The China National Space Administration has released the video from its Chang’e 4 lander showing the moment it successfully landed on the moon’s far side on 3 January after a month and about 238,855 miles journey .
The missions two robots, the Chang'e 4 lander and the Yutu 2 rover, are currently exploring the 115-mile-wide Von Kármán Crater,a region no one has ever landed on or been to,since their arrival.
The two Explorers have started sending back images and videos of their adventures through a relay satellite positioned with a line of sight to both Earth and the lander.
The Yutu 2 rover carries potato and Arabidopsis plant seeds enclosed in a mini biosphere, which will be used by biologists to see how plants breath and use photosynthesis while on the Moon.
The far side (or dark side) is located on the side of the Moon that never faces Earth. It is an intriguing region which no rover has ever landed on. The near side is what we see on earth as well as the region where the US NASA’s manned and unmanned spacecrafts landed on between 1959 and 1972.
In Nigeria we are busy scheming how to remove an apparent stumbling block to election rigging so that some people can pepertuate themselves in power and steal the country blind with no intention of setting up even a needle or toothpick manufacturing firm. God why did you create me a Nigerian, why?
Goddys: Our constitution needs an amendment. A man cannot be a judge in his own cause. How can they go through NJC when CJN is their chairman?
Nemo judex incausa sua
But for petes sake the man can step aside for another person to review the matter when the council convenes but not before. At common law, you counter illegality with illegality.
InvertedHammer: / He shouldn't appear. But he must back his non-appearance with an ex-parte order declaring his invitation unconstitutional. He should understand the power in fighting dullards with superior arguments and calculated judicial maneuver.
/
Lol, exparte order by who? Well except he gets one early tomorrow morning. You have a point
amaechi1: I have just two questions: 1. Who is the chairman for NJC? 2. What time do you think would be more appropriate to question one with infractions like this? 3. Talking about time, do you think putting Evans, Rev King, Late Alex Bade on trial at they commenced is the better time?
1. He is not the sole member. When the council convenes, he will step aside as the chairman and the matter will be addressed on its merits 2. The appropriate time will be after the council has deliberated on it. See 1 supra 3. This question does not make sense and lacks merit. In any case you sought leave to ask only 2 questions.
The CCB itself said explicitly in her last judgement involving a Supreme Court Judge that once NJC has not investigated and recommended for prosecution as required by the constitution a Supreme Court judge cannot be prosecuted.
I think that judgement covers all judges who are answerable to the NJC and not only supreme Court judges. But having said that, is Walter not the head of NJC? Just asking
I have two huge fire extinguishers given to me from my office, one for the house and the other for the generator house. I want to dispose of them. Are you interested?
uuzba: I live in Lekki, many "fine" cars like this Honda. Every single day, many drivers are using at their phones right at the steering wheel, typing out whatapp, scrolling texts, with the eyes OFF from the road. Because the car is air conditioned, with power options, automatic transmission and very comfortable inside. It's only statistics that a foolish accident will happen when people do this. Overseas, it is an instant fine of £100 or more. But then again, they have CCTVs on the road to snap your picture as evidence. We can't do that in Nigeria because we just cannot get 24/7 electricity anywhere to power the CCTV.
I once tried unsuccessfully to put out the fire of a burning Audi. One very beautiful model like this shown in the picture below. the car burnt totally to the ground. The driver was just crying. I asked what happened. He had mistakenly hit one useless kabu-Kabu (Opel or something) in front of him. Just a TINY BUMP. That was enough to set the engine on fire. And slowly the entire car went as well. This was in Ibeju area of Lekki.
You haven't answered my question, you are only speculating. Many people on this forum drive, some also stay at lekki, i asked a simple question, how are you sure that this particular accident was caused by loss of concentration arising from use of phone while driving? We all know it COULD happen, but i am asking you for proof that this is exactly what happened. And please don't tell me what happens abroad and the cost of tickets, like I said earlier, some people here stay abroad or travel frequently.
If you have no proof then do not tag me again. Thank you sir.
Christiananwa: The Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has shared a throwback photo of his secondary school days with his classmates in Form 3, of McKee-Wrights House in Kings College, Lagos.
Can anyone spot the senate president in the group photograph?

It's a lie, he is not there, if he is sure, let him use an arrow mark to show us.
uuzba: Pegeout 504 with no power steering and no AC. Manual gear. The driver will concentrate more. I'm sure this Honda driver was listening to music inside AC and pressing Whatsapp on his phone. He was totally distracted and didn't know when he hit something
How would you know all these to be true....and you started by saying you are sure...
34webers: [s][/s] If a footballer who has performed creditably both home and abroad and recognised worldwide is senseless, then is it you that hide behind nairaland crying 24/7 that have sense? With the money he legitimately made from his God-given sense, Amokachi can comfortably feed you and your family for 1 million years.
I am not politically inclined nor am I joining issues with you or holding the brief of your contender but why do you guys think everyone is as poor and wretched as you may be? Is it that NL is for wretched dregs of the society? You certainly don't know the networth of the guy you are castigating. Anyways, each to his own.
AreaFada2: Lol, mortuary job is a very respectable job. They do not just employ people anyhow. Much less people without paper.
Corpses are treated with far more dignity in the West than millions of the living in Africa.
As for farm, most immigrants gravitate towards cities where there are no farms. Eastern Europeans already dominate seasonal harvest in farms.
Depending on the country, most will end up in services: shops, restaurants, etc. Or factories. Those who avoid having criminal records may eventually get security jobs. Those who want to study may also combine studies and security jobs later.
In any case most who cross to Europe in such a desperate way had little prospects in Nigeria. If the avoid crime and are not deported, over 90% will have a better life in Europe whatever they end up doing. Only the very few who sold their valuable assets or left reasonably good social circumstances behind may end up regretting it.
You are so on point. Well articulated and delivered.
Gten: I have never liked FRSC because of their overzealous and aggressive officers, but, after the effort and sacrifice I saw them put on the Abuja - Lokoja expressway yesterday, I must use this medium to thank them for their service.
Last week Friday i spent more than an hour driving across that bridge and those guys were in the middle of the bridge pretending to be serious. Mofos
slap1: Yes. If you get used to it, it's not bad. But I live in Owerri, where life is easier, slower and calmer. Lagos wan kill me with noise.
Owerri sef get traffic bros, plus all those small girls that they use as alternative traffic wardens. Drivers don't reckon with them and the girls are busy laughing coyishly and asking for money. I drove through owerri last friday while taking my car to the villa for use this Xmas. It wasn't much wonderful although you can't compare with Lagos.
GAZZUZZ: power loss or jerking? If power loss, replace fuel pump complete with assy
Thank you Boss. It's power loss. Can you help me get Avensis 2014 power pump so i can get them to change it at location. The car left lagos to umuahia last Friday.
The first thing to suspect would be fuel related most especially when the issue started shortly after buying fuel. The tank may be dirty and the new fuel could have stirred the dirt in the tank. SOLUTION Please try buy in tank injector cleaner at any reliable has station and pour into your tank. Observe and give us a feedback.
I hope this helps.
Thanks. Mileage is below 50k, about 44k. I will get the cleaner and try that out when I go to pick the vehicle. I flew back to Lagos after dropping the car at umuahia
So i got into the country and chose to personally drive down my avensis to the villa for use this yuletide. When I sent my prado last year, the conveyor purportedly kept fixing the fuel issues until he agreed he'd gotten home.
Fast track to Friday last week i drove from lagos up to agbor and refilled my car. The first sign of stalling happened inside owerri town, then again at emekuku. It thereafter drove all the way to umuahia
Please masters in the house, what could be the explanation to the stalling? Fuel pump? Dirty fuel? Please kindly advise as I intend to drive to the village finally early next week.
GAZZUZZ. ...I have popped in severally to see you, i even called. If we had met, i won't be sharing this negative testimony
Today, Nigeria’s President is 76years old. We Pray for long life, good health of mind and body. Nairaland join the good people of Nigeria to wish our President a happy Birthday.
Muhammadu Buhari is a native of Daura, a Fulani town situated in Katsina State of Nigeria. He was born on December 17, 1942. He is the twenty-third child of his father, Adamu.
Buhari was raised by his mother, Zulaihat after his father died when he was about four years old. He attended primary school in Daura and Mai’adua before proceeding to Katsina Model School in 1953 and to Katsina Provincial Secondary School (now Government College Katsina) from 1956 to 1961.
Military career
Buhari joined the army in the year 1962 and became the governor of the North-Eastern State during the regime of Gen. Murtala Mohammed. Later, he was appointed Minister or Federal Commissioner for Petroleum and Natural Resources during the military regime of General Olusegun Obasanjo in 1976. When the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation was created in 1977 Muhammadu Buhari was made its head.
On December 31, 1983, the government of the civilian President Shehu Shagari was removed in a coup d’etat, Major-General Buhari was selected by the high ranking military officials to lead the country.
Muhammadu Buhari is known for his uprightness and zero tolerance for corruption. He introduced a public campaign against indiscipline known as “War Against Indiscipline” (WAI) alongside his deputy, Tunde Idiagbon.
Electoral Battles
President Buhari contested the Presidential election as the candidate of the All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP) in 2003 and lost to Peoples Democratic Party nominee, Olusegun Obasanjo.
In the 2007 April Presidential polls, Buhari contested against his brother from Katsina State, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and he lost.
Gen. Buhari was the CPC Presidential candidate in the April 16, 2011 general election, running against former president Goodluck Jonathan of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), and Ibrahim Shekarau of ANPP, again he lost. In the year 2015, Muhammadu Buhari not deterred by his previous failures, contested for the Presidential election under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) with Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. Muhammadu Buhari emerged the winner and was declared the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Marriage
In 1971, Buhari married his first wife, Safinatu Buhari (nee Yusuf) ( December 1983-August 1985). They had five children together, Zulaihat (Zulai) is named after Buhari’s mother. Their other children were Fatima, Musa (deceased), Hadiza, and Safinatu.
In 1988, Buhari divorced his first wife Safinatu. In December 1989, he married his second and current wife Aisha Buhari (nee Halilu). They also have five children together, a boy and four girls. They are Aisha, Halima, Yusuf, Zarah and Amina. Yusuf and Zahra graduated last year from the University of Surrey, United Kingdom. Halima was called to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister at Law.
President Buhari is an accomplished Personality and the first citizen of our Motherland, Nigeria.
I wish him well and also acknowledge his accomplishments but he still did not pass school certificate or its equivalent or he has not shown proof that he has it. Purely on the basis of this failure, everything put on him is bound to fail. You can't put something on nothing and expect it to remain there. It will surely fail. UAC vs Mcfoy. Google that classicus
CyberEBOLA: Please which work is he doing from home?
Even my company has a policy of working from home one day in a week and not more than 4 times in a month. Provided you attend to all your deliverables.
TissuePaper: pls sir I am requesting for some form of mentorship from you, you seem to be vast in the law, I humbly await your reply.
I will be willing to provide whatever guidance as I may be able to garner within my limited constraints. We can take it from there. Have a blessed morning
queenfav: Sure.. So let's try to be realistic while dealing with young ones, so they are mentally prepared for what's ahead. Nobody rolls out a red carpet for you, because you are a lawyer. There are too many lawyers and not enough briefs. I have friends working in firms without pay! How can they meet their needs? . A classmate whose wife gave birth through CS didn't have N250,000 as savings to pay for the surgical operation. A married man that's 4 years at the bar, also working with a firm. My husband had to ask me how he intends to take care of the baby and wife afterwards? We had to contribute money on our University Alumni whatsapp group to assist him. . I don't wish financial dependence for anyone. If a profession isn't paying, you leave it to find something more lucrative. It's this "law is prestigious, i must die in active law practice" that makes many lawyers wallow in poverty! May God help them anyways.
Lawyers are not trained to only practice the profession as advocates. Lawyers can and often do well as solicitors. This is where the real money is, in the short term. You have to build up advocacy skills and clientele and this happens over time. The people I help everyday with their personal and family financial issues are not lawyers, they belong to a wide spectrum of professions including traders like you. My point is, singling out the legal profession as if it is responsible for some people's financial challenges is myopic. Beyond the financial returns, knowing the law and carrying that toga gives you some headroom above contemporaries if you know how to deploy your skills. In the final analysis, it still boils down to the person and the economy, not the profession.
