lol.. With all due respect i wasn't involved in local practice. My salary was good enough compared to what other firms pay. I worked with Olalekan Ojo and co. Google their clientele so you can verify it's nothing near "local". A firm that handles cases for TB Joshua, Farouk Lawan, Al Mustapha, Obat oil to name a few?I still insist, i am better off for it now running my own business.
.
The legal profession is good enough for bragging rights, but don't deny the fact that lawyers are roasting! Many cannot boast of a million naira this December. Some female lawyers came to my hair showroom from the customary court of appeal. They asked about price for a particular hair,my staff told her N67, 500. The ladies shouted, that that's their three months salary..How can a professional be expected to live on N25000?I couldn't help but wonder, if it's worth the stress finally.
Whatever floats your boat. Truth is, if some lawyers are having it rough, it doesn't mean the profession is not worth its weight in gold. Accountants, engineers, etc are all embroiled in this same persistent lack of jobs or low income saga until individuals carve a niche for themselves and grow to their desired height. It is not about the profession, it's about the person and the economy.

My sister, make we leave them. Years down the line, they will locate this thread and say "you were right"!
You stayed put at ibadan and stuck to local practise with lowly rated firms. Your experience is not a reliable yardstick. We will be here someday when you'd report back how the economy has stultified your business or how government policy has killed your business forays. To think you used to speak highly of the legal profession. I advise people, first make it a passion and money will walk through.

This is serious.
What was your alleged offence?
To them, my driver picked me at a wrong and illegal spot, to my mind, there was a nake. d and brazen display of power, plus the expectation that the owner of that SUV will certainly cough out cash. My calmness brow beat them but they could not beat a retreat so they had no choice than to complete the routine of extortion.

law is overrated. Seen a couple of lawyers whose standard of living is below par. Most lawyers in Nigeria worth billions are legal corrupt men. OP if you are doubtful better engage in business or anything that works for you.
Stick to what you know. I am in corporate employment after practising for a number of years, I can actually retire today and live an affluent life. Let me take you further, some of my classmates head legal services of first tier banks in this country as DGMs and GMs. Ask around for what figures in those cadres walk home with from banks. Finally, law is the profession that enables you work in virtually all spheres... An administrator, HR personnel, Management consultant, legal advisory, company secretary, banking operations, legal practise, tax practise, the horizon is endless. In my next life, I will still be a lawyer. As a teaser, I flew out to London on Tuesday to review agreements on behalf of my company with other foreign colleagues. I came back on Friday. All expenses paid. Again stick to what you know

It's called a Certified True Copy of the original document.
The law is that any document (like a Marriage Certificate) which is issued by a government ministry, department or agency under provision of law is a Public document (also called Primary evidence).
If it gets lost, it can easily be replaced by approaching the Public Officer who is in charge of keeping the records to produce another copy called a "Certified True Copy". This CTC is as good as the real thing and it can be used for any purpose for which the lost original was intended.
Spot on. Nothing to add or remove

Lie. Whoever does any of that is not a man but a boy. Read the post again, activities are qualified. It's not that you should not build a house or buy a car for her, but don't do any of those if you haven't acquired one for yourself. It's simple common sense.

Not everyone wants to leave. Some go and come back, with reasons. It's not as rosy as it sounds until you get there.

This is sad. People are taking religion too far and have given up on simple reasoning and common sense.
I have travelled to so many countries on different continents and i have never for once prayed for a visa even when i was rejected on some occasions.
Its not about prayer, its about taking the time to research and do what is required of you in a proper manner.

If its America, prepare for the visa interview and read other people's experience
If its UK, Package your authentic documents as instructed and include all supporting evidence
If its schengen or asia, do the needful.

Our people are too used to wuruwuru so they think they can just get a visa without making concerted personal attempts to get their shittt right!!
I completely agree with you. I did a super priority visa application on Friday, collected on Monday, traveled Tuesday evening and returned Friday evening. I had nothing to do in the UK other than a meeting and when I was done, i left. Some folks were wondering why I did not even stay till the weekend and i still can't figure out what they were suggesting. I can happily say I have never been rejected a visa and i have never gone to any venue to pray for it at any point in time. I only research well and provide relevant information that suits my country of entry.

This is wrong.
Small Doctor is a celebrity for crying out loud.
He should be set free.

If Burna Boy could be set free, Davido acquitted after Tagbo and cos death, Wizkid released despite threatening Linda.
D'banj's wife was not jailed despite her involuntary manslaughter involvement.

Then why is Small Doctor being humiliated?
You may find the answer to your question in ye ma sun

Lol.

But I don't think there's any ulterior motive because its normal practice, they can't hold him for more than 24hrs without charging him to court. He will probably be granted bail, so he can adequately prepare for his trial.
Spot on. But i guess it's deliberate as they could choose to not arraign him until a lawyer applies for habeas corpus under the fundamental human rights rules for him. That way he would have spent days. They actually want to help him. Perhaps his money at work.
