It was widely reported by the Tinubu Campaign that Senator Kashim Shettima led other members of the Tinubu campaign Team to host FCT and Kogi Delegates in Abuja on Saturday, 14th May, 2022. This news did not come as a surprise to many in the light of the fragile health of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Investigations revealed that the decision to have Senator Kashim Shettima lead the Tinubu team was taken at the last minute after several treatment bouts and medications failed to put Tinubu in good shape for the meeting with the Delegates. Tinubu has had an increased level of fits and the spasmodic episodes have increased because of the steroids administration that appear to have exacerbated the Parkinson’s Syndrome, a condition that he’s been struggling with. Recall that Muhammed Ali, the famous American boxer died from a similar condition when he succumbed to the degenerative condition imposed by Parkinson’s Syndrome. Keeping Asiwaju on the delegates campaign trail in the past weeks has taken its toll on the Lagos strongman who has become severely weakened by this physiological and mental condition that only worsens by the day without any scope for enhancement or getting better. Despite claims that he needs only a working brain to be President to “run” into the villa and run Nigeria, it is becoming increasingly clear that Nigeria will be ruled by proxies like Shettima who is now meeting on his behalf with delegates because of his unavailability. Also, close associates have disclosed that Asiwaju’s incoherence when speaking and his shaky hands are attributed to the Parkinson’s disease that he refuses to disclose to Nigerians and delegates. In fact, Asiwaju is unable to hold a microphone for more than five minutes without his hands shaking uncontrollably and this explains why he is always fitted with a lapel microphone attached to his clothing. In addition to the prostate gland issues that are under management and led to his now infamous incontinence issues a few months ago (peeing on his clothing), his physicians are advising more bed rest in between his trips so that he can recover appropriately. His insistence on the steroids administration to energize his abilities coupled with a history of long psychoactive drug use has only made the episodes more intense, this associate disclosed. Some delegates from Kaduna who insisted on anonymity said that Asiwaju can clearly not face the rigour of a general election campaign if he can not even withstand visiting a small set of delegates. He also said he, like many other delegates, showed up to receive his own part of the Lagos largesse that Asiwaju obtains from Lagos tax payers. https://m.youtube.com/shorts/FxwuRXkq2yI https://headlinenews365.com/site/blog/2022/05/16/asiwaju-takes-bed-rest-as-associates-take-reins/ |
Senator Anyim Pius Anyim is a Nigerian politician and businessman that hails from Ebonyi state of southeast Nigeria. Like some others, he is aspiring to become Nigeria's next President under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party. But unlike others, he remains the best fit and most prepared for the job. Here are the reasons; 1. He is the most experienced in the presidential race that boasts both legislative and executive experience at the highest level of government, having served meritoriously as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and President of the Senate. As Senate President, Senator Anyim brought stability to the leadership of the National Assembly, a legacy that is being enjoyed by his successors in office. As SGF, Senator Anyim was the engine room of the Goodluck Jonathan administration that recorded a lot of successes in all areas of the economy. His role in that administration is unparalleled. Senator Anyim boasts of strong network across the entire geopolitical zones beyond his southeast zone. He's also well respected among political and business elites. Furthermore, Senator Anyim plans for Nigeria are what is needed at this critical time. He has shown beyond measures of his capacity to steer the sinking ship of Nigeria State. By Ibrahim Rahman Living above the rhetoric of claims of flashy economic metrics, bricks and mortars, amid testimonies of restricted achievements within the perimeters of just a state government, Nigerians are now beginning to ask for a presidential candidate who possesses courage ..., who has got records of areas where he had intervened to unify and rescue Nigeria in the past. The *courage* that Nigerians seek is not the courage to cause political squabbles or elicit a national unrest in the system, but a courage buoyed by humility, bravery, love and sacrifice for Nigeria. A courage that comes owing to the size of Nigeria. A courage that inclines to unify and build Nigeria. A courage that asserts the gallantry and candour to handle the Nigeria’s defence and treasury. A courage to take calculated risks, invest and expand resources, and not becoming a mere unambitious hoarder. A courage to fight insurgency and corruption in Nigeria. Yes, courage is the latest clamour and demand; that the next president of Nigeria should have courage to initiate, coordinate and implement policies. From the PDP presidential aspirants thus far, it will not take a long haul to discover those that can project courage among these great distinguished Nigerians. But aspirants who have National Experience and Exposure in their kitties are not many. Thus far, we have examined all aspirants both in PDP and APC, suffice to recommend that Senator Anyim Pius Anyim qualifies most for this emerging demand, having served as head and chairman of Nigerian National Assembly, and as head of Administration and Secretary to the Government of Federation (SGF), Federal Republic of Nigeria. Also, Senator Anyim is an astute legal luminary. He is an embodiment of the three arms of government. Yes, foremost among others is Senator Anyim. Anyim has displayed national courage and bravery in the past. For instance, in the year 2000, when the Nigerian Senate was radiating shows of mess and mockery; when the Executive Arm of Government was in a hurry to bury and make the Legislative Arm of Government as its appendage, by lacing out banana peels and causing disaffection, uproar and disunity in the National Assembly, it took the timely and brave intervention of Senator Anyim to restore peace and order to National Assembly, thereby saving Nigeria from ridicule in the eye of the world. No doubt the unholy meddling into the affairs of the Nigerian Senate was a threat to the unity of Nigeria. But Senator Anyim was courageous and brave. He stopped it and rescued Nigeria. Again, the exceptional courage that Nigerians have set to advance by electing Senator Ayim in 2023 is not the usual courage that buds from the aged deception that is only the retired military men that have courage; courage that arises from stern rigidity and pure brigandage. This belief obviously has imperilled and made Nigeria to crawl. This mindset has failed us, as Nigeria has continued to lag in having courage and patriotism to implement strategic policies, demands and outstanding recommendations of different past panels, commissions and committees. . Afterall, President Umaru Musa Yar”Adua (late), who suppressed the insurrection in Nigerian Niger-Delta by offering amnesty to the militants, was not a military man. The courage that we preach is a courage that is an offshoot of a detailed mental dexterity rooted in stately carriage and tact. All these qualities are evident in the person of Senator Anyim. Now, Nigerians are about to build institutions and no more strong men. Never again. Yes, the courage Nigerians desire takes sound mind, agility and good health. Now, who and who among the presidential aspirants have not been moving round to canvass for delegate votes and support? Who are the aspirants whose campaigns and consultations are being led by proxies, while Senator Anyim has traversed the entire corners of Nigeria? Hope no aspirant is yet comatose. Senator Anyim at 61 is hale and hearty. There is energy to exert and implement courage, forthrightness and discipline in Nigeria. Senator Anyim has got the energy and vigour. As an experienced leader of the National Assembly, Senator Anyim has learnt the art of leadership that will enable him to unify Nigeria. National Assembly is a miniature of Nigeria, by implication, Senator Anyim has mastered the skills and gained the courage to address our different national idiosyncrasies, quests and peculiarities. Senator Anyim is in tune with the different yearnings of diverse nationalities in Nigeria. Anyim by the standpoint of his political experience is most qualified, especially, among his southern contemporaries. PDP fielding Senator Ayim is in apt response to this latest call for courage. Nigerians want Anyim in 2023. Again, in January 2010, when the Nigerian presidency became besieged in a hostile uncertainty and a threat of a break-up coming to the fore, it took the brave intervention of Senator Anyim to rescue Nigeria. Yes, Anyim had mobilised a delegation of 41 eminent Nigerians that called on, now late, President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, to urgently transmit a letter of his incapacitation to National Assembly in order to salvage our democracy from ruin. More than other aspirants, Senator Anyim is a nationalist, and chiefly, a detribalised leader. North and South are well at home with Senator Anyim. Yes, no doubt, PDP has really set to throw up a competent candidate to fly the party’s flag in 2023. This has become very feasible and judicious owing to the vast array of qualified and solid aspirants who have thrown their hats in the ring to contest. This, not withstanding, we will continue to x-ray party leaders who have offered themselves to be critiqued and appraised, and where possible, to approve, support and present to party leaders, delegates, and the public, for onward endorsement as we match to PDP convention. For now, and among these great compatriots and well endowered personalities in this presidential race, no one has reached the towering and unassailable bespoke qualities of Senator Anyim Pius Anyim. Let us vote Senator Anyim. He is a man of great courage and bravery.

Northern Groups demand report on weapon procurement panel released. Northern Ethnic Groups Assembly (NEYGA) have demanded immediate release of the Arms Probe Panel Report and warns against selective implementation of AVM J.O.N. Ode (rtd.) panel recommendations without further delay which covers arms deals of the armed forces from 2007 to 2015. The groups frowned against selective implementation and avoiding the main culprits of the fraud. The delays is becoming questionable and that the activities of the presidential committee on audit of defence equipment procurement from 2007 to 2015 shouldn’t be treated or seen as a witch-hunt where some ruling party members are treated as untouchable or secret cows as Northern region which is the most affected region is eager and interested in knowing those behind the atrocities resulting in loss of many lives and properties. The groups also want all those who are culpable including National Security Adviser Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno Rtd who was alleged to have had his hands soiled in the alleged fraud when he was the chief of defense intelligence to account for their misdeeds or actions. At a press conference in Kaduna on Friday, Spokesperson for the umbrella body, Mr Ibrahim Dan-Musa, said the call became necessary and demands accountability from government to the governed. It’s sad that the the investigative committee’s core mandate which was to identify irregularities and make recommendations for streamlining the procurement process in the Armed Forces and those involved in malpractices to be brought to book. It’s however sad that the report and its valid content had been hijacked by National Security Adviser as revealed by late Rear Admiral J.A. Aikhomu (rtd.) before his demise. It’s unfortunately and unacceptable that the presidency is quite on this and the affected region will do everything within its power to ensure the corrupt officers account for their sins. The probe panel was headed by AVM J.O.N. Ode (rtd.) as the President with the following members; Late Rear Adm J.A. Aikhomu (rtd.) – Member, R/Adm E. Ogbor (rtd.), Brig Gen L. Adekagun (rtd.),Brig Gen M. Aminu-Kano (rtd.),Brig Gen N. Rimtip (rtd.),Cdre T.D. Ikoli , Air Cdre U. Mohammed (rtd.), Air Cdre I. Shafi’i, Col A.A. Ariyibi, Gp Capt C.A. Oriaku (rtd.), Mr. Ibrahim Magu with Brig Gen Y.I. Shalangwa as the Secretary. It is common knowledge that the 13-member Presidential Committee on Audit of Defence Equipment Procurement from 2007 to 2015 did a good job in-line with their mandate. Mr Ibrahim Dan-Musa said it is worthy of note to highlight that the mandate given to the Presidential Committee on Audit of Defence Equipment Procurement from 2007 to 2015 was primarily to bring to justice those that committed crimes against the Nigerian people by mismanaging billions of Naira meant for the purchase of arms and ammunitions to help in the fight against terrorism in North East but unfortunately the NSA Monguno who is also from the Borno State is the one frustrating this effort. Even though for over seven years now the NSA hasn’t step his feet in his own Monguno village for fear of Boko Haram. The number of times Monguno visited his own house in his private resident in the USA is more than the number of times he visited his own hometown in Borno state. He has completed arrangements to run out of the country immediately he hands over to his successor. Mongonu will do everything ungodly not to handover to any person despite his colossal failure in the maintenance of security of Nigeria.

The Imo State House of Assembly has been urged to make the "Eastern Security Network" the legal name for the proposed security outfit for the southeast geopolitical zone. This advice is jointly coming from Greenwood Dialogue Foundation, GDF, and Patriotic Leadership Initiative Nigeria, PLAIN. In a letter that was addressed to the Imo State House of Assembly and signed by Mazi Nnamdi Dickson Iroegbu, the Executive Director, on behalf of the two organisations, posited that though Governors and other stakeholders from the zone agreed to adopt "Ebube-agu Security Network" as the name of the zonal security outfit, Imo State, being the heartland of the zone, should adopt Eastern Security Network as the legal name for the state's security outfit, while Ebube-agua can be the motor. Conclusively, the organisations emphasized the need for a secured and prosperous Igboland, saying that Igbo land will remain the land of the brave and free.

Mazi Dickson Iroegbu, the brother of Eze Charles Iroegbu, the traditional ruler of Umuezie community of Nguru Mbaise in Aboh Mbaise LGA of Imo State, has confirmed the kidnap of the monarch and shed light on the incident. Dickson, a multiple award winning Nollywood director and Anchor/Producer of the popular current affairs television show Nigeria Right Now stated this in a statement he personally signed on Thursday. Read below: "It is a sad situation for me and the entire family as we have kept this under the radar and carefully followed the issue, to ensured that it doesn't disrupt and endanger the traditional ruler and his cabinet. I felt I should let the public know that my elder brother, Eze Charles Iroegbu, was kidnapped on the 6th of April while on their way from a marriage ceremony in Mbano with his traditional prime minister and other cabinet chiefs. The gunmen overpowered his Royal security aides and took him away alongside two other family members and his entire cabinet members. This is painful to me and I pray that my brother, the King, and every other person with him are rescued unhurt". https://www.operanewsapp.com/ng/en/share/detail?news_id=77410a2415c3056b16988e62a236830c&news_entry_id=s44d6b35d210408en_ng&open_type=tanscoded&request_id=c476ebf10d8e106baa60e173ac64c1085839a7bd&from=publisher

how do African Children deal with the numerous bills that they have to pay for the family and friends? PalmPay has made it easy for me to spend money and still save up while getting rewards as well. I started using the app earlier this year when I heard about the New Year Festival campaign they had for their customers. I downloaded it, made transactions and got a chance to win a share of 50 Million Naira. I have lots of rewards and discounts for making transactions and I’m charged absolutely nothing for sending money back home. I’ve been able to sort out family bills for the month of January till date. |
