you have a very valid point at this time of recovery from recession we shouldn't embark on a nationwide strike.

nonetheless I would also want you to name which of the basic needs of the average Nigerian that is being met optimally by the current administration. or the fascism taking place in the civil service or the high cost of living and inflation. we need to call a spade a spade. the nation is at an all time low, this strike could be the rallying point we need to address the loopholes in the constitution and call for a true restructuring of the constitution.

please go out of the country to a neighboring country like Ghana and see what your government as robbed you off
Ghana is not in anyway better. ...You can go to Ghana and thank your stars that you're a Nigerian. I understand you sir but we as well need to Unitedly take Nigeria higher not by destroying things.. Embarking on strike will destroy things more..

ULC leaders should be arrested

The United labour Congress, ULC, declared a nationwide strike starting from today. The United Labour Congress was a faction of the Nigerian labour Congress and is as at now unrecognized by the Nigerian government.

It should be recalled that ULC broke out of NLC as a result of leadership tussle that rocked the NLC during election of leaders of the Congress. https://www.olisa.tv/2016/12/joe-ajaero-nlc-faction-united-labour-congress/

Therefore, a Congress that is not recognised by the law declaring a nationwide strike is an illegal act that should be dealt with legally.

Union of banks has pulled out of the strike because it is unnecessary at this stage.

If the Nigerian Government should give room for this nonsense, more will come. All sections want to go for strike and take this country to a halt, and that isn't a concern for us Nigerians? The only reasonable fight(strike) is still that of the university workers and all other strike actions against the federal government are mere wickedness and politically motivated actions. It will be unreasonable for the government to negotiate with illegality. Illegal is illegal!

I hereby as a citizen of this country, call for the arrest and prosecution of leaders of ULC.

There are more humane ways to handle the agitation than the cold blood murders of IPOB youths and the brutality meted out to them.

PoliticsOsinbajo Meets With IGP Over IPOB by Hardeysolution(op): 2:36pm On Sep 16, 2017
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, on Thursday, met behind closed doors with the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris at the Presidential Villa, in Abuja.

It was believed that the meeting centered around the crisis between the Nigeria Army and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), in Abia State and some parts of Rivers State.

Speaking to State House Correspondents at the end of the meeting which lasted almost an hour, the IGP said highlight of the meeting “is to obviously ensure that our provision of security in the country is intact.”

Asked to be specific about strategies he was adopting as regards events in the south east, he said all critical stakeholders, including governors of the region were being engaged to find lasting peace.

“Obviously one is to deploy policemen across the country, two we are in touch with the states government, trying to mobilize the political leadership to be able to intervene where necessary on how to lessen the tension in the south east.”

Repeated clashes between Nigerian soldiers and IPOB agitators led by Nnamdi Kanu, had forced Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State to declare a three-day dusk-to-dawn curfew in the state.

The governor had said the state would continue to subscribe to the supremacy of the Nigerian Constitution and work with the federal government to forestall secessionist threats.

The governor also noted that the clash is directly linked to the deployment of soldiers across South-East as part of the rejuvenated Operation Python Dance.

Also, IGP Idris has described as nonsense, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State’s allegation that the reported killing of an operative of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, during a foiled kidnap operation, last Monday, at Oroazi area of the state was a confirmation that policemen were involved in armed robbery and kidnapping.

In Idris’s words, “He (Wike) has right to self-expression. You know he is a governor.”

Asked if he was not denying the allegation he replied, “Of course I have to deny that, that is nonsense. I have to deny that.

“If a policeman was killed will you say he was involved in crime? I think you are mixing two different issues. A policeman was killed in Rivers in connection with this IPOB issue, is different from saying policemen are involved in crime. You cannot say someone that was attacked and killed is the one involved in crime.”

When reminded that the governor alleged that the dead policeman was one of the three men that were suspected to be members of SARS who were attempting to kidnap someone and he died in the process, the IGP replied, “Who is the person they were attempting to kidnap?

“I just want you to read between the lines. If you have leaders making sweeping allegations obviously it does not make sense. I don’t want to comment on it.”

Asked what preparation were on ground ahead of October 1st especially with the tension in the land, he replied, “I don’t think there is tension in the country. Which country this Nigeria? No. Nigeria does not have tension. At least you are in Abuja you have gone around there is no tension.”

Place your hand on your chest and say after me.

"Osinbanjo is a fake pastor, a disgrace to Christianity".

With that said, let me explain the premise of that declaration.

-No true christian can be actively involved in Nigerian Politics because Naija politics thrives on social and moral compromise.

-A true pastor will not stay mute and work in accordance with a tyrannical Boss like Buhari who is addicted to the Islamization of Nigeria.

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has denied allegations by the military that he is running a terrorist organisation.

In a telephone interview with Channels television on Friday, Kanu said the so-called Biafran Secret Service that he inaugurated weeks ago was a mere vigilant group.

Kanu maintained that his group does not carry arms and has never killed anyone since its formation.

“We do not carry arms; we did not ask anyone to kill for us neither have we killed anyone. If you check our record, our record is clean and straight,” Kanu said.

“We don’t believe in violence. Violence cannot solve the problem. We believe in dialogue; we believe in personal commitment; we believe in education and informing our people in the right thing, at the right time.

“How could a whole intelligence officer of the military term IPOB a terrorist group? How possible is that?

“From inception, Nnamdi Kanu made it clear to the whole world that we are non-violent freedom fighters and that’s the way it has been.”

In a statement on Friday, John Enenche, the Director of Defence Information, had listed many infractions by the IPOB, which led to its designation as a terrorist group.

One of them was the formation of a group known as the Biafran Secret Service, BSS. But Kanu said the group was never a secret service but a mere vigilante group.

“They are called vigilante. They are not secret service; they are called vigilante. I think there’s a lot of misconception here. They are called vigilante,” Kanu said.

“They are there to take care of our land, and that’s what it is, against attacks from the herdsmen, from criminals and all of that. We are not armed. Did you see them armed? The answer is no.”

Kanu said the group would continue its agitation within the laws of the land “to make sure that nobody will term IPOB a terrorist group”.

He also narrated how soldiers besieged his house, shot and killed 22 people and a security dog in the house and almost killed his father.

“They came to my house, that was yesterday (Thursday). Now there’s a report saying that they found some arms in Nnamdi Kanu’s house.

“They came to my house, shot everybody; they killed 22 people. They almost killed my father. They even shot our dog, the only dog we have,” he said.
