Here I stand!

I have quite a number of reasons to support the Bello ticket.
I have got young friends who have been given different appointments into the Kogi Government. With Bello as President, the youth will definitely take over in Nigeria.

Anyone who believed Kogi spent 7b to build a tent needs to see a doctor ASAP.
This is Kogi's isolation center and the Govt didn't spend anything close to 7billion in building this

Then someone sits in his corner and forms a news headlines that a tent was built for 7billion.

The tent was even a federal medical centre project, not Kogi state govt

Politics / Gov Yahaya Bello Congratulates New President-general Of Ohanaeze Ndigbo by happiness32: 3:57pm On Jan 13, 2021
GOVERNOR YAHAYA BELLO OF KOGI STATE CONGRATULATES NEW PRESIDENT-GENERAL OF OHANAEZE NDIGBO

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has praised the republican nature of Ndigbo which he said was again on display in the election of a renowned diplomat, Professor George Obiozor, to lead the prestigious apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

The Governor noted that with the election of the professor of international relations to pilot the affairs of their people, Ndigbo are sending a strong message to the rest of the country, and indeed the world, that they remain willing to find common grounds with any other group ready to reciprocate their gesture.

He said the only thing left for the erudite Professor Obiozor, a former Nigerian ambassador to Cyprus, Israel and the United States to do is to chart a progressive path for Ohanaeze which accommodates Nigeria's diversity and democracy and he would find that all people of goodwill stand ready to cooperate with him.

Noting that charity begins at home, Bello explained that more important than any outside support is the support that the new Ohanaeze leadership will get from her own people. He therefore called on all Igbo sons and daughters to rally round their new leaders even as he promised to visit him physically soon in the spirit of true brotherliness.

Governor Bello, who said that the struggle to entrench democracy deeper into the fabric of Nigerian society is a team sport noted that Ndigbo remains one of the Most Valuable Players (MVP) on the field. He also repeated his famous quote, 'Ndigbo needs Nigeria as much as Nigeria needs Ndigbo'.

Governor Yahaya Bello pledged the support of his administration for the new Ohanaeze Ndigbo leadership pointing out that Kogi State shares many similarities with Ndigbo including contiguous territories, language and culture. The State helmsman also pointed out that a significant population of Ndigbo live and do business across Kogi State, with one of them, Moses Okezie-Okafor from Ukpor, Nnewi South LGA of Anambra State occupying a seat in the Kogi State Executive Council over which he presides.

'Kogi State has benefited from her relationship with the peace-loving and mercantile Igbo nation and has built a symbiosis with them over the centuries which we will like to expand in the days and years ahead in partnership with Prof. Obiozor and his team', he said.

Governor Yahaya Bello therefore advised the new Ohanaeze leader and a former Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, NIIA, to invest his considerable experience and contacts, both within and outside Nigeria, to make sure Igboland in particular and Nigeria in general enjoy unity, peace and progress during his tenure.

The Kogi State Governor saluted the outgoing President-General of Ohanaeze, Chief John Nwodo, for a successful tenure even as he wished the incoming President-General and all the other new executives of Ohanaeze Ndigbo a productive time in office.

Politics / Kogi Overtook Lagos Because Yahaya Bello Refused To Lockdown - Opinion by happiness32: 11:13am On Dec 23, 2020
Opinion: NIPC, Kogi Overtook Lagos Because Yahaya Bello Refused To Lockdown

Covid-19 Lockdown: Kogi Overtakes Lagos in Investments, NIPC

Do you remember when Governor Yahaya Bello said this in May 2020?

"If basic livelihoods cannot be sustained, poor people will prefer the loitery of infections over the certainty of starvation"

Do you also remember when Governor Yahaya Bello said this in June 2020?

"Why lockdown our economy over a disease that has 99.9% recovery rate? The effects of lockdown on the country far supersedes the gain".

Fast forward to this day, December 2020, the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) has just reported that Kogi state has overtaken all states in the Federation including Lagos, to become Nigeria's top Investments destination for the third quarter of year 2020.

Recall that earlier this year, all states in Nigeria locked down their economies and closed businesses causing a drastic fall in IGR, unemployment and total economic shut down, with the 2nd recession in 5years and worst in over 30years.

Kogi State was the only state that didn't experience Lockdown.

What is the story today?
Kogi has moved from a middle position to become first amongst all states in Nigeria as the number one investment hub.

The drop in Investments across other states has been attributed to the impact of COVID-19 and its global economic impact.

So, Yahaya Bello allowed Kogi's economy to continue to flow and refused to lockdown. But other states allowed lockdown and Kogi has overtaken everybody in investments

The Commission publishes NIPC Intelligence Newsletter 6 days a week, and through it, a total of 13 projects across 8 states were tracked. 3 of the investment announcements were start-up enterprises in health care delivery, and information and communication technology (software development).

Kogi State received the largest share of the investments announced with US$1 billion, followed by Lagos State with US$239 million, Ogun State with US$75 million and Cross Rivers State with US$15 million.

On a sector basis, the top destinations were the transportation sector which received (66%), manufacturing (27%) while information and communication, and mining and quarrying received 3% and 2% respectively. Other sectors, agriculture, and human health and social services collectively accounted for the remaining 2%.

NIPC’s Intelligence Newsletter publishes Nigerian investment-related news culled, from various sources. It is also reported that there is a 57% fall in these Investments across the country compared with the 2019 report.
While for Kogi, it is an incredibly increase in Investments.

Gov. Yahaya Bello predicted the downfall of our economy with the lockdown imposed, now it's obvious what he warned Nigerians about.

The Report gives a sense of investors’ interest in the Nigerian economy. NIPC did not independently verify the authenticity of the investment announcements but is working on tracking the announcements as they progress to actual investments.
