ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED teachers are constantly looking for various straws to cling to, in order to persuade their incredulous disciples they are really on to something nouvelle, profound, and not really so deviant. By re-posting on social media, messages of highly-respected holiness preachers, ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED teachers quietly convey the impression that there is only a small gap (which presumably requires “hyper-boldness” to cross) between their messages and those of such men of God. Indeed, a portion of a message on the Assurance of Salvation can very well be mistaken for one on unconditional Security of Salvation, but in reality the gap is yawning! And no one familiar with the likes of Pastors Adeboye or Kumuyi could by any means attribute ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED to them. As a rule, it is safe to specifically find out what a man of God believes about ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED before linking them with (or, sadly, exonerating them from) the teaching.

Later on in this article, we will be mentioning the one notable Nigerian minister who unfortunately now endorses ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED; but many would probably be surprised to know that contrary to sly misrepresentations on the subject, the revered father of the Word of Faith movement, Revd Kenneth Hagin, categorically denounced the hyper grace teaching of ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED while he was alive. In his words: “Today there are not too many old school Calvinists -- their doctrines have been watered down -- but now there are "new school Calvinists." "New school Calvinism" is basically the doctrine of eternal security, or "once saved always saved,"

You have probably heard of the teaching about “Eternal Security”, a.k.a. “Once Saved, Always Saved” (ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED). Chances are you probably don’t think it is worth splitting hairs over. The Apostle Jude (Jude 1:1-5) however obviously encourages otherwise. ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED is the belief that once a man is born again, he can never lose his salvation, irrespective of what he later does or fails/refuses to do. The reasoning is that since man did not do anything to get saved (it is of course true that salvation is entirely by grace), it also follows that he should not need to do anything to keep his salvation. The parable of the wedding garment in Mathew 22:2-13 however debunks this outright. The fellow who initially got a free undeserved invitation to the Wedding later ended up in outer darkness for failing to show appreciation for the invitation by observing the expected simple dress code. Another little extension takes the ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED argument much further, from “not doing” to “doing”: nothing a believer DOES (not even the filthiest, most despicable action imaginable) can make him lose his salvation! After all, using the analogy of the physical birth, can a baby become “unborn” simply because of his wrong and unhelpful doings? How can a “new creation” then ever go back to becoming “old” again! The fallacy with this analogy is that it fails to recognize that salvation at this point in time is still an on-going process. The new birth saves us from the power of sin, but not yet from its presence (called temptation). We must ensure we continue to believe Him Who has saved us, and continue to follow Him, resisting all temptations hauled at us by the enemy of our soul, until we eventually reach eternity. At that point outside of time, our salvation would become consummated and totally irreversible (1 Peter 1:3-5, Revelations 3:5). ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED comes with special in-built mechanisms and camouflages to make the Church continue to wave it aside as trivial. On the one hand, most ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED teachers are quick to shout themselves hoarse that even though their teachings clearly make sin a nonissue, they actually do not support living in sin. Of course, that unrealistic assertion is not borne out by evidences that clearly abound! For instance, the Southern Baptist Convention in the United States, one of the major purveyors of ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED, recently (at their 2010 convention in Florida) had to admit “a scandal that has become all too commonplace in our own churches”. That scandal was higher incidence of adultery and divorce within the denomination compared with the “unchurched” they were trying to evangelize!

Unfortunately, it didn’t occur to them that the situation might be related with their embrace of the doctrine of ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED (see http://www.sbc.net/resolutions/1205/on-the-scandal-of-southern-baptist-divorce). Then there is also the infamous caveat that goes with ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED. Anyone who for some unfathomable reason loses his/her salvation (for example, Judas Iscariot) is readily denounced as never really having been “saved” to start with! As such, many in the Body of Christ tend to, even if subconsciously, dismiss the doctrine as merely a juvenile theoretical model for describing salvation. Probably unhelpful, but not worth spilling hairs over!
Unfortunately, the issue is quite more serious than that. Two major problems have traditionally been associated with the ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED doctrine, over the 700 years plus since it was brought to the fore in the medieval church. One is the implication for evangelism and discipleship. By traditional Calvinistic teachings, those who are earmarked for salvation would eventually be saved, while those destined for hell fire can do nothing to change the outcome. Under this scenario, the value of evangelism becomes questionable. Most ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED teachers would however, vehemently protest being called Calvinists and declare their commitment to evangelism. However, the teaching of “once saved, for ever saved” clearly makes Christian discipline and discipleship redundant. As will be shown shortly, ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED has zero tolerance for such admonitions that believers should “take heed, watch, and pray” (Mark 13:33), live sober and vigilant lives (1 Peter 5:, walk not carnally, but in the spirit, (Galatians 5:16, Romans 8:1), etc. Not bothering to walk worthy of the vocation wherein we have been called (Ephesians 2:10, 4:1) is the sure first step to becoming blinded (2 Peter 1: 9) to the invaluable worth of our salvation, and consequently rendering ourselves no better than pigs unworthy of such pearls, in the first instance (Mathew 7:6, 10:13). Clearly, ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED is a great evil that must be fought!

When will Politicians Stop playing us?

When I learnt that Senator Saraki visited Ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan, I was expecting another news to have Jonathan support and exalt the Senate President! What a country!
No permanent foes in politics, but Nigerians kept on hating. This is really funny and alarming ; the way Politicians play us. Because Saraki is now in PDP, the Igbos now support him so to say. What a mindset!

Everyone of us plunged this nation into this state because of our mindset. No Development mindset. No innovative mind. We go around sending false information. No one to combat lies. Everyone with his or her opinions just hating and sentimental.

I realised that many of this Politicians are friends behind the scene all to actualise their dream by making Nigerians day dream. So now, Sen. Saraki can now question the federal government?

Nigerians, let's realise that these guys are liars. Atiku told us it is four years he will go for. Buhari told us the same thing for crying out loud. Saraki said PDP is dead now, he is back to the dead party, to treat it? All of them are fighting for themselves and Nigerians are hailing. What a nation!

It was reported that the US President, Donald Trump called his Nigerian counterpart, a lifeless person. As embarrassing and unacceptable as that could be, it is so annoying as to the way some Nigerians respond to it.

When will you as a Nigerian get the right mentality towards this country? When exactly will our thinking be developed? Our thinking is in a developing state, the same reason Nigeria is a developing country.

If a lifeless person leads you, that makes you all dead! If President Buhari is dead and lifeless, then all of you are living in a graveyard. Thank God he is the best lifeless person out of all Lifeless ones.

This is Nigeria where someone will nurture hate of four years and not support the government? How will the country develop?

I'm not expecting development in this country if our minds are still like this.

no one is asking u to pay tithe. That's ur own concern or wish. And leave those that are paying it it's not ur money. Meanwhile, it's evident in the Bible that tithes are to be paid. No time for arguments

Please let's take note

1. In Corinthians, Paul said ladies should not talk in the church. But we have ladies talking in the church as spirit filled or women. E.g Joyce Meyer, Sade Akanni and the likes. There's no other place in the Bible (New Testament) that restricted women from talking in the church. So it was disregarded for it to be a doctrine because it has no basis except as an instruction to the Corinthians. Same thing to the issue of this trousers attachment and co

2. Deuteronomy that said men shouldn't wear what belongs to women and vice versa was not a book of prophets that we would have said was for the future. God was dealing with a situation in Israel at that time. There are many things God did IN Isreal that are no longer applicable in our own time.

3. There are many places outside Africa where they wear trousers. Are we saying God is a God of Africa alone?

4. Theologically, Nothing becomes a doctrine except it was in the old Testament, revealed by Jesus and was exhibited in the early church. It appeared just in Deutoronomy as claimed by others.
5. The issue of wearing trousers I can say it wasn't in the Bible. Do not wear what belongs to men doesn't translate to do not wear trousers or skirts as the case maybe. Some men wear skirts IN other world. Igbos that use wrapper and sorts as men, will they go to hell?

6. There is principle of double mention in reading the Bible. Where else was that law revealed in the Bible?

7. For we are not under the law but under grace. If we still found ourselves under the law then Christ died in vain. I am not saying the law is bad but in Grace, the law is fulfilled.

Final words : There are issues of holiness. I wear long skirts and the motive was wrong. It's a sin. There are trousers for ladies guys can't wear because it wasn't made for them. In my little understanding, Deutoronomy was talking about changing our identity to becoming a lady from a man. Let's not cause confusion in the body of Christ. Serve God wholeheartedly and this becomes no issue as God in his spirit will even direct what you wear. I don't want to condemn people or churches but I used to believe that too until I grew into understanding really the things of God. Trousers were not made for men nor was it made for women.
The important stuff is modesty even without your ear rings, trousers, what's the state of your heart? Let's be led by the spirit of God as be helps us.

I want to tell us about the effect of covering our sins. The Bible was right to say he that covers his sin shall not prosper. Let me tell u this story.

As a kid, I liked playing with stones till one day
i threw one and it hit my mother's fowl and it
died instantly. I thought i was just alone but
surprisingly, my sister was right behind me
watching.Then she said "give me #100 and i
won't tell mum"
I said "i don't have but please don't tell her,
she will beat me up."
The following day, Mum told her to wash the
plates and sweep the surrounding, but she
said: "Mum, TOM said he will do it"
Then she came to me and said: "TOM, u wash
the plates and sweep the surrounding or else,
don't forget u killed a fowl"
Without hesitating, i washed the plates and
swept the surrounding for her.
The next day, mum told her to go and fetch
water and fill the drum. She said again: "Mum,
TOM said he will do it"
Then she came to me and said: "TOM, u
remember that fowl?? Fill this drum with water
or else...."
That's how i drew water and filled the drum.
That same day in the evening, mum sent her to
the market to buy food items, and again she
said: "Mum, TOM said he will go and buy them"
she came to me again and said: "TOM, don't
forget that the fowl is still dead, go to the
market and buy d food items or else......"
I just stood up and went to my Mum with tears
in my eyes, i found her sitted in the house, i
went to her, knelt down and said while crying:
"Mum, I'm so sorry pls forgive me. I'm the one
who killed your fowl but it wasn't a deliberate
action, plz Mum forgive me I'm sorry."
Then she replied: "my son, the day u killed the
fowl, i was at the window watching everything
that happened. Your sister made u her slave
because u did not want to come to me to
confess and apologise. But now u have done
it, u will be free, she will no longer use u
again."
​MORAL:​ Each time we sin, God sees us and
our sins make us slaves, the moment u confess
to God and ask for forgiveness, u are set free.

I am Not a fan of reading literature books at all but reading this biography of Juliana Olayode was no regret for me. I started reading late as some minutes to 1 and finished it about 2:30. It was a blessing to me. I couldn't believe tears rolled down my cheek.

I saw the power of prayer. I saw the power of commitment. I saw the power of communion and fellowship.

On the other hand, I saw the power of lie. I saw the power of fear. I saw the power of low self-esteem. I saw the power of inability to say no.

This book is a book I will gladly recommend to anybody. This 22 year old lady is someone I suddenly loved when I stumbled At her pictures on my phone and I decided to know more about her. The news about her wowed me.
