Using my Nokia 5130 Nine years back to make political comments on social media was a passion I could give up almost anything for, later as a student I sometimes had to ditch classes to travel for media trainings and political meetings leading to poor grades coupled with campus politics .

However , landing my Ist job after school as a political media assistant didn't come as a suprise to me in the course of my job I've met uncountable personalities .

Meeting General Ibrahim Babangida was one of the high points of my job after hearing so much about him both good and bad. When you hear about the hilltop mansion in Minna you expect to see a mighty castle but it's just a modest building designed to taste .

After so much scrutiny I finally got to meet the man himself and some few minutes with him.

He's humility really got me. I didn't get to take pictures of other parts of the building but it was indeed an amazing experience .

Pentecostals still don't undestand that the Holy communion is the Body and blood of Jesus Christ himself so it is actually Jesus Christ, how can you dispose the body and blood of Christ? ??

PoliticsOrji Uzor Kalu‘s N3.2b Case: Witnesses On The Run, Says Efcc by Handsomecole(op): 9:06pm On Jan 16, 2018
Orji Uzor Kalu‘s N3.2B CASE: WITNESSES ON THE RUN, SAYS EFCC

The ongoing criminal trial of a former governor of Abia State, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, was stalled on Tuesday due to the inability of the prosecution to bring to court one of its major witnesses, one M.A. Udoh.

The prosecuting counsel, Mr. Rotimi Jacobs (SAN), urged the court to grant him a short adjournment to enable him to locate and bring Udoh, a retired employee of the Abia State Government House, Umuahia, to court to testify.

But the defence counsel – Prof. Awa Kalu (SAN), Chief Solo Akoma (SAN) and Chief K.C.Nwofor (SAN) – vehemently opposed the application for an adjournment, describing it as frivolous.

They expressed disappointment at Jacob’s request for an adjournment, noting that they had abandoned every other thing and flown to Lagos from Abuja just to ensure that there was no further delay in the case that had lasted for over 10 years.

“We are not going to agree to a request that will force Your Lordship to close for one week,” Kalu fumed.

Akoma, while aligning himself with Kalu, condemned the approach taken by Jacobs to bring his witnesses to court.

He recalled that on November 30 last year while the judge was adjourning the matter till Monday, Jacobs had told the court that he had four more witnesses to call, including Udoh.

He wondered why any of the other three witnesses was also not produced in court, even if the prosecution had a difficulty bringing Udoh.

“That shows the frivolity of the steps they have taken to bring their witnesses to court,” Akoma said.

He urged the court to either foreclose the prosecution’s case or if the request for an adjournment would be granted, the court should order the prosecution to bear the cost of the defence’s transportation and hotel accommodation.

This, he said, was in line with the provisions of Section 396(6) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015.

Toeing the same line of argument, Nwofor said it was regrettable that since the trial resumed, all the adjournments had been at the instance of the prosecution.

He said on account of the slow pace of the case his client, which is a company, had lost a huge amount in foreign currency in terms of contracts.

“We had 3,000 workers who have lost their jobs; we had 250 expatriates, they have lost their jobs and my friend is here asking for an adjournment,” he added.

Nwofor added that he had been unable to get his legal fee as his client was broke and was eagerly waiting for the trial to end.

He urged the court to award a cost of N10m against the prosecution in favour of his client for the delay.

But the prosecutor, Jacobs, argued that the case was delayed for over 10 years at the instance of the defendants who pursued an interlocutory appeal all the way to the Supreme Court.

He said it was due to the time spent by the defendants pursuing an interlocutory appeal that the prosecution was experiencing difficulty in assembling its witnesses some of whom had died, retired or relocated out of jurisdiction.

“If they had allowed us to go on within two to three years of the case, all our witnesses would have been assembled in one day,” he said, urging the judge to grant his request for an adjournment and to reject the award of cost.

In his ruling, the presiding judge, Justice Mohammed Idris, described the development as unfortunate.

He noted that the case had been adjourned on four different occasions at the request of the prosecution.

“Where a witness that ought to attend court, fails to attend court and summons has been issued and served on the same witness, then the prosecution would pursue the appropriate provisions of the ACJA to compel the attendance of the witness in court…This trial will no longer be adjourned on account of unavailability of witness to attend court… It is unfortunate that a trial, which has been adjourned for hearing from day to day could not proceed due to witness unavailability,” the judge said.

He, however, conceded to an adjournment, warning that it would be the last of its kind.

The matter was subsequently adjourned until January 22 and 23, 2018.
The ex-governor of Abia State, Kalu, is being tried on 34 charges alongside Udeh Udeogu and Slok Nigeria Limited.

They were accused of conspiring among themselves to divert a total of N2.9bn from the coffers of the Abia State Government.

But the defendants pleaded not guilty .

Fulani Herdsmen: Orji Kalu reacts, says he was quoted out of context

January 15, 2018

The former Abia State governor, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, through his Media Aide, Kenneth Udeh, has finally reacted on the alleged media report he was quoted as saying that “Those Killing Nigerians are not Fulani Herdsmen”

Kalu was reacting following a statement credited to him while addressing newsmen in his country home in Igbere, Abia State, where he said that “aggrieved Politicians and runaway insurgents (Boko Haram) from Niger Republic might be behind those unleashing the mayhem on various parts of the country in the guise of Fulani cattle herders.

The statement which sparked missed reactions online following the recent killings by the herdsmen in Benue and Taraba States. Some Nigerians lambasted the former governor for defending the killer herdsmen.

Responding to the peoples reactions in a statement sent to ABACITYBLOG – Chief Kalu said he was quoted out of context, according to him, “Fulani herdsmen may have been involved but It would be highly erroneous and irrational to conclude that all Fulani herdsmen who are nomadic in cattle rearing are killers and generally responsible for the attacks.

ALSO READ:Those Killing Nigerians are not Fulani Herdsmen, they’re from Niger Republic, says Kalu

The full statement reads:

Our attention has been drawn to the torrents of reactions from various members of the public which has since trailed recent interview of Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu with newsmen on the 7th of January in the Igbere Country home of the former Governor of Abia State over his comments as reported by various sections of the Media that Fulani herdsmen are not responsible for the attacks and killings of innocent Nigerians in various parts of the country.

Despite the fact that Chief Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu the former Governor of Abia State is entitled to his opinion as a law abiding citizen of the country as enshrined in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, we would like to categorically state that he was quoted out of context with regards his response to the question of what he thinks over the issue while Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu expresses his sympathy to victims of the attacks ,the general public are encouraged to understand that when critical national se issues arises it is pertinent to look at the causes and solutions to those issues from various angles in order to assist the Army and other sister security agencies solve the problem.

It is well known to every well informed Nigerian that the Nigerian Army including the coordinated joint border task force in Nigerian border countries have dealth decisively with the Boko – Haram terrorists in their various enclaves and strong holds in the Northern parts of Nigeria as well as border countries like Niger. Dr . Orji Uzor Kalu from the interview holds the opinion which actually means that isn’t it possible that such terrorist elements may have “infiltrated” the rank and file of the Fulani herdsmen to continue to perpetrate it’s nefarious evil activities of terrorism by killing people in such barbaric manners ?

There may have been a few instances which the Fulani herdsmen may have been involved but It would be highly erroneous and irrational to conclude that all Fulani herdsmen who are nomadic in cattle rearing are killers and generally responsible for the attacks.

Nigeria even before her independence has lived peacefully with the Fulani herdsmen rearing their cattle in various parts of the country. Dr. Orji Kalu’s opinion poses a series of questions that if well answered might just be the solution to the incessant attacks. That after all these years of the peaceful cattle rearing activities of Fulani herdsmen in Nigeria why is it now that the elections are close by that the attacks are on the rise??

Since the inception of the Administration of President Buhari our gallant Nigerian soldiers under the President have been well equipped without it’s funds being embezzled or diverted to enrich a few in the society, unlike the past administration which has led to the nefarious activities of Boko Haram being reduced to it’s barest minimum , isn’t it possible that a few aggrieved from the past administration may engaged in deploying their stolen funds to sponsor terrorists from neighbouring countries to infiltrate the Fulani herdsmen under the guise of cattle rearing and land disagreement to perpetrate these attacks inorder to discredit the administration of the President in his fight against corruption and terrorism which the past administration failed woefully in??

The opinion of Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu remains that of his , he may be right or wrong. What matters most is for the security agencies to live up to it’s reaponsibilties by making sure the those resonsible behind the attacks including its sponsors are caught and made to face the full wrath of the law regardless of their tribe and religion.

While Dr. Kalu commends the Nigerian Media the members of the public and good people of Nigeria are encouraged to be properly guided with statements as we seek a lasting solution these attacks.

Kenneth Udeh
Media Assistant to His Excellency Chief Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu former Governor of Abia State.

This lady needs to be schooled by history , the acceptance of the Nigerian Music world wide today didn't come as an accident , it was a a result of hardwork , creativity and ingenuity. She needs to undrstand that in the past other African songs were more popular than Nigeria in the world . I remember growing up and listening to the like of Bob Marley, Alfa blonde, Marian Markaba, Congo Music was also a very good delight, Infact those days if you have not played Raggae Music you have not even started, not also forgetting Brenda fassie and a whole lot more.

In summary we Nigerians love and play good African songs , but our current success is not by accident it's by hardwork they too should go back and learn.

"2019" Orji Kalu in closed door meeting with Senator in Umuahia.

Former two time Governor of Abia state Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu and distinguished former Senator Chris Adighije last Wednesday reinstated their commitment to ensure that the APC takes over Abia State come 2019 and to support the re-election of President Buhari. This emerged after a closed door meeting between the duo which lasted over an hour at the Olokoro Umuahia country home of the Senator.
Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu who arrived the residence of the Senator around 3pm was warmly received by the Senator and some other party loyalists after which they both proceeded straight upstairs for discussions . After the meeting both Dr. Kalu and Senator Adighije declined to respond to questions from journalists , however after all efforts an inside source who wants to remain anonymous disclosed to us their agreement to deploy every available resource to rescue the state from the current misgovernance of the PDP leadership which has brought untold hardship on the people.
According to the source, Dr. Kalu and the Former Senator resolved to work together to ensure that President Buhari gets overwhelming support from the Southeast to avoid the a repeat of past mistakes in the 2015 election.
The source further revealed , that one of the major issues discussed at the hour stretched meeting centered on the choice of a credible Governorship candidate of the APC that will match the present Governor for the 2019 state election . He said that apart from where the candidate will emerge from that they both committed to galvanize every resource including finance to make sure that the APC takes over the state in 2019.

according to the source kalu assured the senator " You know for long I have been on the sidelines concerning this Governorship matter because I have in been in opposition, but this time around i will put in my money and every resource available to ensure APC captures this State. We will match them money for money, power with power and resource to resource. No stone will be left unturned, we will fight with all we have to rescue this state

According to the source the former Governor was so bitter with the way things have turned out in the State especially with the level of poverty that has taken over the entire state "can you believe workers going for Christmas without their salaries? this never happened when we were in government. why won't there be crime when people cannot meet the simplest duty of feeding their families? why won't there be corruption when workers are denied their wages? How can all the elders keep quite in this state and allow our collective resources to be shared by few individuals? Senator, this must stop and we in APC must give the state back to the people, we must rescue our people from this poverty and I assure you 2019 is the deadline" Kalu assured the Senator.

He said that Dr. Kalu insisted that in order to avoid a repeat the mistakes of the past which has set the state backward in development the PDP structure must be uprooted by all means possible.
Also discussed is the forthcoming APC rally in the state billed for Tuesday the 9th of January 2018. The duo stated their commitment to make it a successful one.
Quoting the former Governor the source said "The rally will be an opportunity to give hope to our people in Abia State and a new dawn for Ndigbo".
Others present at the residence of the Senator were Hon . Martins Azubuike Former Abia House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Chidi Nwosu former House of Reps member Umuahia South Constitutuency , Dr. Johnny Nwabisi APC leader Abia Central and Chief Igwe Laz Onuwuneme.
