"All The 350 People Illegally Recruited Into FIRS Are Children of Buhari's friends" -PDP

The PDP has claimed that all the 350 people illegally recruited into Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) are all children of president Buhari's friends in APC.

Blaming the recent findings by the enforcements agents as the handiwork of the president himself..

Gbenga Abiola was the cynosure of eyes at the event. He was the beautiful bride. Everyone wants to talk to him, particularly the media. At 28, Gbenga was perhaps the youngest ever council boss in the state and of course one of the ladies at the event said, “so cute, he is the most handsome among the lot.”

As the boss of Agege Local Government, Gbenga has a heavy burden on his young shoulder but he is confidence of delivering the good. “I have confidence in God and I’m equally confident that my political leaders are there for me. I also have confidence in the staff of the local government. By the special grace of God, we will deliver,” he said humbly.

Crime / Re: Fake Doctor Ran Luna Maternity & Surgery At Gwarimpa, Abuja For 10 Years by harbdulrasaq88(m): 9:52am On Jun 14, 2016

Crime / Fake Doctor Ran Luna Maternity & Surgery At Gwarimpa, Abuja For 10 Years by harbdulrasaq88(m): 9:51am On Jun 14, 2016
Investigations by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) led to police arresting a man who ran a private hospital for 10 years in Gwarimpa area of Abuja, where he offered surgeries and antenatal care, using forged certificates.

Victor Moffat Akpan was the owner of Luna Maternity & Surgery, an outfit he opened in 2006 as a “surgeon” using a forged practice licence—four years after MDCN refused to grant him licence to practice as a homeopath.

He's understood to have delivered by caesarean section a set of conjoined twins who later died at National Hospital in 2013.

Dr Henry Okwuokenye, head of inspectorate unit at MDCN, who had been investigating Akpan, said the council did not grant him a homeopathic practice licence because the school he claimed to have graduated from in Enugu was unapproved to train students in alternative medicine.

Akpan told police during questioning on Friday that in 2002 he paid N15,000 to one Mike Nwagbara, then an administrative official with the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital in Enugu state, to get a forged MDCN practice certificate.

The certificate, exclusively seen by Daily Trust, used a folio number—unique to every doctor—registered to a Dr Tuoyo Awani, a 1995 medicine and surgery graduate of University of Benin.

Some documents also thought forged show Daniel to have interned at a Calvary International Hospital in Enugu in 1996, done his National Youth Service Corps with Prisons in 1997, attended an update course by the West African College of Surgeons in 2001 and a postgraduate course on the “scientific basis of obstetrics and gynaecology in 2002.”

But his 1990 Senior School Certificate from Eastern Nsit Secondary School, Odot, showed he had no pass in any of his six subjects, scored all 7s and 8s apart from an A3 in Geography.

Investigations show Akpan presented the forged documents to unsuspecting officials of Private Health Establishment and Monitoring Committee (PHEMC), which regulates private health outfits in Abuja, to get Luna registered.

His big patient load goes back to 2007, and his clinic expanded to hire five staff, working in a converted apartment where he performed caesarean sections, removed fibroids and delivered babies from women.

Celebrities / Tiwa Savage's Interview On E Entertainment: We Had Argument On Our Wedding Day by harbdulrasaq88(m): 2:00pm On Jun 13, 2016
On Sunday night, Tiwa Savage featured on prominent entertainment channel, E! for its new show tagged the ‘E! VIP series’ – a mini documentary on some of Africa’s best entertainers.

On the episode which features the Mavin first lady, she talked about a wide range of topics – such as her humble beginnings, her relationship with former manager/estranged hubby, Tee Billz, being a mother, the legacy she wants to leave behind and more.

Here are 10 things we learnt from the revealing documentary.

1 Tiwa’s mum once thought she might be gay due to her tom-boy nature while growing up.

2. Her parents vehemently stood their ground against her decision to nurse a musical career as a young child.

“Since I was a kid, I knew I wanted to be an entertainer but African parents they were like No. Choose one. Doctor, Lawyer, Engineer or one of those ones. Music is not an option. So I had to go to school to study business and accounts.”

Tiwa’s dad who was also featured in the documentary confirmed her passion for music at a young age and said he gave her a condition that if indeed music was her calling, she would have to get a first degree in a professional course.

He said, “She has always wanted to do music and go into music. Growing up, she used to organise musical shows for all the children in the estate and she will lead the group. So my condition was that if you want to go into music, you must have your first degree, finish your secondary education, go to university and after that you can go into music.”

3. She had to get a job to self-finance her musical career in its primitive stages.

After university, Tiwa needed money to kick-start her career in music so heeding to her parent’s advice, she was forced to get a day job as a trainee accountant – a job she quit as she sunk into a depressive state after getting ‘tired of counting other people’s money’ and wanting to make hers.

“So when I graduated, I said to my dad ‘Here is your degree, I have given you want you want and I’m going to do music’. They were like ‘No, you can’t move to America, you need money’ So I got a job as a trainee accountant and I got tired of counting other people’s money.I wanted to start counting my own money because I thought Hey there is a whole lot of money around here. What’s going on? That was a transition. It got to a point that every morning I’ll wake up and I’ll be depressed going to work. I wanted to sing and at that point I was prepared to lose everything. That’s when I knew there was a big calling on my life to do this.”

4. Tiwa Savage revealed how TeeBillz, her former manager helped give her image a face-lift and build the Tiwa Savage brand.

The Mavin star expressed how she felt she couldn’t compete with the women in Los Angeles after she moved to the city of angels on the completion of her music course at the Berkley college of music.

She said’, “I moved to America. I went to study music at the Berkley college of music. Then I moved to L.A. Now when you move to L.A. There are a lot of beautiful people there. Their skin is glowing, their teeth is perfect, their hair is amazing and I’m like looking around and for someone who doesn’t wax, I have like a uni-brow.”

She then met TeeBillz who became her manager and molded her into the Tiwa Savage brand we know today.

She said, “I needed to do something and I met my manager who is now my husband. He saw me and was like ‘you could be really pretty if you put an effort into it’ and I was like ‘wait what do you mean’ and he was like ‘you need to lose a little weight, wax your legs; that might be attractive. So he just literally put me through this whole program and told me that ‘the music is great, the talent is there but 80% of it is branding’. ‘So if you want to do the tom-boy thing, you have to take it to the extreme if you want to be hot and sexy you have to take it to the extreme. So I started learning how to wear heels and he basically just groomed me into the image of Tiwa Savage that we see now.

5. Tiwa explained how her and TeeBillz had their ‘fair share of marital ups and downs’, even narrating how they had a little argument at their wedding reception.

Of course we know what has befallen their marriage but in this documentary which was shot months before their infamous split, Tiwa discussed how they had issues like every other normal couple.

“Everybody who is married knows that there are up and downs in marriages and we had our fair share,” she said.

She further narrated how they fought on their wedding day.

“So we just had this little tiff outside and we are like arguing and everyone is like ‘welcome the beautiful bride and the groom and we are dancing in and he’s just like grumbling and it’s on camera. So everyone watching are like ‘Wait where you guys just arguing so it’s real but there are cute moments and real moments,” She told E!.

6. Tiwa Savage is not so into writing deep songs

The Mavin singer said her musical formula for her big hits does not include her writing deep songs that people don’t know what she is talking about because it can get so deep that the message could be lost.

“I am not really into writing something so deep that even you don’t understand what you saying. It’s so deep that the message gets lost. I feel there is a balance. You can be clever and witty with some of your words. When I write, it’s a combination of maybe what I have gone through, I have seen people got through or sometimes it’s just what I know people want to hear. Ultimately, people just want to hear good music. So I focus all of my energy on music and performances.”

7. Tiwa revealed how the birth of Jamil, her son, has re-energized her will to work harder.

Tiwa described how much joy and happiness Jamil has brought into her life. She is however, frightened for him due to the cruelty of the world. For this reason, she has vowed to put in more work to ensure a secure and brighter future for her precious little man.

“Every time I think of that little man, it’s a mixture of emotions. I’m happy, blessed but sometimes I’m also a little scared. He’s so precious. You and I know how cruel this world can be but sometimes I feel like he should just stay in this age where i can always protect him. Every time when I wake up and I see him, all of that just goes through my mind makes me work so much harder. I work so much more because I want leave a legacy for him. I want him to be proud of his mum. I want him to one day look at this interview with his wife and be like ‘that’s my mama’. You know.”

8. Tiwa Savage explained how motherhood has had an impact on her brand.

“My brand is built on the young, sexy, fresh, sassy, female singer and now I got a few rules here and there. Stretch marks (laughs) but I have to embrace those scars because that’s what reminds me of the miracle that I had.”

“So I like to talk about it a lot especially to African women because we hide behind it and we don’t talk about the real issues that comes with it. The pressure to lose weight. It’s fine if you never looked how you did before. You had a baby, if you had to choose between getting your old body back and choosing that baby, I’m sure everybody would choose that baby. So I will embrace my new body because I have a son.”

9. ‘The love is real’ in Mavin.

According to the Mavin singer, there are hardly any rifts between the artistes signed to the Don Jazzy-led label.

She said, “I hear rumours of rivalry between artistes in record labels but the love is real in Mavin. Definitely. We all have different lanes and I think that’s what helps because we don’t feel like we are competing with each other. Everybody has different images and different sounds.”

10. Tiwa revealed her desire to work with American award-winning artiste, Beyonce and Rihanna

“I would love to work with Beyonce. She is married. She has child of her own. She is still hot. Rihanna is that fierce alter-ego we all have in us. In front of the mirror, we all pretend to be Rihanna. So I’ll love to work with Rihanna.”

She also yearns to collaborate with other African artistes.

She said, “It’s not all just about international artistes. I really love AKA. I’d love to work with AKA as well as Diamond, Fally Ipupa and Lira.”

Politics / JUNE 12: The Speech That Put MKO Abiola In Trouble by harbdulrasaq88(m): 3:01pm On Jun 11, 2016
Full Text of Inaugural Address of President MKO Abiola as Delivered on June 11, 1994 at Epetedo, Lagos Full text of the Epetedo, Lagos proclamation delivered by the late M.K.O. Abiola on Saturday, June 11, 1994.

People of Nigeria, exactly one year ago, you turned out in your millions to vote for me, Chief M.K.O. Abiola, as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. But politicians in uniform, who call themselves soldiers but are more devious than any civilian would want to be, deprived you of your God-given right to be ruled by the President you had yourselves elected.

These soldier-politicians introduced into our body politic, a concept hitherto unknown to our political lexicography, something strangely called the “annulment” of an election perceived by all to have been the fairest, cleanest and most peaceful ever held in our nation. Since that abominable act of naked political armed robbery occurred, I have been constantly urged by people of goodwill, both in Nigeria and abroad, to put the matter back into the people’s hands and get them to actualise the mandate they gave me at the polls. But mindful of the need to ensure that peace continues to reign in our fragile federation, I have so far tried to pursue sweet reason and negotiation.

My hope has always been to arouse whatever remnants of patriotism are left in the hearts of these thieves of your mandate, and to persuade them that they should not allow their personal desire to rule to usher our beloved country into an era of political instability and economic ruin. All I have sought to do, in seeking dialogue with them, has been to try and get them to realise that only real democracy can move our nation forward towards progress, and earn her the respect she deserves from the international community.

However, although this peaceful approach has exposed me to severe censure by some who have mistaken it for weakness on my part, those with whom I have sought to dialogue have remained like stones, neither stirred to show loyalty to the collective decision of the people of their own country, nor to observe Allah’s injunction that they should exhibit justice and fair-play in all their dealings with their fellowmen. Appeals to their honour as officers and gentlemen of the gallant Nigerian Armed Forces, have fallen on deaf ears. Instead, they have resorted to the tactics of divide and rule, bribery and political perfidy, misinformation and (vile) propaganda. They arrest everyone who disagrees with them. Even the 71-year old hero of our nation, Chief Anthony Enahoro, was not spared. How much longer can we tolerate all this?

People of Nigeria, you are all witnesses that I have tried to climb the highest mountain, cross the deepest river and walk the longest mile, in order to get these men to obey the will of our people. There is no humiliation I have not endured, no snare that has not been put in my path, no “setup” that has not been designed for me in my endeavour to use the path of peace to enforce the mandate that you bestowed on me one year ago. It has been a long night. But the dawn is here. Today, people of Nigeria, I join you all in saying, “Enough is Enough!”

We have endured 24 years of military rule in our 34 years of independence. Military rule has led to our nation fighting a civil war with itself. Military rule has destabilised our nation today as not before in its history. Military rule has impoverished our people and introduced a dreadful trade in drugs which has made our country’s name an anathema in many parts of the world. Even soccer fans going to watch the Green Eagles display in America are being made to suffer there needlessly because Nigeria’s name is linked with credit card and fraud and “419.” Politically, military rule has torn to shreds the prestige due to our country because of its size and population. The permanent seat at the United Nations Security Council that should be rightfully ours, is all but lost. For who will vote for Nigeria to get the seat if Nigerian military rulers do not respect the votes of their own people? Enough of military rule. We are sickened to see people who have shown little or no personal achievement, either in building up private businesses, or making success of any tangible thing, being placed in charge of the management of our nation’s economy, by rulers who are not accountable to anyone. Enough of square pegs in round holes. We are tired of then military repetitive tendency to experiment with our economy: Today, they say “no controls.” Tomorrow; they say “Full controls”. The day after, they say “Fine tuning”. The next day, they say “Devaluation.” A few days later, they say “Revalue the same naira upwards again Abi?” All we can see are the consequences of this permanent game of military “about turns;” high inflation, a huge budget deficit and an enormous foreign debt repayment burden, dying industries, high unemployment and a demoralised populace.

Our youths, in particular, can see no hope on the horizon, and many can only dream of escaping from our shores to join the brain drain. Is this the Nigeria we want? We are plagued also by periodic balance of payments crises, which have led to a perennial shortage of essential drugs, that has turned our hospitals and clinics into mortuaries. A scarcity of books and equipment has rendered our schools into desolate deserts of ignorance. Our factories are crying for machinery, spare parts and raw materials. But each day that passes, instead of these economic diseases being cured, they are rather strengthened as an irrational allocation of foreign exchange based on favouritism and corruption becomes the order of the day. Enough is enough of economic mismanagement!

People of Nigeria, during the election campaign last year, I presented you with a programme entitled “HOPE ’93. This programme was aimed precisely at solving these economic (problems) that have demoralised us all. I toured every part of Nigeria to present this programme to you the electorate. I was questioned on it at public rallies and press conferences and I had the privilege of incorporating into it much of the feedback that I obtained from the people. Because you knew I would not only listen to you but deliver superb results from the programme, you voted for me in your millions and gave me an overwhelming majority over my opponent. To be precise, you gave me 58.4 per cent of the popular vote and a majority in 20 out of 30 states plus the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Not only that, you also enabled me to fulfil the constitutional requirement that the winner should obtain one-third of the votes in two-thirds of the states. I am sure that when you cast an eye on the moribund state of Nigeria today, you ask yourselves: “What have we done to deserve this, when we have a president- elect who can lead a government that can change things for the better?

Our patience has come to an end. As of now, from this moment, a new Government of National Unity is in power throughout the length and breadth of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, led by me, Bashorun M.K.O. Abiola, as President and Commander-in-Chief. The National Assembly is hereby reconvened. All dismissed governors are reinstated. The State Assemblies are reconstituted, as are all local government councils. I urge them to adopt a bi-partisan approach to all the issues that come before them. At the national level, a bi-partisan approach will be our guiding principle. I call upon the usurper, General Sani Abacha, to announce his resignation forthwith, together with the rest of his illegal ruling council. We are prepared to enter into negotiations with them to work out the mechanics for a smooth transfer of power. I pledge that if they hand over quietly, they will be retired with all their entitlements, and their positions will be accorded all the respect due to them. For our objective is neither recrimination nor witch-hunting, but an enforcement of the will of the Nigerian people, as expressed in free elections conducted by the duly constituted authority of the time.

I hereby invoke the mandate bestowed upon me by my victory in the said election, to call on all members of the Armed Forces and the Police, the Civil and Public Services throughout the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to obey only the Government of National Unity that is headed by me, your only elected President. My Government of National Unity is the only legitimate, constituted authority in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as of now. People of Nigeria, these are challenging times in the history of our continent, Africa, and we in Nigeria must not allow ourselves to be left behind. Our struggle is the same as that waged by the people of South Africa, which has been successfully concluded, with the inauguration of Mr. Nelson Mandela as the first African President of that country. Nelson Mandela fought to replace MINORITY rule with MAJORITY rule. We in Nigeria are also fighting to replace MINORITY rule, for we are ruled by only a tiny section of our armed forces. Like the South Africans, we want MAJORITY rule today, that is rule only by those chosen by all the people of Nigeria as a whole in free and fair elections.

The only difference between South Africa and Nigeria is that those who imposed minority rule on the majority rule whether it is by black or white, remains minority rule, and must be booted out. I call on you, heroic people of Nigeria, to emulate the actions of your brothers and sisters in South Africa and stand up as one person to throw away the yoke of minority rule for ever. Late MKO Abiola and Late Gen Sani Abacha The antics of every minority that oppresses the majority are always the same. They will try to intimidate you with threats of police action. But do not let us fear arrest. In South Africa, so many people were arrested, during the campaign against the Pass Laws, for instance, that the jails could not hold all of them. Today, apartheid is gone forever. So, let it be with Nigeria. Let us say goodbye forever to minority rule by the military. They talk of treason. But haven’t they heard of the Rivonia treason trial in South Africa? Did those treason trials halt the march of history? People of Nigeria, our time is now. You are the repository of power in the land. No one can give you power. It is yours. Take it! From this day, show to the world that anyone who takes the people of Nigeria for fools is deceiving himself and will have the people to answer to. God bless you all. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Long live the Government of National Unity.

Properties / PHOTO: Man Bags 14years Imprisonment Over Land Scam by harbdulrasaq88(m): 4:49pm On Jun 10, 2016
Justice Fatu Riman of the Federal High Court, Kano, has convicted one Bashir Musa of Hotoro Dan Marke Quarters of Kano City on two counts of personation and obtaining money by false pretence. The convict was arrested by Operatives the EFCC on August 27, 2012 following a petition by one Shetima Yusuf of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) Quarters, Kano.

The complainant alleged that the convict had offered to sell to him, four plots of land which he claimed belonged to his father, Alhaji Musa Usman. Upon agreement, Shatima raised a First Bank Cheque of N600, 000. 00 and FCMB Cheque of N300, 000. 00 both dated 30th June, 2012 in favour of the convict, and promised to pay the balance of N600, 000.00 in seven days.

But to his dismay, the convict, Bashir Musa, informed him that the land had been sold by his father, but promised to give him another land. Politics / PHOTO: Dogara Holds Special Ramadan Prayer Session For Nigeria by harbdulrasaq88(m): 9:19am On Jun 10, 2016

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, on Thursday evening organised a special Ramadan prayer session for the restoration of peace, stability and economic prosperity of Nigeria. A statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs to the speaker, Mr. Turaki Hassan, said the prayers were held at the National Assembly complex during Iftar with members from the North West and South East geo-political zones.

Speaking during the prayers, Dogara said it was necessitated by the fact it is a holy period; one of abstinence, self denial and sacrifice with holiness which the month calls for. “For us to assemble here in this Holy month and miss the opportunity to call on God to help us with the challenges that we are facing in this nation, would not be right. That was why we deemed it necessary to utilize this opportunity of self denial to call on God to intervene in the affairs of our nation.”

” For every one who is a man or woman of faith, prayer is central. The reason why prayer is necessary is because although we all call on Him via different religions; God is all seeing, God is all powerful, but He will not intervene in spite of His many powers in our affairs, until we give Him permission to do so.”

“If God can just on His own decide to intervene; there’ll be no need for prayers, why would you pray if you can go directly and get it? He has said that He has put the power in our mouths, that whatever we go through, be it as individuals or a nation, if we can call on Him, He will respond, and I believe that is the essence of prayer.”

Dogara maintained that without prayers, things could have been worse in Nigeria.

“That is why we want to utilize this opportunity and this event to call on God for the affairs of this nation, pray to God to intervene in the land, pray for God to give us wisdom as leaders; from the President, the Vice President, leaders of the National Assembly, even Membership, all of us here, Members of the National Assembly, Governors, State Legislators, Local Government Chairmen, down to Councilors, because we believe that if the leadership does well, the country will do well.”

“If there should be a first level of intervention, it should even be among the leaders, because it is said “any time you see a rotten fish, check the head”. There is no way the head will be alive and the fish will rot, it is not possible, so the first level of intervention that we will ask for is for God to begin to intervene through the leaders in the affairs of the nation.

We will pray for Mr. President, pray for his good health, pray for long life, pray for the Vice President and then all other leaders in the the country, our nation.”

The prayer session was led by Hon. Balarabe Abdullahi Salame from Sokoto State and it will continue next week Tuesday and Wednesday with members from North East, North Central, South West and South South zones.

Politics / Abacha's 18th Year Of Death: Full Text Of Abacha’s Coup Speech by harbdulrasaq88(m): 10:46am On Jun 08, 2016
Today marks the 18th year of the death of General Sani Abacha, former Nigerian military Head of State.

Abacha was born on September 20, 1943 and lived an eventful life until June 8, 1998 when he died in power.

The first administration of Muhammadu Buhari as Military Head of State was carefully planned and executed by General Sani Abacha who alongside other officers, overthrew the democratically elected government of Shehu Shagari on December 31, 1983.

Upon the success of the coup, Sani Abacha announced the institution of a Federal Military Government in a nationwide broadcast, while explaining his reasons for toppling the government of the day.

Read a copy of the speech below.

PRESIDENT SHAGARI IS OVERTHROWN: SPEECH OF

BRIGADIER SANI ABACHA, DECEMBER 1, 1984 – RETURN OF

MILITARY RULE

Fellow countrymen and women, I, Brigadier Sani Abacha, of the Nigerian army address you this morning on behalf of the Nigerian armed forces.

You are all living witnesses to the great economic predicament and uncertainty, which an inept and corrupt leadership hasnimposed on our beloved nation for the past four years. I am referring to the harsh, intolerable conditions under which we are now living. Our economy has been hopelessly mismanaged. We have become a debtor and beggar nation. There is inadequacy of food at reasonable prices for our people who are now fed up with endless announcements of importation of foodstuffs. Health services are in shambles as our hospitals are reduced to mere consulting clinics without drugs, water and equipment. Our educational system is deteriorating at an alarming rate. Unemployment figures including the undergraduates have reached embarrassing and unacceptable proportions. In some states, workers are being owed salary arrears of eight to twelve months and in others there are threats of salary cuts.

Yet our leaders revel in squandermania, corruption and indiscipline, and continue to proliferate public appointments in complete disregard of our stark economic realities. After due consultations over these deplorable conditions, I and my colleagues in the armed forces have in the discharge of our national role as promoters and protectors of our national interest decided to effect a change in the leadership of the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and form a Federal Military Government. This task has just been completed.

The Federal Military Government hereby decrees the suspension of the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1979 relating to all elective and appointive offices and representative institutions including the office of the President, state governors, federal and state executive councils, special advisers, special assistants, the establishment of the National Assembly and the Houses of Assembly including the formation of political parties.

Accordingly, Alhaji Shehu Usman Shagari ceases forthwith to be the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria . All the incumbents of the above named offices shall, if they have not already done so, vacate their formal official residences, surrender all government property in their possession and report to the nearest police station in their constituencies within seven days.

The clerk of the National Assembly, the President of the Senate and Speaker of the House of Representatives shall, within two weeks, render account of all the properties of the National Assembly. All the political parties are banned; the bank account of FEDECO and all the political parties are frozen with immediate effect. All foreigners living in any part of the country are assured of their safety and will be adequately protected.

Henceforth, workers not on essential duties are advised to keep off the streets. All categories of workers on essential duties will, however, report at their places of work immediately. With effect from today, a dusk to dawn curfew will be imposed between 7pm and 6am each day until further notice. All airways flights have been suspended forthwith and all airports, seaports, and border posts closed. External communications have been cut. The Customs and Excise, Immigration and the Police will maintain vigilance and ensure watertight security at the borders. The area administrators or commanders will have themselves to blame if any of the wanted people escape.

Fellow countrymen and women, the change in government has been a bloodless and painstaking operation and we do not want anyone to lose his or her life. People are warned in their own interest to be law abiding and to give the Federal Military Government maximum cooperation. Anyone caught disturbing public order will be summarily dealt with. For avoidance of doubt, you are forewarned that we shall not hesitate to declare martial law in any area or state of the federation in which disturbances occur.

Fellow countrymen and women and comrades at arms, I will like to assure you that the Armed Forces of Nigeria is ready to lay its life for our dear nation but not for the present irresponsible leadership of the past civilian administration. You are to await further announcements, 1 NIGERIA!
