ahnie:Look at the Muslims, they can't say the same thing you've come hear to say. Whatever it is, they leave it to pray. It says a lot about our commitment to the God we claim to serve. Our hearts really matter. |
ahnie:You've done quite well. I'll like to say a few things before I comment on the major thing. 1. People don't go to hell fire because of what you think. It's because they have refused to accept Jesus Christ. If you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour, then he will direct your steps into what or what not to do. 2. God is not a barbaric God that throws people into hell like some goddess or stuffs. It doesn't work that way. I think it's important we all have encounter of the person of God so we don't remain shallow. 3. There's something knowing God does for us. It's not about going to church primarily. It just makes us want to please God. And this is not a religious running about - it is a life. So if it hasn't happened to you, even though you go to church - and you don't know God - it's just jamboree. Now to the topic itself, The lady preaching to you didn't come to ask you to leave where you're going to eat. She's only inviting you to church. She's inviting you to ensure you receive from God. Now this is important - it's not about church but about your heart. Now I need to ask, Why do you think you sold better today and then felt the sister was about to do you a bar thing? Did you know read that your God is the God of the times and seasons. I see few things, 1. Lack of trust in the God you claim to know. 2. Lack of understanding of the God you claim to serve 3. Shallow knowledge in the things of God 4. Christianity to you isn't about God but about the things you can get from God Now this is the summary, Whether you get to sell better or not, you have only decided to show your love for what you want. If you trust God, whether now or later, you'll seek him - not just in church but everywhere. Just imagine, your friends have a party to attend, or your parent called for a meeting that's emergency or there's a match or a movie... You would probably have missed the sales too and truthfully, you're not always at seat for sales so you have missed several hot moment for sales. God is the one that owns times and chances. Trust him and when to eat or not, when to move or not becomes easy and it won't cost you anything to leave your trade for him. Look at the Muslims, they can't say the same thing you've come hear to say. Whatever it is, they leave it to pray. Selah |
ezenwaez:I have signed my PPA letter at the school I was assigned to. I am trying to upload but it's not going. Am I to wait for physical verification or what am I to do? |
What exactly is the request of these terrorists? What are they asking for? |
Dear Batch C applicants, I have been having issues downloading the PPA letter and my sister told me it told her to update her details. Now I updated the details which was like from the beginning and when I attempted downloading, it brought the error of too many requests, kept clicking download and eventually downloaded. You can try that too. If your details are well updated, continue to click on download. Thank you and good luck. |
How do you people download PPA letter |

I haven't seen any news on the front page lately about the deployment of beneficiaries by npower. I don't know why but I think it should be shared. Npower has deployed beneficiaries and I know a few of them personally.

When your lecturers can shut schools in solidarity to another group under the disguise of revamping which is obvious though, no doubts. What hope do you have? If schools are built with the nicest of structures, having all so called required equipment, will your lecturers - stop victimising female students? - stop teaching you with 10 year old slides? - stop setting exam questions from another school abroad? - stop selling textbooks to you as handouts? - stop reading calculation slides? - stop missing classes? It's a two way thing. Many Nigerian lecturers show the traits of being in the sector because of no jobs. If lecturers are those who sought for jobs and didn't find, what is left is to be in school without being taught yet locked out of school so you can be taught. An average Nigerian student is the lecturer of himself in many courses. Sad story. https://www.facebook.com/1381569875449763/posts/2764600113813392/?app=fbl

ASUU Strike: Lingering strike May Plunder Nigeria Dear Government, I must sincerely appreciate your efforts towards solving some long term problems in Nigeria. Most people know, if not everyone, that mischievous people who tend to paint the government bad exist. Seeing beyond the press, we can be sure of decisive actions taken by this administration to position Nigeria in a more robust way. While all of these are quite visible, some other issues may suggest otherwise. In a country where her education instituions do not get properly funded, yet could get shut down for weeks per year without a lasting solution since the issue started will not suggest otherwise, that the government does not care about the plight of Nigerian students. In Nigeria, students would get locked out of school because of ASUU strike, get locked out because of internal issues, get locked out because of students' demonstrations against management and lecturers and the government still does not look for means to allay the fears in the minds of many Nigerians. Like we may have rightly seen in the media, the ruling class are widely blamed for the woes bedevilling the educational system. This is suggested that, they are not part of the masses that flock around Nigerian schools. Are there no solution to this unending crisis rocking the sector? Should students continue to suffer for the mistakes of both Federal Government and ASUU? If we refuse to take actions immediately, there may be another erupting chaotic destruction that may plunder the nation and throw us in a thick darkness. The Government should show the positive signs of goodwill, respect the laws available and if need be, change the laws before exercising against the laws. Universities acts suggest autonomy which has usually been the case. All of a sudden, bringing up politically motivated decisions to interject the running of institutions will not only throw the sector into a state of collapse but will we well dash the hope of the beneficiaries of the failed system. If IPPIS is an issue, the government should admit errors and correct them. All of these are achievable without prolonging matters. The inability of the government to find a lasting solution will throw the nation into another state of uncertainty, that no security agency and not even a presidential speech can solve. https://twitter.com/Adedamorlar/status/1326683832301588480?s=20 |

Knowing that we have a useless government with no value for education, will it be alright for ASUU to suspend its strike? Majority of students don't know why ASUU strike is on. The students, which I call the major stakeholders are not informed of what is going on. ASUU has been a regular "striker" since 1980s and have suffered bans and proscriptions about twice in the military regime. It is clear that, the struggle has been on for a while. Many students will ask, "is strike the only way?" while ASUU will respond, "that is usually the last resort". The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is a union of teachers in Universities and one would wonder, why Vice Chancellors are not usually part of their struggle but that's not the focus this time. Why this 2020 Strike action? When the strike actions began in March 2020, Covid-19 lockdown accompanied it and students were eventually asked to stay home. This continued for months until the lockdown restriction was removed and schools were asked to resume October 12th, 2020. One would have expected that the dispute between ASUU and the FG would have been settled, but that is not the case at all. This 2020 strike action started as a means to press further the memorandum of understanding signed in 2009/2019 which contains several other clauses including renegotiation of 2009 agreement, constitution of visiting panels to universities, revitalisation funds amongst others. However, the struggle for a payment platform was conjoined with the initial struggles. FG rolled out Integrated Personnel Payment and Information System - IPPIS as a payment platform for all workers which ASUU objected. ASUU was asked to develop a working platform for universities, and they came up with UTAS - University Transparency and Account System. Why is ASUU against IPPIS? ASUU claims that IPPIS does not capture the situations at the universities and so, not in line with the university act. ASUU claimed the system was developed by the world bank and it of course has a lot of discrepancies. According to ASUU, a lecturer cannot be allowed to teach in more than one universities which is not healthy for the educational system. What are students saying? Many students are of the opinion that ASUU frequent strike actions are a delay factor and have turned many students to dropouts, have caused many to grow apathy towards learning and even dashed the hope of many parents. Even if the fight is legitimate, ASUU should, if indeed, they care about the students like they claim, find a better way as intellectuals, to press home their demands. It is worrisome how that the university system witnesses strike actions more than other sector. Yet, the lecturers will be paid, but the students cannot regain those lost times. This doesn't concern the lecturers as they are after what they will get. If since 1982, the struggle has begun, does it make sense to say, only an unending fight is fought with the same strategy. How would you explain how a student will be in the same class for three years, all thanks to the frequent strikes. Should ASUU find a common ground for the sake of the students whose futures are looking bleak already? A student gained admission at 23 because of several disappointments from UTME and post UTME, you yet ASUU strikes will turn a four year course to seven years, only for him to graduate at age 30 and become unfit for major jobs (that aren't even available). Time, and value, which is more important? If we want valuable education, we should join ASUU in this fight for a better education system but what happens to the time of students who are at the receiving end of all these? https://www.facebook.com/1381569875449763/posts/2747987112141359/?app=fbl |
The youths of those days are the ones we are fighting against now. Wouldn't that be the case with us too? That's my fear! A kind of people that excuse violence and crime because of the wickedness of some people shouldn't be trusted to do what's good in the line of governance. When you bring emotions into leadership, you make rash decisions that will wreck your government. You hailed that the palliatives were looted. You're one of the problem of Nigeria. The government is bad, and so are you. _ |
I personally feel bad seeing that the momentum is dying across. Going to Twitter, I could only resent the fact that we allowed these protests to continue until many lives were lost and properties were looted. I remember Segun Awosanya, popularly known as segalink warned so many people of continuing the protests. Even those who called for an end were abused and ignored. It got to this point and now, the lost lives live on while dead? We were fighting a government knowing fully well that it wouldn't make sense overnight. Or did we think, the government would start having sense all of a sudden? I am sincerely sad that many lives were lost. Many people were made homeless and sad forever, because we continued. Should that have been a problem if we have a reasonable government? Is there a tangible excuse to kill your citizens because they are demanding for what it is rightly theirs? Oh, we do not have a reasonable Government! Is this the end? Just like that? The protests will end, while crime is high across? The touts aren't easy to rein in. What of Justice? I am not a coward to think strategy works when the battle is hot. It's safe to stop when it's necessary. What do you think? |
Sincerely, crime can't wipe out crimes. Imagine a society without law enforcers. While we have the unprofessional SARS members, should we because of that ask that crimes go on? SARS has done bad. Yes, but if there are armed robbers on your neighborhood, you call the protesters? We end up saying, we don't have Police when we are asking for their end. We can reform SARS, not end SARS. Let's give it a thorough thought. |

SCHOOL BECOMES A SCAM WHEN YOU'RE NOT SMART Nigerian parents once said, go to school and become somebody! Nigerian government once said, go to school, let's waste your time, let's give you archaic, outdated education and be a prayer point! Declare a state of emergency on education! Declare a state of emergency on education! What pains me most is how lecturers know that they aren't teaching us how to be successful yet, act as though our success is in their hands, such effrontery and audacity! ☹️ First class graduates now selling phone accessories and begging for sales without Dy/DX. I will not join those who say education is useless. But if you ask me, I will say, don't be educated in school alone, be smart! I didn't write anything for Nigeria@60 to celebrate my father land so I could protest against the government's inefficiency. You may think that's inconsequential... No.. I joined several of others who became indifferent because of bad governance. It has worn us out. ASUU will continue to embark on strike. If your children attend a public University now that you don't have a wife or husband, they will experience ASUU strike too. Not until ASUU shows us they are filled with wise professors, students show us that they went to school to be educated, your leaders can't do anything because here in Nigeria, no one owes anyone anything serious. In the next 20 years, you'll be the ones in the realm of affairs. Hope the coming generation won't use hashtags #endasuustrike #endsars for you too. It may be reformed in names, hope we won't be having the same problems with you too? It's easy to throw pebbles at the government, when we are becoming what they are. It would only mean we are hypocrites and we have no voice! In the country where I was supposed to be born, we don't hype grades over abilities. When India was like that, thinking it's all about grades, and forgetting the individual abilities of everyone, India was poverty headquarters will little or no inventions. Now, they are moving, even though slow and NIGERIA is treading that path. Don't go to school with the mind to fail. If school doesn't matter but all you do is fun fun fun, you're just "unserious"... School na scam, but it's because you're unserious and not having time for your education. If you are a serious student, even if your grades don't speak, other things will speak. Haven't you seen how first class students beg third class students for giveaway in your group chats? It's a reflection of what is about to happen.. But now, the eficos are now doing what the smart ones are doing. I am just trying to ensure we balance this thing. If you have the money without being educated, it will tell for you but then, you have the money If you have the certificates without money, it will tell for you, but na certificate you go eat? If you have the money and the certificate and the brain, you're the one we are talking about. Such people have the true story that school isn't a scam because they are smart! Solve your maths and be a lecturer to recycle the system. The C students are CEOs, B students are managers and A students are lecturers. The C students pay the B and the A students. If you must really make it out of school, be a serious student that doesn't take school as all in all. You can make your money without waiting for scholarship money School becomes a scam when you're not smart. |

it was a tenth of it. it was mentioned Kobojunkie: |
I think you saw Abraham paying tithe right? That was rightly before the law of Moses Kobojunkie: |
I would recommend you read the entire post again. Kobojunkie: |
I think you should make you point clearer Kobojunkie: |
What did the Bible really say about Tithes? ⚠️ May be too long, kindly read through. Thank you To start with, I will like to say, in this write up, you'll see what Jesus said about tithes. Thank you. Tithe is seen as one-tenth of your income and in churches, we have seen people come up with mathematics of paying tithes, such as remove your expenses and pay with your profit. Some will say, add up all your income and this and that. They call it, how to adequately calculate your tithes. Many believers didn't even bother to ask for what the Bible said. We just believe that we should pay tithe because "as it was in the beginning, so is it now, and so shall it be forever". Really? While some of us have the notion of not paying because, "pastors use our money for "lavishing", really? Let me say first, that what makes you Christians and even non-Christians so particular about this issue of tithe is "inability to let go of what we have" which I will term as "greed". But you may not see it that way because it's yours, but first to ask, is it yours really? Let's look at what we have in the Bible. Mal.3.8 - "Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, "In what way have we robbed You?' In tithes and offerings. Mal.3.9 - You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed Me, Even this whole nation. Mal.3.10 - Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this," Says the LORD of hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. This scripture is mainly used by us to buttress our points on tithing and to mean, if you don't pay tithe, as that Scripture said, you're under a curse for robbing God. Shall we look into this scripture and bring out some things? 1. God was speaking to Israel and not to the entire world. Israel represents the chosen people and for real, how will you be a chosen of the Lord and not care about His house? (We will still look at what the new testament said) 2. It wasn't even seen as been compulsory, rather an admonition if you seek to enter that covenant. 3. It wasn't so that you can say you've paid tithe, but rather to contribute your own quota to the development of the house of God. Is that too big to do? Let's check another scripture. Heb.7.1 - For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, Heb.7.2 - to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all, first being translated "king of righteousness," and then also king of Salem, meaning "king of peace," Heb.7.3 - without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually. This is new testament account of how Abraham paid tithe to Melchizedek, king of peace, who is a similitude of the son of God, who was to come. Abraham paid this tithe before the law, and so we can rule out that saying that, "tithe is under the law". Tithing has been before the law, during the law, even after the law (even much more after the law). So if Abraham, who by faith, paid tithe to Melchizedek (the image of the son of God to come), does that mean those of us who are by faith and living by faith, aren't we supposed to do same? Don't forget that apart from Abraham giving one-tenth, he as well gave all of himself to God. Now we can now examine, quickly what Jesus/New testament said about tithe and giving in general. Matt.23.23 - "How terrible it will be for you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest part of your income, but you ignore the important things of the law--justice, mercy, and faith. You should tithe, yes, but you should not leave undone the more important things. (NLT). That was the Lord Jesus saying, tithing without taking other things into consideration is as evil as evil itself. You can see Jesus saying "Woe!" So how bad is it to tithe when you don't even know God? Makes any difference? So you tithe a stolen funds (that is without mercy and justice) and you think you're covered? In fact, the sacrifice of a wicked man is an abomination unto God! Acts.2.44 - Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, Acts.2.45 - and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. This is new testament, giving all you have for your God. Is it about tithe? Yes pay tithe, but much more Jesus said, faith which enables you to live the crucified life. I believe we can ask ourselves some questions. Did the early church speak so much of tithe? No. Did Jesus specifically preach tithe no? We found Paul saying, "I know how to abase and how to abound" Even the Lord Jesus fed the 5,000 without asking them to contribute a dime. So it teaches me, God wasn't asking for our tithe, but all of us! 2Cor.5.14 - For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; 2Cor.5.15 - and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. This is the Bible saying, at this point, you're not living for yourself anymore, but for Him, if of a truth, you have met Him. It then tells me that, A Christian who has truly met the Lord Jesus would not mind to give all, not to talk of a tenth. A Christian who has truly met the Lord, will not even compel people to pay tithe, or give, for the work isn't for him but for the Lord. To conclude, tithing is scriptural, before Moses (by faith), it existed. During Moses (the law) it existed. In the Lord Jesus (by faith in Jesus) it as well exists. So give all of yourself to God. That is His request, not just your tithe. Mark.12.41 - Now Jesus sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money into the treasury. And many who were rich put in much. Mark.12.42 - Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans. Mark.12.43 - So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury. Till today, He still sits over the treasury and knows why and what you give to His house. There are in fact several scriptures that suggest to us from Genesis to revelation, the biblical position of paying tithes. You can as well dig into your bible and find out more. God bless you. Bonatheripper:You are right. One could get depressed at every bit of how you feel and then looks like others are better of. Even slim girls, short girls, very tall guys, big heads, fat girls or boys etc feel depressed I mean some. But then, someone somewhere admires all their qualities. Have you seen slim people craving for fats and fat people craving for slim body? Everyone's problem is inability to come to terms to how God has allowed us to be. You didn't make yourself so why get depressed over how you are? He who made you made you for something great and who you are is a perfect fit. No matter what anyone says, you're who you are, just love it. You'll only get depressed if you fall in love with other people's life and not yours. Love yourself! |
