injection if sustained it can reduce th thirst, furthermore I learn 50% fx demand is for fuel importation and if dangote refinery comes on stream it may reduce that demand since we will have local sufficiency, also the rice and wheat farming too consume a large chunk with the nation also working toward local production if oil, rice and wheat are produced locally the only sector that need to be fed well with fx are industrialist like you LOL

Maikori is a celebrity with much followers anything he says will take weight, to serve as deterent he needs to be prosecuted so as to stop other celebrities from spreading fake news.

In the UK when a celebrity commits an offence his punishment is like tripple that of others people because he is a role model that others may follow, this are the burden of being a clebrity. Just a apology by Maikori is not enough

there's something we are missing somewhere i guess...

if Nigeria makes that kind of money, why can't they pump at least $200m into FX market every week, and keep $200m for reserves

youre absolutely right.. something doesnt make much sense..

If we had $200m into fx market every week for 6 months straight, dollar would drop quite a bit..

P/s this is just oil export.. we still export Gas, and some other products as well.. maybe not as much revenue as oil but still some funds..
now you are getting it my brother all we need is political will, Nigeria is so blessed for us to live in penury, believe me if what you said above is done the dollar can be sold for N200 over time

Wrong calculation.. you know oil has a cost of drilling.. we dont earn $55 a barrel.. you have to remove the cost of drilling the oil, which i believe is over $20 a barrel..
obviously you did not read my write up well I gave 40% to JV the JV partners borne t cost of production that is why they take almost 40% o production returns, so cost of production . Adequately been taken care of
Business › Re: Naira Weakens To N458 Per Dollar At Parallel Market by HAH: 8:34am On Mar 03, 2017
naija1stpikin:
is it sustainable?
as at today due to relative peace in the ND, we export 2.1million barrels in a day and oil sells for averagely $55 per barrel, that means $115M is made daily, now deduct JV of about 40%, tha means Nigeria earns about $70m daily therefore we make about $420m weekly from oil, if I were the government I will pump $200M into the economy and live $220 int the reserves

So my brother your worry should be political will, but not sustainability cos is very sustainable as long as oil is relatively high and there is peace in the land
Business › Re: Naira Weakens To N458 Per Dollar At Parallel Market by HAH: 8:21am On Mar 03, 2017
naija1stpikin:
thats the magic which is not sustainable. How long are the going to inject dollar into the market for? So it's always going to be back to zero which is not what we need
JustCalMeDBoss:
For how long can the government continue to pump dollar into the economy.
the truth is they can pump dollar into the economy as long as we sell our oil in dollars, how? We use naira locally not dollars to pay salaries and works, so that dollar earned is what will be converted to naira to be used for the salaries and work, so all they will do is give whatever naira needed equivalent in dollars to banks and get naira inexchange then use it forinternal use

Sustainability is d problem of Nigeria policy

Hw long will CBN sustain this policy is d big question.
very easy to sustain, as long as we earn dollar for oil export, simply by giving out all money to be distributed for FAAC. In FX to CBN and be sold then the naira equivalent be distributed at faac

Blackmarketers will be on the rush to sell out then will go after CBN dollar hoard it so that they will still be in control of the market. Until blackmarket is scrap no hope for the naira.
black market exist when there is scarcity, if CBN sustain it supply with the crude price increasing and vandalism nonexistent, no one will do black marketing it will die a natural death unless the government changes it policies to the worse
Business › Re: Naira Gains Massively Against Dollars NGN 410 To $1 by HAH: 10:48pm On Feb 24, 2017
All the prophets of dooms will be shamed, what caused dollar to go high abinitio was it's less supply due to fall in the price of crude now that crude price is getting high dollar supply has gone up, initially the CBN was building up the reserve, it is now $30Billion which is averagely ok, now whatever is gotten can be shared between reserve and fx demand by businesses.

If the CBN continues supply of atleast $200Million weekly I believe in 2 months dollars will be N200, remember they supplied $500M to the market this week Monday but the banks could only take $370 leaving them with balance of $170M for next week, if by next week they supply $300M to banks and $200M to BDC, there will be over supply and price will crash drastically. Remember this week crash is just because of supply to banks alone just imagine what will happen when BDCs too are supplied.

So hoarders beware, your days are over, thanks to crude price increase and the foresight of Osinbajo and PMB, God bless Nigeria

Why are you all complaining? ITs the best policy that would help tackle corruption and armed robbery. GO CASHLESS!!

My only grouse is the exemption of some agencies, especially federal ones. It doesnt make sense. If anything, the cashless policy should START from them.
the exemption for agencies are for accounts that receive revenues from public which is logical, because there may be 1000 deposits in a day by different people, govt accounts have since 2008 being on the basis of epayment and no cash withdrawals

Business › Re: CBN Introduces New Charges On Bank Deposits And Withdrawals by HAH: 7:27am On Feb 24, 2017
Good policy, transactions should be cashless in this days and time.

The CBN is even lenient to take it upto 500k with charges, left to me is outright ban, this has already happened in India a country of over 1.2billion people

Use your internet banking, mobile banking etc for transaction even if it is over 1 billion no one will charge you kobo.

Only criminals that want money trail to end that demand cash paymennt, eg drug deal, kidnapping, bribes etc

Personally I only use cash when I go to local market, everything is POS, Internet or mobile banking, with this you can easily audit my personal accounts

sirlop:
I didn't say anything about subsidy. Government has failed to provide the enabling environment for such farmers to succeed. Despite all the billions spent on power. How on earth will these farmers operate their mills with gen set? It's a terrible situation. That alone discourages investment. Come to think of it, that seized rice was cleared at the port by customs who collected bribe. Even the so called Federal patrol will take their own bribe and still release the rice. So, the whole system is in a total mess. We all know what is happening in this part of the word. As I said, Nigerians must survive.
Yes operating in Nigeria is tough, but that doe not justify illegality, beside there is a saying that say when the road it tough, the tough gets going, Nigeria in its self is a big market and we are very enterprising, a wise business man should know how to go to ebonyi, anambra, Kebbi or Jigawa to get rice and add value to it, by the time the local rice is well sorted and packaged. Believe me it can compete and even beat the imported one so why not explore that and invest in it.

On the issue of currupt custom officers and bribe, yes lots of them are corrupt but that does not make smuggling legal, at least the raid may be a deterrent for intending smugglers.

I just laugh at your contribution. The existing local farmers are not given any atom of encouragement by the government. People will have to survive.
for your information government has no obligations to provide subsidies for farmers but compassion, tell me how we will grow our economy if we sole rely on imported goods, shamelessly rice in this case that we can produce abundantly, and NIS is fully backed by law to confiscate smuggled contraband

Sad seeing most comments are sympathising with smugglers economic saboteurs.
Some people are even saying why were they not informed before the seizsure or why did they come by 12am, so when coming to arrest a criminal they should inform them ba? So that they can hide whatever illegal they have, I hear una.

As read from the report even the traders themselves agreed that they are smuggled through land borders and the paid corrupt official 1k to pass so what is the fuss if upright task force confiscate it.

The traders should henceforth look inward on local rice, and how to add value to it

What if you see a car with very odometer but roughly driven for instance, I will always go for a car with 100k odometer used on German road neatly than a Nigerian used car mostly on untarred or potholes filled roads with 50k miles odometer

Firstly: Very poor reportage. probably to portray some group in bad light.
The suspect for clarity sake is not "Chairman of Sharia court of appeal. Rather he is the chairman of a Staff Cooperative society with the Sharia court of Appeal.
Secondly: Most readers/ contributors on Nairaland have comprehension problems. So despite the obvious contradiction in the caption with the body of the pot, they are yet to see something miss leading. Perhaps too desperate to ventilate ....
Thirdly: The accused being a Muslim should have been be sent to the Sharia court for trial.
