BELIEVE IN GOD AND BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND SAY:YES I CAN CAUSE YOU REALLY CAN. HAVE A BLESSED WEEK
THE ADJACENT EPISODE 20: All credit goes to my big bros @ Deolu Bubble. This work wouldn't have existed without his contributions.
With the last instruction from his sponsor being
for him not to lose who he was tailing, Lanre
was sure the end of the show was drawing to an
end. He had employed all the known tactics he
knew about tailing people without getting
known. He allowed two cars in between them
with his eyes glued to the car he was tailing.
The LR4 seemed to be heading off the island and
towards Apapa. Lanre wasn’t sure if Alhaji
suspected he was followed and diverted but
either way, he would find out where he was
heading.
Apapa isn’t exactly tailing friendly as Alhaji’s SUV
kept swerving in-between containers making the
tailing difficult. With his absolute attention on
Alhaji’s car and maintaining visible distance from
him, Lanre had eliminated the space of 2 cars he
was using initially. He cut the distance down to
just a car in between them.
Lanre’s attention was broken by a call on his
phone. His caller was his sponsor and he picked
the call.
“Hello Lanre, hows it going?” Asked the caller.
“Well, I guess. We’re at Apapa right now” Lanre
replied.
“Apapahuh? ” The caller asked.
“Yes, I’m positive it’s Apapa, the Port is down
the road” Lanre restated his point.
“I don’t think Alhaji has any property in Apapa,
he particularly disliked the area, always
complained about how busy the roads are with
containers everywhere” The caller replied.
Lanre cut in “I will have to call you back because
he’s making a turn as we speak”
The line went off with Lanre’s voice being the
last. Alhaji’s SUV turned into a street, Lanre
turned in as well after about 4 seconds after.
The street seemed deserted; Lanre reduced the
acceleration as he moved through the houses on
the street. All the gates of the houses were
locked, he continued driving down the street. He
saw a gate closing down the road, he sped up to
the place where the gate was closing in and by
the time he got there, the gate was completely
shut.
He got out of the car, took of his top, put on
his bulletproof vest and put his shirt back on.
He brought out his 9mm handgun, tucked it
safely behind his back, put some catridges in his
denim pocket. He had a hunch that whatever lay
beyond the fence of the building was definitely
more than just an old man trying to escape
discovery.
Lanre got out of the car, moved close to fence.
The fence, not so high that he scaled it easily
and turned around to hear guns corking. He knew
the protocol of such things was to raise his
hands clearly above his hand, spreading his
whole fingers out and turn slowly.
When he fully turned around, he surveyed the
small army who numbered almost 15. They were
evenly spread around him in a semi circle. He
couldn’t find the old man who drove the car but
found another car driving out of the compound.
Lanre didn’t need anyone to tell him it would be
difficult to get out of this alive. Looking through
the boys he could tell they weren’t military
grade mercenaries; they were just thugs for hire.
One of them stepped forward to him clearly to
identify himself as the head of the gang.
He said “You do know it’s dangerous tailing a
retired Military man”
Lanre replied ignoring his earlier statement “So,
what’s this place?” Looking around the
compound, scanning around for exits other than
the one behind him, making himself at home in
the surrounding. The head of the gang couldn’t
sense fear from Lanre rather he could perceive
courage even in the position where he had been
outnumbered by them.
One of the trigger happy thugs corked the gun
but the head of the thugs signalled to him to
drop his gun. He obeyed the gesture and stood
at ease.
The leader continued “You seem rather at ease
despite how outnumbered you are, how is that
possible?”
Lanre smiled and whispered the following into
his ears
“The whole of your crew are untrained in
warfare, they just believe as far as they have a
gun nothing else matters but from what i can
see, some of the guns they’re carrying look dirty
and unclean.
There is a 70% chance of 80% of the guns
jamming when you open fire. Most of these guns
are used by your thugs to bully people that’s all.
There is no actual usage and if you don’t use a
gun just like another other metal device it will
rust and am banking on that for some of your
guns.
My friend, i used to be in the Army infact i was a
Major in the Army, Nigerian thugs don’t scare
me, all of you put together do not scare me. I
have gone for peacekeeping in Somalia, Sudan,
Liberia, Sierra Leone, folks there don’t have no
mercy. None of you would last a day in those
territories. I spent 5 years there, I was a
commanding officer for my squad.
So, a little charade of hoodlums with guns will
not scare me. Ok?
Now, I will ask you a few questions and you will
give me the answer to the questions i want or i
might have to test the loyalty of your men for
you or Alhaji.
Where is Alhaji heading to? ” Lanre said in the
most sincere and confident voice ever.
The leader couldn’t believe what he just heard,
he was furious, the anger brewing in him was like
a volcano. He wanted to move back to his thugs
were, but as he turned his back to Lanre, in a
rather swift and deadly calculated move, Lanre
took the head of the thugs captive hiding behind
his frame.
Clouding himself behind the frame of their
leader, not giving them a clear shot at taking
him out.
He pressed the tip of his 9mm handgun firmly
against the side of his head. The captive
immediately dropped his weapon. The thugs
weren’t sure of what to do next either to spray
their boss along with Lanre or just not do
anything.
Being a captive, their boss screamed at them to
all drop their guns and they obeyed. Lanre
carefully masked himself behind their boss
making sure that any shot fired will kill their
boss.
Lanre began his questioning behind their boss.
“If you remember correctly, I asked you a
question less than a minute ago, you didn’t
answer me. I wasn’t mad at you for not
answering. I mean….. it’s natural for you to
hesitate but walking out on mehuh Thats what I
couldn’t take” Lanre said.
The leader was breathing fast and hard,he could
feel the tip of the metal against his head
wondering what sort of maniac Lanre was.
He said, “I still will not tell you, you cant get out
of this alive; we have everywhere covered”
Lanre smiled and replied “Let me give you a
little analogy of how I will survive this with little
bruises anyway. I will make you instruct your
thugs not to follow us, which they will obey
because if you don’t my will cut the superficial
vein at the back of your arm.
You will bleed to death, your boys will try to stop
the bleeding but they wont be able to, by this
time, i would have scaled the fence into the
main street and scale another random fence in
the area before they can even get out of the
compound because i will throw a grenade to the
fuel tank beside the house.
Some of your boys will be wounded while some
will be trying to save your life, either ways there
is a low probability of more than 2 of your boys
coming after me.
Do I look like i cant handle 2 of your men?
So, I would say your best bet is to tell me now,
so i wouldnt have to cut your superficial vein”
Lanre explained
“Now, let me ask you again, Where is Alhaji
heading? ” Lanre asked.
“Porto Novo!” The leader screamed, the thought
of the complete foolproof plan scared him.
Lanre used him as a shield out of the house, the
thugs were all looking as Lanre escaped with
their Boss.
Lanre opened the boot of the car and pushed
him inside,he protested
“What of the grenade and all the plans you spoke
of earlierhuh
Lanre replied “I changed my mind! Moreover I
lied about the grenade”, he closed the boot of
the car and drove off. The thugs came out as
they heard the sound of the car but they couldnt
shoot.

THE ADJACENT EPISODE 19: Lurking 3 blocks away from Emmanuel’s house
was Lanre quietly monitoring the proceedings
from his car through his binocular, he noticed
one more person inside car meaning the Alhaji
Hassim suspect was in the car with them. He
saw as the gateman and maid following the car
out of the compound, running after it as they
left.
His first impulse was to act like a troubled
neighbor and go into the house which he did and
what he found surprised him.
Lanre moved closer to the house. He could hear
the gateman packing his bag, the man who acted
kind of feeble became a lot more agile. He
thought that the man had stolen some money
from the house to elope but then the automatic
gates opened so he dived behind a garden and
saw as the gateman left the house in the new
LR4.
Lanre thought to himself, something must be up,
he called his immobile sponsor and said.
“ The Alhaji Hassim has been picked up, however
his gateman is leaving the house in a car which
is kind of unusual” Lanre’s sponsor answered
“Describe the suspect to me.” Lanre responded
“He’s middle aged, light in complexion and about
6 ft, I didn’t get a good look at him.”
His sponsor replied “That’s not Alhaji Hassim,
describe the gateman to me.”
Lanre answered, “He’s elderly, grey hair in his
front patch, bald and grey moustache, looks like
he’s in his early 60s”
His sponsor getting tensed up asked “Did you
get to see his hand, Alhaji Hassim has a fetish
for wristwatches.”
Lanre replied “I was lurking in a small garden but
I think I saw his hand as he was driving off, he
seems to be wearing a Rolex wristwatch.”
His sponsor’s voice heightened “Lanre!! Where
is he now?”
Lanre replied “Am currently trailing him”.
His sponsor replied “Never lose sight of him
because my friend, you’re tailing Alhaji Hassim

THE ADJACENT EPISODE 19: Chike had put together a 6 man tactical unit to
visit the new address which was somewhere
along Bourdillon drive.
His body had been stitched and he wasn’t 100%
fit but in these situations he knew he still had to
push forward. The memory of Lanre diving into
him with a head-butt still stayed on his mind.
How could he have lost his guard as easily as
that?
This detective work had lessened his combat
awareness skill.
They arrived Bourdillon street, the house was an
architectural masterpiece, Chike rung the bell at
the gate and a voice came on the speaker;
“Who is that?” The voice was that of an elderly
man.
Chike answered “We’re here to speak with the
owner of this house, we’re from the Joint Task
Force”.
The speaker went silent and a few seconds later,
the automatic door opened.
The JTF cars moved in, a saloon car and another
Toyota Hilux.
Chike approached the gateman and asked for the
occupants of the house. The gateman was an
elderly but vibrant man who smiled a lot, he
tried to convince Chike that the owner of the
house were good people but Chike moved past
him to the front of the house. A few knocks on
the door and the maid came up to the door,
opened it and allowed them in.
The gateman was still standing with Chike as
they entered the house while the five other
assault team members were standing in the
compound. The gateman kept throwing himself
infront of Chike but by this time, the owner of
the house and his wife came downstairs to
ascertain why so much noise was emanating
from their living room. Chike could hear his
voice inquiring what the problem was.
The owner of the house was young, probably in
his mid 40s’, looked wealthy, several pictures of
him and his family on the wall. His wife looked
so exotic that there was no way she could’ve
been Nigerian. She certainly looked Asian.
As he descended from the stairs, Chike’s mind
was racing fast as he was close to uncovering
the identity of Alhaji Hassim. When he got to the
living room, he called the gateman and his maid
to the other part of the living room and went in
Chike’s direction.
Introducing himself, he started.
“Hi, you’re …” Inquiring who Chike was.
“My name is Major Chike Onihevo, I’m with the
JTF” Chike responded.
“Hi Chike, my name is Emmanuel Chukwuemeka
Okechukwu”.
Emmanuel spoke in the clearest and distinctive
of all accents.
“What is this about, it’s 6AM in the morning”
Emmanuel continued. “
I am here under the direct orders from the
Presidency to bring you into our office for
questioning” Chike said.
“Ordershuh? What is this about? ” Emmanuel
asked.
“Its about Oil bunkery and that’s all I’m allowed
to tell you” Chike answered.
“What in God’s name is this? I am a successful
Architect, I studied in the United Kingdom, I have
done different jobs for several international
companies in four different continents of the
World. Why will I be into Oil bunkering?
My father is one of the major shareholders in
Nigeria Breweries, which tells you that even if
I’m broke, there is family wealth to support me.
There must be a mixup somewhere”. Emmanuel
tried to defend himself.
“I’m sure you’re right but we can discuss this at
length when we get to our office”. Chike replied
The gateman jumped into the conversation
again, pointing to his boss as he spoke “My Oga
dey innocent, he’s a nice man, he no dey do bad
thing. Leave am alone”
Chike wasn’t inclined to answer the gateman but
he noticed the gateman was wearing a limited
edition Rolex wristwatch. He wanted to question
it but seeing the way the gateman was attesting
for his boss, he judged it as a gift given to him
by his boss.
Emmanuel’s wife as a lawyer was quoting
international law but she didn’t have the license
to practice law in Nigeria.
Chike replied her “Madam, this is Nigeria, your
law quotes will not work here, my advice is for
you to get his lawyers to meet us up at our
office.”
Emmanuel finally agreed to go with them, he got
into the sedan car and they zoomed off. The
wife got busy on the phone, she called everyone
they knew and were close to in Nigeria, South
Africa, London and the United States.

THE ADJACENT EPISODE 18: __
Nikky was getting impatient with what seemed
like she was alone and in the dark, with the text
messages and phone calls not coming in. Her
info had stopped streaming and all she knew was
that she was supposed to meet with the Alhaji
himself the day before. She had called Lana but
he didn’t show up and had since refused to get
back to her.
She had planned to go over for a visit in his
house but she’d been having the hunch not to.
She knew something was definitely wrong but
she didn’t know how to find out or who exactly
to meet or call to inquire about the
investigation. Unknown to Nikky, Mohammed had
been killed, hence the break in information flow.
Mohammed had recruited Nikky into his deep
cover with Alhaji Hassim and the operation had
been successful so far.
Staring vaguely outside the window of her 7th
floor room at the Oriental Hotel, she sought to
find inner peace and how to resolve her current
predicament.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a phone call.
She picked up the phone, she couldn’t recognize
the phone number.
Although, ideally she wouldn’t pick unknown
numbers but all the rules were out of the
window at that point.
“Hello”, she said.
“Am I speaking with Nike Osho, handle name
Nikky?” The caller asked.
“Yes. You may proceed”. She replied.
“This is Major General Collins Akpo, I am the
commanding officer for the Nigerian Army
Intelligence which you’re undercover for. Due to
the nature of your assignment, we have decided
to reduce the amount of people in our
department that you can contact. Mohammed,
your handler was your contact with us but he
has been murdered.
Mohammed was a contractor with us, the name
of the Nigerian Army has been slandered so
many times in the unmasking of the anonymous
Alhaji Hassim. We recruited you because of the
confidence we have in your work, also because
of your father’s position.”
Nikky was shocked as to how her father got into
the conversation, she cut in. “Sorry, did you just
mention my father?”
The Major General paused and asked Nikky if he
asked her to speak,
she responded No and he continued.
“As I was saying, as of now we do not have
leads on this case anymore, Mohammed had all
the information we’ve been working on for over
a decade and all his properties have been
confiscated by JTF & S.S.S.
We can move in and repossess the data he got
for us when he contracted for us but we do not
want things to get out of hand because, very
soon people will start asking questions and by
then we would already be in the media.
We would be suspected as the sponsor of the
Alhaji Hassim’s operations for the umpteenth
time. The reason I’m calling is to inform you
that, I will be the new handler for this operation.
From now on, your data stream comes from me,
I will text you what you require to proceed with
the rest of the operation. JTF’s Chike Onihevo is
the lead man on this operation, we will be
secretly stealing information from him, this
assignment is extremely covert.
We have an intel that they already hit one of
Alhaji Hassim’s hideout and they will be hitting
another. I’m also working on how to get you
into his area since he has never met you and I’m
sure you can blend into other situation. Do you
understand me? Do you still have the asset
intact as well?”
“Yes sir, he’s still with me “ Nikky replied.
“I will contact you with more details as they
unfold” The Major General said and the line went
dead.
WOW!!!! Nikky said when the conversation ended,
she laughed to herself as the Major General ran
through the whole conversation as if he had
rehearsed it like a speech. She felt a lot better
now that she had been kept in the loop.
” This Chike Onihevo name seems to ring a bell.
Since all this is clear now, maybe I can return to
the luxury of my own home”. She thought to
herself...... Fatalvelli, I still dey wait for my salah meat o

FOR EVERY BAD PERSON, THERE ARE 5 GOOD PEOPLE. NEVER GIVE UP ON LOVE OR FRIENDSHIP.
THE ADJACENT EPISODE 17: Chike was on his way out of the hospital where
he had gone to treat the wounds Lanre inflicted
on him earlier. He couldn’t but believe Lanre’s
earlier comments about him being sluggish, he
was quite sure that he would have beaten Lanre
up if they had the fight a few months ago.
The new case he’d been working hadn’t given
him the chance to be involved in combat.
A lot was going through his mind, Chuks’ death,
Karim’s death, Lanre entering the picture just
made many more things complex and also gave
answers to who was killing people secretly. He
still couldn’t figure out who Lanre was working
for, it had to be the guy who gave him the
anonymous tip about Mohammed. That was the
only logical reason or explanation he could
muster for the involvement of Lanre with all of
this.
The time was past 11PM and he was about to
get into his car, his phone started ringing which
he brought out, the screen, broken.
He picked the call and answered.
“Hello Chike”, Colonel Weyinmi said.
Chike was able to recognize the General’s deep
voice and he replied,
“Colonel, we went to the Dolphin Estate address
we got from Mohammed’s container”. Chike said
“Ok, so did you find him there?” Colonel asked.
“Alhaji Hassim wasn’t there, the house was
empty but Lanre intercepted us there” Chike
replied.
“Lanrehuh Which Lanre?” Colonel asked.
“Same Lanre Jimoh”, Chike replied.
“What has Lanre got to do with this, I know he
probably has a score to settle with you”, Colonel
replied.
“He has more than a score to settle, he is the
assassin killing people in this investigation, am
positive he’s the one that killed Karim &
Mohammed”, Chike continued.
“Can you find out who he’s working for? ”
Colonel asked.
“Am on it, sir” Chike replied.
“I have a new address for you, I think you
should get your team and visit the place, take
more people this time around, This rabbit hole
is deeper than we thought”, Colonel replied.
“Sir, we have lost Chuks, Lanre killed him during
our raid at Dolphin Estate”, Chike said.
“Good Lord!!! We need to find out what Lanre’s
intentations are with this whole operation, you
will receive a message on the address very
soon.” Colonel replied.
The phone line went dead, few seconds later the
new address came into Chike’s phone…..

Jibola sat in his comfy chair in his garden trying
to decipher the recent happenings around him.
First, he was talking to Karim, then all of a
sudden, Karim was blown to pieces in his own
car. Secondly, he was speaking to Mohammed,
he was also killed in his car.
Jibola was sure there was something amiss
somewhere, he had three leads that were
arguably his best choice, two of the leads were
dead, leaving him with one more. He has 2
options left, one which was to continue on his
quest with the last lead he had but that one was
too dangerous and wasn’t as sure as the two
killed earlier.
His other option was to forget the whole
revenge mission and invest the family money
into some other business that could fortify the
wealth of the already existing hidden dynasty.
Jibola told himself quitting this would only mean
Nikky got to walk away free from the
assassination attempt on his life and also he
would be betraying the confidence his wife had
in him to bring Alhaji Hassim to book on the
annihilation of their family that happened several
years ago.
Jibola thought to himself, he had no choice but
to proceed with his revenge quest. He picked up
his phone and dialed the phone number written
on a piece of paper for him. Jibola spoke
immediately the call was picked on the other
end.

THE ADJACENT EPISODE 16: Chike’s phone call met Lana just driving in from
a meeting with Nikky. Lana picked up
“Hello, Handler” Lana said
“Handler??” Chike responded
“Isnt that what you they call the agent in charge
of someone undercover?” Lana asked
Chike replied “Oh Yes, totally forgot protocol,
don’t mind me”
“I checked on your girlfriend, not sure if its
good news or bad news” Chike said
“What did you find out?” Lana asked impatiently
“She is also undercover like you, but i don’t
know which security body she is with, Interpol,
the ARMY, other smuggling cartel” Chike replied
“The ARMYhuh?” Lana inquired
“Yea, some years back, there was an intel that
said head of the smuggling ring was an Army
General, so they are also digging to find out
who it is” Chike said
“Anyway, my reason for calling is, do not i
repeat do not step out of your house for the
next couple of days, i will tell you when its okay
to go about your so-called business” Chike
continued
Lana was trying to tell Chike that Nikky had
secured a meeting with Alhaji for next day, but
Chike had already cut the phone off.

Chike and his team got to Lagos around 6PM,
went directly to Dolphin Estate. The case on
their mind dint allow them see the car lurking 6
houses away.
The soldier of Fortune waited patiently in his car
as he watched the team into into the gate of the
bungalow.
He got out of his car, re-arrange his knife into
his pocket, corked his gun, place it in the
holster in his waist. He walked towards the
building, in easy steps like someone lost in the
neighbourhood. Chuks was the one staying
outside the house, helping to do surveillance on
the premises.
The Soldier walked towards Chuks with a piece
of paper trying to ask about a location. As he
approached Chuks with the paper explaining the
predicament of not been able to find the house
he was searching for. Chuks also tried to explain
that he was new in the area but the stranger
wouldn’t listen trying to move closer to chuks
to show him the document.
Chuks collect the paper from the stranger and
also tried to look at it as it was getting dark,
the Soldier moved to Chuks side and snapped his
chuk’s neck, he put Chuk’s hand over his own
neck making it look like he was sick. Passersby
didn’t know the guy been dragged into the house
was dead, everyone passing thought he was
drunk and being helped.
The soldier dropped Chuk’s body into the house
of gate-man, brought out his gun and walked
towards the house.
Chike was inside the house searching, while Femi
was searching the back of the house, none of
them checked the gate to find out who just
came in, guessing it would have been Chuks.
Chike already guessed that this might be one of
the houses used by Alhaji Hassim but the house
looked deserted. It wasn’t so difficult to break
into the house.
Chike was busy searching through the drawer of
the living room when the soldier came into the
living room. He said
“Hello Chike, its nice to see you once again”
Chike knew the voice but couldn’t yet recognize
the voice, so he turned back, the Soldier charged
at him just a few steps separated them and
jumped into the air and sent his forehead right
into Chike nose….. breaking it.
Chike crashed against the concrete wall behind
him, his nose began to bleed, staining his face,
affected his vision. He recognised the fight
pattern to Lanre, a soldier he served with in
Congo, he recommended him for discharge,
Lanre was behind stealing from the banks,
robbing rich indigenes of the nations, they were
sent for peace-keeping. When Lanre came back,
he was left with nothing but hatred for Chike.
His partner in the new smuggling business had
promised to help me find Chike.
With Chike’s bloody nose, he said “Thats no way
to greet an old friend, Lanre” laughing with a
bloody face
Lanre laughed, As Chike was talking, he grabbed
a bottle of red wine on the table and stoned it
at Lanre but he was able to dodge by covering
his face, the impact of the bottle met his elbow.
Chike rushed Lanre as soon as he threw the
bottle at him, sending heavy punches into
Lanre’s ribs and face.
Lanre replied “Now, this is getting interesting.”
The fight had begun, Lanre was also well trained
in boxing, he withstood all of Chike’s jabbing at
the same time going down slowly like he was
tired, he got to the ground and waited patiently
and made sure that Chike’s jaw was underneath
his head then stood up with all the strength he
had in him.
The impact of Lanre’s head jamming into Chike’s
jaw was nerve-wrecking as Chike was sent into
the air landing on the glass table, shattering it
to the ground. He was still conscious but on the
ground, Lanre pounced on him and continued
beating him, Chike was holding on for the right
moment he would open up, he punched him in
the face pushing him off him.
They both stood at the opposite sides of the
room, clothes torn and soaked in blood gushing
from their ribs.
Chike asked
“Is this the second round of the fight at
Congo?”
Lanre replied with blood stain on his face “You
wish!” using his hand to wipe away blood from
his face.
“You know you could have simply told them to
give me a warning rather than dismissing me, i
served 15 years in the Army“ Lanre screamed at
Chike
Femi was still outside, dorking behind the living
room listening to the conversation between
Chike and another guy, wondering who was in
the bloody fight with Chike but he knew better
than to interrupt.
“Lanre, that was the 4th time you were doing
that, i wasn’t sure if you wanted to stop anytime
soon, i cant be lying to our superiors about your
urge to steal from those people” Chike
responded violently pointing at Lanre.
“You’ve lost your touch, if it was before i
couldn’t take that cheap headbutt shot at you.
You know i had a chance at killing you, i was the
sniper in Abuja, i could have killed you but this is
more fun” Lanre replied
“I was caught unaware in this room, who is your
boss on this?” Chike responded
“Chike, that excuse is for the weak, you should
be prepared all the time. Even, the boyscout
know that” Lanre screamed.
“Ofcourse, you know I’m not telling you who my
financier is, but i would be glad to let you know,
I’m doing all this for free” Lanre continued,
been proud of himself.
“I will spare your life, Chike just so you can re-
arrange yourself, ’cause I’m sure we will meet
again.” Lanre replied
“Be sure, you tell your fool behind the house
not to follow me, I would hate if you lose 2
people out of your team in one day.” Lanre
continued.
“You killed Chuks! The battle is between me and
you, don’t bring anyone else in” Chike charged
at him.
“Well, he was at the gate and wasn’t very
observative, i apologise for your loss anyway”
Lanre replied, leaving the living room.
“What do you want from all of this?” Chike
asked, blood still dripping from his nose
“To show you that am a better soldier than you,
i should have been the leader of the unit and
also pay for all those years i was humiliated”
Lanre replied
“You fucking put yourself before anybody in
missions, Lanre. You sent 5 people to their
deaths just because you wanted the diamonds in
that commissioner’s house during the peace-
keeping” Chike shouted back.
“Irregardless, go to the hospital, treat yourself
you know this is just the beginning” Lanre said,
he could feel adrenaline pumping into his body.
Lanre left the house.
Femi came in from the backdoor, and saw Chike
blood soaked;
“Who was that” Femi asked
“A friend, a brother now turned an enemy”
Chike replied.
“This solves all the cases of people being
assassinated. We just need to know who he is
working with” Chike continued
We need to keep looking at Mohammed’s hidden
investigation room, Chike said.
“Alhaji isn’t here, this is just the beginning.
Lanre will not stop until one of us is dead” Chike
