GODAKPAN: The gurus in the house should please confirm this formula for me , thanks.
INTEREST TRUE YIELD = CAPITAL – INTEREST = P
TRUE YIELD = P X 100
i.e. interest divided by difference between interest and capital, all multiplied by 100 Correct!! Int/Cap - Int * 100%. But note that this formula may not work for other debt instruments. Because T Bills is a debt instrument that pays interest upfront in form of capital gains only [i.e a Zero Coupon Instrument], then the formula is fine. Although what is more important is for you to be able to plot the cash flows of your investment. To make things easy, you may use a financial calculator or Excel to compute an IRR. These days everything can be done digitally. The IRR is the effective yield or yield to maturity of the debt instrument (e.g T Bills) |

savewelllivewel: Please I also need assistance on how to calculate compound interest e.g for N3m @ 13.5 for two years. Please I am a little confused, I dnt want to mislead a client. Thanks everyone for your usual assistance. 3.86 million - 3m = 0.86million. The future value is 3,864,675, so your interest is 864,675

Timmi: At NTB auction today, CBN offered N6bn, N30bn and N140bn of the 91-day, 182-day and 364-day bills at respective stop rates of 11.95%, 13.65% and 13.70%. While the stop rates of the 182-day and 364-day bills remained unchanged, the stop rate of the 91-day bills was 5bps lower than the last auction. If i bidded less than 11% for 91 days , is that what i will get or the stop rate 11.95%? |

GODAKPAN: First bank for secondary market and stanbic for primary. That is the little I know. godanie06677@yahoo.com Hi bro. Can u educate me a bit? In the primary market, you auction for the t bills in a bank? Once the auction day has passed and you still want to buy t bills, that market is a secondary market? And the interest is lower if you buy at the secondary market right (compared to if you bought at day 1 in the primary market) Is there any criteria before you can auction for t bills? Thanks |

Hi guys.
So stanbic has rectified my issue. I have received the value . In their mail to me, it read: Please be informed that this has been rectified and you have been given value as at 09 January 2018. The transaction date is 06 February, 2018 but the value was as at 09 January 2018. does this mean all my interests from 9 Jan is included? If yes, is there an estimate of what this interest would amount to? The principal is 450,000.
I am asking because i cant see any interest in the fund.
Thanks |

mandibeauty: Please, can anyone recommend textbook for Sfm Acca p4/F9 Bpp text (SFM Syllabus cuts across these 2 papers), then practice questions with Bpp revision kit. You could also refer to Acca online F9/P4 technical articles on their student accountant hub. I taught someone using the knowledge i gathered from all these (in preparation for my p4 exam), and the person got 70+% in the recent SFM exam results. Financial management is too interesting for anyone to fail it, just enjoy the paper using these materials i have recommended and see how you pass with ease. You can also solve Ican pathfinder questions on SFM. |

awesomeJ: Dear sir, You may definitely have a business with Inter switch if you carried out the transaction through the Quicktellar platform, which is likely. In January 2017, I also transferred a somewhat huge sum on an ATM from my Stanbic to my Zenith account. The response from the machine after the transaction was something like "...issuer or switch inoperative" or so. The former account was debited, but the latter wasn't credited. Long story short, it was by contacting Interswitch that I got to find that the fund was successfully transferred to Zenith, but their own network issue at the time caused the hang. They also followed up with the transaction by sending E-mails and reminder E-mails to Zenith, copying me each time. Eventually after about 84 hours after my very first complaint to Stanbic, the zenith guys credited my account. Reach Interswitch on +234 700 906 5000. You can also use Google to get their other contacts and E-mail address. Thanks i will reach them. Do they work weekends. |

Thats SIAML number right? I still spoke with them today, they claimed they didnt get the fund. GtB claims the fund left my account. Later on they said the problem might be with interswitch. Now i have no other number to call, i definitely do not have any business with interswitch. |

dadebayo1: Download the stanbic mobile app and then open the account via the app.. Just follow the instructions and it will direct you to the page where you will pay via your debit card. They will then send you log in details within 48hours after you register then you can transact as you wish. Just that there is a limit of about 250k voa the app.. You will need to register in the bank by updating your details if you wish to transact above the limit.. I will advise you to avoid the bolded. That is exactly what i did abt 3 weeks ago and till today my money is hanging where i dont know. They keep on pushing the blame to interswitch. |
