Politics / Nuhu Ribadu Is A Frustrated Thief - Ex EFCC Chairperson Farida by harbdulrasaq88(m): 7:30pm On Dec 03, 2016
Former Chairman of the EFCC Mrs. Farida Waziri, has challenged her predecessor, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, to “explain to Nigerians what happened to billions of funds and assets recovered from suspects under him, with no records or documentation.”

In a statement released on Saturday, she said:

“My attention has been drawn to a reckless and irresponsible statement credited to Nuhu Ribadu at a function on Wednesday in Abuja, where he, as has been his rhetoric since 2008 when I succeeded him as the EFCC Chairman, attempted to malign me by accusing me of being part of his imaginary enemies who frustrated the nation’s anti-graft war.

“There is also the need to remind Ribadu that before he succumbs to another logorrhea, he should avail himself a copy of the investigative report on recovered assets during his tenure as EFCC Chairman and use the opportunity of the next naming ceremony or birthday party, to explain to Nigerians what happened to billions of funds and assets recovered from suspects under him, with no records or documentation. He should be grateful to me that I cleaned his mess by creating an Assets Forfeiture Unit to put the records straight and do things rightly.

“If Nuhu Ribadu is yet to face the reality that EFCC is a Federal Government agency and not a personal estate of anybody eight years after, I find it compelling to remind him, otherwise one day he would wake up to blame me for his defeat in the 2011 presidential election and even his pathetic outing in the 2015 governorship election in Adamawa state despite the slush funds deployed to ensure his victory at the polls.”

Religion / 98-Year-Old Woman Confesses To Eating More Than 70 People As A Witch by harbdulrasaq88(m): 12:35pm On Nov 26, 2016
I Killed More Than 70 People, Had Sex With My Son – 98-year-old Witch Makes Shocking Confessions

A 98-year-old Zimbabwean woman has confessed that she took her son’s virginity as part of rituals for witchcraft.

The repented witch also confessed that in her journey as a witch, she ate more than 70 human beings including her own daughters and other close relatives.

The granny, identified only as Betserai, made the confession at House of Grace International Ministries founded by Zimbabwean Prophet, Sham Hungwe.

H-metro reports that the woman, who is from Murewa, was accompanied by her relatives, saying she had come to seek deliverance.

The Prophet, who made news headlines in the past saying he had powers to kill witches, prayed for the woman and declared her delivered.

During the midweek service, the granny confessed before hundreds of congregants saying: “I have eaten more than 70 people including my own daughters and other close relatives.

“I have been practicing witchcraft for a long time. I also killed my own daughters and I am responsible for my children’s misfortunes.

“I took my son’s virginity. I had sex with my own son some time ago.

“I had no option since it was part of the rituals.”

Alex Otieno, also the proprietor of Starlet Academy in Nakuru, was convicted of the offence by a Nakuru court on Thursday, November 24th. The 36-year-old father of three was charged that he committed the offence between April 30, 2013 and July 19, 2013 at Dundori in Nakuru County.

In her testimony, the minor said on July 19, 2013, the teacher called her to his office after he found out that she did not complete her homework. Politics / Re: INEC Can Conduct Election In Sambisa Forest , But Not In Rivers State-gov Wike by harbdulrasaq88(m): 3:20pm On Oct 29, 2016

Politics / INEC Can Conduct Election In Sambisa Forest , But Not In Rivers State-gov Wike by harbdulrasaq88(m): 3:19pm On Oct 29, 2016
Rivers State Governor , Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has stated that the fact that the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) can successfully conduct elections in Sambisa forest, but not in Rivers State is an indication of the negative plot against the state .

He also described as unfortunate the claim by the leader of the immediate past failed administration in the state that there was no good road to the hometown of a late APC Chieftain , when that administration spent eight years with huge resources accruing to the state , but only embezzled development funds .

Speaking during a state dinner for the delegates of the West African Architects Fair from 13 countries on Friday night, Governor Wike said that the non conclusion of rerun elections in the state is a fallout of the grand conspiracy to rig the polls in favour of an unpopular party .
He said : "Because people want to illegally seize power in Rivers State that is why you are hearing all this . All this plot is to take Rivers State . Why do you want to take Rivers State when it is not your own?

""Between March 19th and now, they planned to do elections so that they can get the number of seats to impeach me and put their own man. Since March , everyday they postpone the elections . From May to June to July, August then September . They said October ending , still no election . Now , they say 10th of December and when we get to 10th of December , they may shift it to next year".

The governor noted that it was ironic that INEC which conducted successful elections in the north east and Sambisa forest cannot conduct election in Rivers State .

"Election took place in Borno , election took place in Yobe, election took place in Adamawa where you have deadly insurgency . They were able to conduct elections and votes were counted. They were able to conduct election in Sambisa forest and votes were counted, but they cannot conduct election here in Rivers State ", Governor Wike said .

The governor said the action of INEC and her collaborators have denied Rivers State representation in the Senate, the House of Representatives and the Rivers State House of Assembly .

He said : "They continue to postpone the elections in Rivers State . The Senate will be discussing the Petroleum Industry Bill , they will be having the constitutional amendment and the state that produces the oil has no senator and cannot be part of the discussion . Nobody will defend Rivers State in the senate.

"Nigerians are not worried. Why? Rivers is a minority state . "

The governor maintained that Rivers State is far more peaceful than other major states in the country, hence it has played host to series of international and national conferences .

He said that once elections approach, desperate opposition politicians and their media collaborators induce negative propaganda on insecurity.
He added that deliberate anti-development programmes have been slated against Rivers State , pointing out that the state has successfully overcome these plots.

"We are the only state that applied for bail out , but they did not give to us. We are the only state where they started deducting our funds, when a loan facility has not been given to us", the governor noted .

He called on the members of the Nigeria Institute of Architects to partner with Rivers State Government for development designs that will enhance the growth of the state.

In his remarks, the President of the Nigeria Institute of Architects , Architect Tonye Braide assured Governor Wike that Nigerian Architects will support his drive towards developing the state.

Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor, Electronic Media.

Business / Federal Government Issues 7 Day Shut-down Warning To Shoprite by harbdulrasaq88(m): 10:01am On Oct 15, 2016
The Federal Government has issued a seven-day ultimatum to retail store giants, Shoprite and Next Cash ‘N’ Carry to withdraw any product that contains Genetically Modified Organisms from their shelves or risk a total shutdown.

Director-General, National Biosafety Management Agency, NBMA, Dr. Rufus Ebegba, issued the warning in Abuja on Friday during a meeting with representatives of the two mega shops.

Egbeda said the agency had received complaints from members of the public about the sale of GMO foods in the two stores.

His words, “Recently, we carried out a survey of likely GMO products and we have been able to have some collections, some materials that we call GMO suspects. We call them GMO suspects because we have not been able to ascertain their status.

“There is a law in place. We will not want any segment of the society out of ignorance to act in manners that will infringe on the law. The Biosafety Management Act empowers the NBMA to regulate the activities of modern biotechnology and the use of genetically modified organisms.

“If they have any GMO food in their stores, they should withdraw them from their shelves within seven days. The NBMA will not hesitate to shut down those stores found selling GMO products. We will not want to see any GMO food in your stores. We urge you to comply with this Act.

“Please, it is an advice and this advice is not without a legal backing. So, we urge you to withdraw all GMO foods from your shelves and formalise your dealings by obtaining permits,” the NBMA boss warned.”

Celebrities / 9 Social Media Mistakes That Can Damage Your Career- NEWSHEL.COM by harbdulrasaq88(m): 7:16am On Sep 15, 2016
Social media is fun. It is part of us. It is very useful in interacting and connecting with strangers, friends and family. It is a great channel of networking for some people and in fact has launched them into new career heights, but for some others, it has done otherwise.

Social media has also grown to be a means of how recruiters find and qualify candidates, and it rests on you as candidate to cultivate a professional online presence. You should avoid these social media mistakes too:

1. Using Nick names: One of the first actions of hiring managers is to check out your profile on social media. Many people do not have their real names on their profiles. This is bad, as it hinders hiring managers to check you out online. Also, using nick names gives your profile an unprofessional look and makes you look childish. For instance, names such: Opeyemi – 'Horpeyemi', Oluwafemi – Holuwharfemmy, etc should be avoided on your social accounts. You may use it for other purposes, perhaps imprinting it on your shirts or for other fancy things, but it is best you leave it out of your corporate profile.

2. Drinking and profanity: We should all have time to relax and hang out with friends, and share these photos on social media, but when you (as an applicant) has numerous photos of where you're drinking and doing profane things, the interviewer is probably going to throw your resume into the trash can.

3. Lack of social media presence: In this age? Oh no. Not to have a social presence is the worst thing for a job applicant. It can absolutely hurt your chances of being recognized and, ultimately, hired.

4. Complaining About Your Job or Boss: Putting your complaints out there for the world to see is never the way to go, especially when you have something to say about your job or your boss. Even when you think your posts are safe from your boss, a colleague might be able to forward it to him or her. Don't try that. Even if that one comment doesn't hurt your job now, it could come back to haunt you later. A future potential employer might see it and decide that you're not worth hiring since you've badmouthed your employers in the past.

5. Sharing Your Latest Job Offer: We are all eager to share exciting news of a job offer, but sometimes they are very confidential. Just because you have the job offer doesn't mean it's a sure thing, and if you break that confidentiality right off, your employer may see you as untrustworthy and revoke the job offer. And of course, don't say anything negative about the job offer.

6. Poor Grammar/Using Texting Language: Some of the youths nowadays have resorted to shortening words and clipping languages. No idioms. No proverbs. No elegance. No language elements that smoothen communication. It might seem like no big deal to use texting language on social media, but chances are you're better off spelling everything out. Otherwise, you could be losing jobs because of it. Poor grammar definitely puts employers off.

7. Posting Foul Comments: Keep your social media sane. It takes hard work, but make sure you do it. Any comment meant to offend another person or group could cost you your job. Whenever you are on the internet, avoid posting offensive comments, even if they're meant as a joke. People are reading and watching you.

8. Don't misrepresent yourself: Don't tell people what you are not. Much of what you share online is part of building your image and profile, whether it's true to yourself or not. But when it comes to your job search, recruiters might look to your social media profiles to discover who you really are outside of a professional interview.

9. Complaining about your customers: Like complaining about your boss, complaining about your customers can have equally poor effects. It projects your company in a bad light. Most employers won't stand for that. Avoid this.
