It is an open secret that the duo of Brother
Abubakar Audu and Mallam Abiodun Faleke
are behind the non-release of bailout funds
approved for Kogi State.
Brother Audu, during a recent campaign,
promised workers that he will clear all
outstanding salaries within a month if voted in
as governor again for a record third time. The
question I asked myself was, where will Audu
print over N40billion to fulfill this promise
within 1 month? The only answer is;
postponed release of bailout till January 28,
2016 so he can take the vain glory.
Ask Mallam Faleke, the imported running mate
to Audu, if he wants the bailout fund released
before February 2016, if he says yes, please
change his name to Mallam James Opuro
Faleke.
It is well known to Local government workers
and basic education teachers that the abysmal
fall in allocation accruing to local governments
is responsible for the unfortunate percentage
salary regime but they were unhappy with the
immediate past helmsmen who paid
themselves 100% salaries and allowances
while paying hardworking workers half salary.
Via divine intervention, President Buhari saw
their plight and made provision for states to
get low-interest bailout facility to offset the
salary arrears. It is divine because government
hardly gives or takes credit facility for
recurrent expenditure.
The announcement of bailout approval for Kogi
state was a soothing balm to the frayed
nerves and workers started thanking God and
President Buhari in earnest anticipation that
their day of joy is here. Days have passed,
weeks have passed, months are passing and
there seems to be no light at the end of our
tunnels! Who is responsible for this??!! This
can be best described as Failure at the Edge
of Success! Battle extenders are at work here!
Let me state here clearly to the duo who are
hell-bent on postponing workers’ day of joy
till February 2016, payment or non-payment of
salary arrears will not change our resolve to
vote who we want as governor come
November 21, 2015. We are not little children,
but fully grown adults and most of us have
made up our minds on who we will vote for
and who we will never vote for before now.
Please, stop playing politics with our hard-
earned salary!
I want to implore all Muslim Ummah and
Christian brethren to lift of their voices in
prayers unto Almighty God to:
1. Put all battle extenders in Kogi state to
shame
2. Deliver us from the principalities who
want to postpone our day of breakthrough
3. Give us the best come November 21
God will answer our prayers.
