The Oyo State Government, on Monday, says it has set up a Special Joint Security Post, set up at Mamu village – a border between Ibadan and Ijebu Ode in Ogun state is to complement efforts of the security operatives in nipping insecurity, especially issues of kidnapping, in the bud.
Gov Seyi Makinde, who made this disclosure while on inspection tour to the border area, declared that the Ibadan-IjebuOde road had been in the news recently for kidnapping of travellers plying the route.
He said the Mamu Joint Security Post was set up to secure the entry and exit points in the state, adding that the Mamu post was a pilot project that would soon be replicated in all the borders with other states.
According to the governor, there is CCTV camera at the post; that is being monitored from the Security Control Room in Ibadan, “So if there is anything going on here security personnel can quickly be alerted and deal with the situation appropriately.
“For us, if we know people coming into the state we can trace them or if any crime is committed within the state and the criminals want to escape from the state’ we can activate the process, whereby they can be apprehended at the exit point here.”
Makinde assured the people of the state of his administration’s committment towards provision of adequate security of lives and property. He added that his administration, in collaboration with the security agencies in the state, were working round the clock to ensure that residents of the state were secured.
Heads of security agencies in the state; Ngozi Onadeko – Oyo State Police Commissioner and Iskilu Akinsanya – Oyo State Commadant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps(NSCDC) took part in the inspection tour. Gov Makinde later handed over nine patrol pickup vans to the Police and NSCDC; five pickup vans for the Police and four pickup vans for NSCDC
1. Is it overpopulation that is responsible for d few spaces?
2. What will china, india & indonesia say?
I have answered you above. A bigger Economy can contain the millions of people..You people have a small and not existing Economy yet you are having children in their millions. You will keep on having issues like this. Even India as them plenty reach them get electricity,or you don't know electricity pushes a country forward? small electricity you don't have.. The Economy is in shambles yet you are having children
Where is the space to admit thousands of graduates?where is it? Where? that is why companies will bring policies that will try to cut down on the total number of applicants
Veekid you see what I was telling you the other day?A whole Twitter can never ever come to present day Nigeria. Jack and his fellow Americans do not deal with sentiments when going to a country, they deal with facts
And the fact of the matter is that, the Nigerian Business space isn't good for business

Weregonnalose: That kind of mistake is a bad mistake brada. She has been in that profession for 20 yrs at least so she should be dealt with for involuntary homicide but I don't feel bad for the criminal who got killed.
He was complying thinking he was being arrested for expired car particulars or something but freaked out and tried to escape when he heard they had warrant for his arrest. He must have killed someone and he tries to escape because he thought they knew.
He is a gang member and brandish illegally owned gun with money all on his social media. Warrant says gun related misdemeanor. He could get 90days in jail or a fine or community service.
But he is also involved in robbery as well. Maybe another reason he tried to escape. Putting pictures of him and a baby saying how nice he is, is what is wrong with this fucking country.
They raised a criminal. No compensation. Although they will sue. But the state should not be compensating criminals who are likely or have already taken human life or robbed them
Because he was facing attempted robbery case means he should now be killed? Why shifting the goal post?
The facts of the matter is this,She made a costly mistake that can happen to anyone, yes anyone..even doctors with years of experience in medicine do make mistakes. But on this, she will have to pay. A jail term is waithing for her and likewise they will pay the family too compensation
All these blabla about the victim this and that is rubbish. His so called crimes wasn't even murder so we are not bothered.. someone lost his life, and the person that made the mistake will pay for it
Law enforcement must be protected and supported, but when they make mistakes, they should also pay for their mistakes.. That is my take!
PrideofLincoln1: Kim Porter the killer and the Police Chief, Tim Gannon of Brooklyn Center resigned following the outrage over the killing of Daunte Wright. The plot thickens. The key question is how do a 26 year police veteran do not know the difference between a Gun and a Tazer ?. That's the million dollar question. The mystery continues.
Brother,I think this was a honest mistake on the part of Kim. Mistakes do happen as we are all not perfect. even in science and medicine.
But she should not be left off the hook just like that. she should pay heavily for that costly mistake so that Family and Friends of Daunte can find closure.
Compensation for the family and some prison term for Kim
The embers of disagreement between former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose; and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, seemed to be permanently quenched on Monday when the former declared his submission to the leadership of the latter.
Speaking at the Wocdiff Centre, Osogbo, venue of the Zonal Congress of the Peoples Democratic Party, Fayose acknowledged, “The Governor of Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde, my brother, my friend and by the grace of God, our leader.”
The ex-Ekiti State governor also apologised to members of the party not in his faction for all they have all gone through over the years.
“I and Seyi Makinde are one from the beginning,” Fayose said, praying that the tenure of Makinde as the party leader in the South-West will usher the PDP into a season of great accomplishments.
“Nothing last forever, if I offend anybody, I apologise,” he added.
Of late, the leadership of the South-West arm of the PDP had been embroiled in crisis with Fayose and Makinde at the centre of the ruckus.
Makinde, a first term governor, is the only PDP governor in the South-West zone while the other five states in the region are ruled by the governors of the All Progressives Congress.
The leadership tussle between Makinde and Fayose had since generated verbal confrontations.
The PUNCH had earlier reported that Fayose threatened to “work against” Makinde in the 2023 elections if the Oyo governor continues to “disrespect” him.
However, the party last Wednesday called a meeting and settled the differences between Makinde and Fayose.
