Nigerians are peacefully protesting at the Unity fountain, Abuja over a bill currently before the country’s Senate that could lead to heavy fines and jail time for sending “abusive messages.”

According to Human Rights Watch, Nigerians could spend two years in prison and be fined $10,000 for disseminating messages meant to “set the public against any person and group of persons, an institution of government or such other bodies established by law” over text message or social media.

That penalty is light compared to the maximum seven years in prison one might receive for spreading “false information that could threaten the security of the country or that is capable of inciting the general public against the government through electronic message.”

Court of Appeal sitting in Enugu has cancelled the election of Uche Ekwunife of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) representing Anambra Central in response to an appeal filed by Victor Umeh of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). Justice Datijo Yahaya stated that the election of Mrs Ekwunife on April 11, 2015, did not meet the prescription of the electoral act. The judge then ordered that fresh election is held in the Anambra Central Senatorial District within 90 days.

This issue of acceptance fee that universities in the country mandate their students to pay is a fraud and must be stopped, What is the essence of paying an acceptance fee when you would still pay school fees and the rest other mandated bills. The government really needs to look into these scam going on in our universities and stop it, Its not about reducing but totally stoppage of it because I hear that the Lagos State University (LASU) has reversed the increased acceptance fee for the newly admitted students from N20,000 to N10,000 which is still outrageous.

Confirming the news, Mr Adeyemi Onikoro, President, Lagos State University Students Union (LASUSU)‎, told news men today in Lagos said:
“From our investigation, the new students ‎have started paying the N10, 000 as revised,’’ he said. LASU ‎authorities had in November increased the acceptance fee for the newly admitted students from N10, 000 to N20, 000 and indigeneship fee from N1,000 to N5, 000. However, LASUSU had demanded a ‎reversal of the fee with immediate effect to prevent students’ unrest. ‎

Though Onikoro said while the acceptance fee was reverted, the indigeneship fee ( which is another pure fraud) is yet to be reversed from N5, 000, to N1, 000 and that the students union body was still negotiating with the university management on the reversal of the indigeneship fee to prevent uprising from the Lagos State ‎indigenes.
“The implication of a refusal by the management ‎not to reverse the indigeneship fee, is that the Lagos State indigenes will be paying more than the non-indigenes in their state owned university,’’ he said. According to Onikoro, the indigeneship fee‎ must also be reversed so that it will not escalate into community rancour.
“This is not an issue affecting only the students union alone but the National Association of Lagos Indigenes Students (NALIS) and ‎the Lagos State traditional rulers will also seek redress,’’

A useless party that brought sixteen years of pains, sorrows and sufferings on Nigerians and with every allegation or evidence that are been uncovered every day, its safe to say PDP represent the very worst and odious side of Nigeria. there signature mode of operation is to always look the other way when lawless acts are in progress, but cry and wail when the law steps in to seek justice..

I think its high time that some one make Metuh, PDPD and their sympathizers understand that crying wolves, releasing statements and calling on international community will not help them a bit. Not when available evidences do not prove anything against the government.

So, Femi Fani-Kayode is on a ranting spree this morning, in his latest tweet, he has laid into the action of President Buhari shaking the hand of Queen Elizabeth while he reportedly refused to shake the hand of some female ministers. Now lets remember those ministers Buhari refused to shake are Muslims and they in turn did not offer their their hands as they are aware of what their religion says about handshakes, Buhari not shaking hands with them is a sign of respect to the women and womanhood in general. The Muslim female ministers understand and appreciate this. Queen Elizabeth is not a Muslim so Buhari is free to shake her and am sure if he had refused to shake her, its the same FFK and his band of wailers who will call for his head and tag him a fanatic.

Personally, I do not think the senator is deceiving anyone, no one is saying the president shouldn't travel but his travelling is becoming a matter. This government is just about 6months old and there is nothing to show for it but travelling.
The presidents really needs to put his acts together, so much noise and body language(odour) like they say but little or no action.

The earlier he does something about Biafra, the better for Nigeria if they actually still want that zone as part of this great country in the nearest future.

There are too many things to do than all this travelling.

Just recently France was attacked, did the president of France sit comfortably in his country or did he visit countries he thinks could be of help to him?

Most times I want to believe that this man Ben Murray-Bruce is soundly ok, but his constant unintelligent tweets lead me to believe otherwise. How can a man as highly placed as Ben Bruce be thinking like market women or beer parlor men? Its high time we stop all this useless party affiliation rubbish talks and work collectively to see the rise and betterment of Nigeria. No one is saying there should not be an opposition, there certainly should be an opposition because that's the beauty of democracy as it check-mates the activities of the ruling party, keep them on their toes and at the same time alert the public on bad policy implementations or bad governance, but the fact that you are playing opposition should not mean you should loose you senses, start saying rubbish and in the process misleading the ignorant masses who rely on you for information and ideas.

Now back to the constant misleading talks and name calling of our president because of his constant travels abroad for various meetings. It saddens me to see that people who are supposed to educate the masses about the very important reason why Mr President should embark on those trips are the very ones raising feeding the public with lies and evil talks. Now none of Mr President's travels are for pleasure, there are obligations that must be attended to, Mr President doesn't stay back in a country he visits after an official meeting to gallivant away or rest, He is always back in the country after each official duty is finished. That Sahara reporters who also should know better about the importance of Mr Presidents trips called him a JUNKETER should not be something we all should be happy about opposition or not.

I see nothing wrong in any of Mr Presidents trips as there are very important as what ever is discussed there concerns the world and concerns Nigerians too. We should rather be very impressive and proud of Mr Presidents efforts at curtailing his international trips expenses by cutting down number of officials that go with him to an unbelievable low number, what has never happened in Nigeria. We as Nigerians and Ben Bruce should recognize the efforts Mr President is putting in to positively reset the image of Nigeria abroad, given the damage it sustained over many years in the past. Marketing of Brand Nigeria is something that is very important and crucial now, and the president is doing a great job for the nation. He needs to be supported and not distracted and abused.

The Polish Consulate in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, has confirmed that a cargo ship carrying 16 Poles has been hijacked by Nigerian pirates. Cargo ship 'Szafir' (Sapphire).
The ship, named Szafir (Sapphire), had been sailing from the Belgian port of Antwerp to Onne in Nigeria,and it belongs to Polish company Euroafrica, based in Szczecin, north western Poland. It is understood that the Nigerian navy is engaged in a rescue operation. A woman whose husband is apparently on-board the vessel has told Poland’s TVN 24 station that
“more than a dozen sailors locked themselves in the engine room and turned off the engines.”

I have been responsible for my sons welfare ever since. My wife and I have no children yet but she accepts him as hers. My son’s mother recently lost her apartment and she asked if she and our son stay at my place till she can get someplace else. I talked to my wife about it and she only accepted that my son stay and not his mother.

My son’s mum begged me and I don’t know what happened but I let her in my home. My wife has been so upset ever since. I know I went against her wishes but I just think it’s only for a while and the only relationship I have with her is because of my child. What do I do now please.

'I'm very sad as I recount this story, why is it that no media house or even bloggers carried the news about the near crash of an Arik Air plane heading to Johannesburg from Lagos (which I thank God, we all on board escaped unhurt) and the ill treatment that Arik officials gave we passengers especially the unprofessional attitude and treatment by the Duty Manager.

Here is my story, I booked an Arik air flight heading to Johannesburg, South Africa from Lagos with flight number W3103. The flight was slated for 1.30 pm on the 24th of November 2015. I got to the airport around 11 am on this fateful day so I can check in and all that, now a flight that was slated for 1.30 pm after the normal Arik unexplained delay finally took off around 2.30 pm. On take-off, two birds mysteriously flew into the right engine causing the engine to shut down and two tyres getting busted, which forced the pilot to crash land. I thank God that no one on board was hurt but we all sure suffered emotional trauma. Trust me. Especially when the pilot told us how lucky we all were because he had excess fuel on the plane that would have easily triggered an explosion.

Now when we all alighted from the plane, some passengers who wanted to leave so as to catch the next available flight to South Africa with another airline were not allowed to leave by Arik Officials neither did Arik Air agree to refund their money. Arik air seized all our bags, and prevented anyone from leaving, A situation which caused great chaos at the airport. Arik Air's reason was that they are making plans to provide another plane that will convey the passengers to South Africa, so according to them we just have to wait for the plane as there was nothing they could do. people who asked for a refund were told that refund "can not be made" and even if they are going to refunded, it would take 10 working days for the process of refund to be done. Now tell me, what if I was a foreigner on business and I had no one in Nigeria or no other money on me, I would be practically stuck with Arik's inconsiderate decision.

Now fast forward to around 6 pm, We the passengers were still at the airport stranded with no solution from Arik or them even addressing us (remember that some people have been in the airport since morning) concerning the ill-fated incident or even serve us anything to drink or eat, not even water. Some passengers met the Duty Manger and asked for refreshments but were told that there was no refreshment and that everything was packed in the abandoned plane, this caused the passengers to get angry and you know what they say "A hungry man is an angry man". The Duty Manger had to run inside his office and locked himself up leaving the hungry and angry passengers outside shouting. I remember clearly the words of a South African as he begged the Duty Manger for what to eat, He said:
"Even a cup of water can't you provide for us? Do you want someone to collapse before you do something?"

By this time, Passengers broke airport protocol and went into restricted areas of the airport, a situation which caused FAAN and Immigration personnel to come out because of all the noise coming from the passengers. It was FAAN and Immigration intervention that made Arik Air officials to agree to release passengers bags and this was around 7.30 pm and some South Africans and Nigerians who had no where to go were already stranded at the airport with no option but to wait for Arik to provide another plane or take them to a hotel to sleep for the night. I was lucky to retrieve my bag and headed back home. I later got to know that the Passengers who had nowhere to go were taken to a hotel to sleep for the night and that they left for South Africa the next day November 25 after Arik provided another flight.

And I ask, why is it that Arik Air has not publicly addressed the issue or issue out an apology to those affected? Why is it that our aviation industry is silent about it? Why is it that Arik air is given the upper hand to maltreat its customers thereby portraying a bad image of our aviation system to the outside world? Why always Arik Air?

Right now I'm on my way to Ghana for an appointment, Arik air made me loose a contract in South Africa. I have forwarded Arik a mail as regards my refund, I will keep you updated as to when they pay or if they do not pay.

I really hope Arik Air will really look into this issue, if they have to do some reforms or change the orientation given to their staff, they really have to. And more especially am waiting for Arik Air to issue out an apology to the public or will they deny it too? A lot of things really needs to be looked into in our Aviation. I know we just got new ministers so I will be a hypocrite by calling for his head at this early stage, but our minister of Transport and Aviation for state really needs to check our airlines.

How the might have fallen, not only did the fall with a loud crashing sound, the fall has destroyed everything about them. Like I always say, whoever has contributed to loot our national treasury or has infact looted, the law should be bent and sometimes over looked and making sure they get the punishment due to them. Now am happy to know that the Federal Government has asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to revoke the bail granted the immediate past National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), on September 1, 2015 with respect to the four counts of money laundering and illegal possession of firearms for which he is already being prosecuted. According to the Federal Ministry of Justice, acting for the Federal Government, it sought the revocation of Dasuki’s bail in order to arrest him and others indicted for the alleged embezzlement of $2bn meant for the purchase of arms from 2007 to date. It said the indictment was contained in the interim report by the Committee Auditing Procurement of Arms/Equipment in the Armed Forces and Defence Sector from 2007 to date which was recently submitted to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Through its application filed last Friday, the Federal Government sought an order remanding the ex-NSA in prison, pending his trial. The Director, Public Prosecution of the Federation, Mr. Mohammed Diri, told Justice Adeniyi Ademola during the Monday’s proceedings that the...
