I've always thought of studying architecture in a developed country for my undergrad degree to better my chances in life.

I am willing to rewrite, but paucity of money has withheld me. & what if i succeed, I may not pass with an excellent result after two years hiatus off school - for an excellent result is needed for a good scholarship.

Why do you have to compromise your dreams and goals just for temporal setbacks that are not beyond what you can control?

Your '2 years-off' might not count If you're ready to be focused and 'seriously serious' to start afresh while studying hard to sit for another WAEC exam. Prepare and sit for the WAEC with great commitments and chase your dream, only if you will be able to summount that money problem.

Increase your view towards seeing possibilities in all things... you can!

It's really worth it if you have the provisions and resources that are needed. If you don't just pass through school, but allow school to developmentally pass through you, it's a great investment you will ever be glad you partook. Go to any school you can afford

Lol, every average student you meet has had such thought flashed through his mind. Your goal should rather be , going to school to make the best use of it at levels of opportunities. There's more to school than certificate. You even stand a chance of meeting good friends that might raise your later in life.

The decision is now yours, but make sure you choose rightly that you don't regret your decision 10 years from now on.

You're not going crazy, it will soon pass.
The major implications of overthinking are fear and anxieties.

Believe me, they're just illusions that don't exist. The sub-conscious mind also finds it hard to distinguish between what is real and abstract so, the same hormonal signals and impulses are sent or released.

Now, you must start the step yourself only if you love yourself. You must believe that all the Overthinking processes only exist in your head and no where else... and that they're powerless as long as choose to ignore them....no matter how meaniful they might appear to be.
Learn to challenge your thoughts that they can't overpower you.

FIRST RULE OF OVERTHINKING: Resistance is persistence i.e the more you try to resist, justify or analyse a thought signal, the more critically persistent it becomes... and the chain continues.

Another thing is creating self awareness. Immediately the thought signal flashes across your mind, distract your mind with something else and say- "You this thought is here again, I won't over -think you... and you're powerless without my stimulation and reaction. Change the topic immediately or go out with a friend to discuss something relatively different.

Having a mindset of Perfectionist can also lead to state of overthinking. We can't just help somethings that are beyond our control..so accept yourself that you're not perfect, that every one makes mistakes and that making one will only make you stronger and become more established.

Lastly, go out and share what you're experiencing with close friends or pals if you don't mind.

"What it takes to be a good University " is an open ended question.....and the answers might be relative. But generally, a good University student is that which makes the best moments while in school positively.

The one who is always goal oriented and then, consistently achieve it. (Positively)

The one who doesn't base his times and living on chance and things that waste most of his valuable times.

A good University student plans for his future (academically i.e being serious with studies, financially, developmentally) even while in school.

A good University student understands that every moment counts

So, keep your self engaged with relevant skills or academic goals... also watch the type of friends you keep (it's very important)... you might attend a nearby fellowship or even join a good group..... depending on your seriousness..

Whether your parents were strict, under strict or over strict, the treatments you got were enough raw resources to refine and rebuild your life lessons and wisdom which could have been a guarding angel , even while in University and up till now.

However, the decision to choose came to you with enough time and options but you rather chose wrongly....(while trying to justify the harsh treatments you received from your parents).

Now with time, you gets to understand the victim who takes the Lion's shares of the sufferings.

Meanwhile, preventing people from hazards (knowledge), while not making them understand (wisdom) the consequences and end-results of it is half-baked!
