*ONCE SAVED FOREVER SAVED* This is a doctrine that explains that no matter what a believer does, he can not lose his salvation. I understand that many people believe in this Once Saved For Saved doctrine for whatever reason but I will implore everyone of us to be very much humble to hear what the Lord is saying. I did not write this to argue for or against the doctrine but by the Spirit of God and His help, will like to make us understand some things. It is funny that the Bible is the basis for all of these doctrines. They have their conviction from the Bible but don't forget that many use the Bible for their own destruction and out of pride and lust. Many questions that got raised are, "how would you be saved yet live anyhow? If you're saved, does it mean you can't sin? If one is saved, why would one lose the salvation? Can one lose his or her salvation?" Let's analyse all of these together as the Lord Helps us. Amen I will advise us to read to the end and trust the Holy Spirit to help us. SANCTIFICATION —The Bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe in the Doctrine of Sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until the consummation of salvation at Christ’s return (Heb. 12:14; 1 Thess. 5:23; 2 Peter 3:18; 2 Cor. 3:18; Phil. 3:12–14; 1 Cor. 1:30). [ What We Believe . (Copyright © 2016 Kenneth Hagin Ministries. www.rhema.org )] The teaching would have been correct if directed to those who have been in Christ and remain. Should anyone depart from Christ whether in words or in living, such a person would lose the salvation if he or she doesn't repent. _Let's take this as an assumption unto we get to the end._ Jude 1:1-5 Jude spoke about people who decided to turn the grace of God into lasciviousness. These clearly talks about the teachers and those who believe in these hypergrace or Once Saved Forever Saved doctrine. We saw how that God saved the children of Israel (Christians) from Egypt( Sin) and yet destroyed them that believed not (those who didn't work out the salvation). The complete work of Christ is done at the cross and until everyone gets crucified with Christ, such a person is not of His. This means a call for total surrender and following Christ. You can not claim to be saved and still be living your formal life or be living as the world lives. The Grace of God is not a licence to sin but rather a path to righteousness and holiness. Anyone who dwells in sin reproaches the grace of God. (Titus 2:11-12) In Revelations 2:4-5, Jesus was referring to the problem of the church and asked them to remember their first love and repent or else they will be removed out of place? Can this mean they will lose their salvation? The question then should be what exactly is salvation? Salvation simply means be saved. Does being born again means being saved? Not at all. Being born again is the beginning of the journey of salvation that Jesus set. Jesus had completed the salvation journey and everyone must work it out! Salvation is the translation from darkness to light which happens in three phases and also of three modes. The first phase is Justification which was what Jesus did for us on the cross and by so doing, Jesus had justified us and forgive us of all sins. Justification is being saved from the guilt of sin (Eph 2: . The Second phase is Sanctification. Sanctification is the working out. This means one should walk in holiness and righteousness and in the perfect will of God. If there's no need for sanctification, the Bible would not have referred to it. Sanctification is the process of being saved from the power of sin (Rom 12:2, please refer as well to the aforementioned scriptures). The last is glorification. This is the moment of the end of our faith, the salvation of our souls (1Pet 1:9). Glorification is the moment everyone will become like Christ and will forever be with God. A believer will be saved completely from sin. (Acts 15:11)The journey unto perfection/glorification is the journey of faith in grace. The modes of Salvation occurs in the Spirit, Soul and body.(1The 5:23). The Salvation of the Spirit Occurs when one surrenders totally to Christ i.e become born again (Jn 3:3) while Salvation of the Soul is a continuous process that occurs by the renewal of mind and through discipleship (Jn 3:5, Rom 12:1-2, Matt 11:28-30) and the salvation of the body occurs by yielding to the Spirit.(Rom 8:4-5, Gal 5:16). |
solite3:Don't mistake eternal security with assurance of salvation |
alBHAGDADI:Sir, i will not have to keep typing and typing because i am not here for arguments as you're potraying your mission. I have passed my message and only need you to let's meet on WhatsApp. The funny thing about you guys is you believe that you know a lot of scriptures meanwhile you've turned them all up side down. If you don't repent, hummmmm |
alBHAGDADI:Sir, let's meet on WhatsApp (09094619984) The Ephesians 2:8-9 was clear. Our works can't save us and that was talking about self righteousness. In Phil 2:12, we need to work it out which means sanctification. There can be no glorification without sanctification. And sir, the wedding garment issue. Remember that we have a garment as we can see in Revelations. There is a garment which we must wear to the wedding. This garment is not for anyone to buy or whatever, it is a working out of the realities. Your argument makes me think you're just being funny and you know the truth. What an explanation from the flesh! Sir, go back to Jesus and let Him lead you! |

OSAS IS ONCE SAVED FOREVER SAVED Why Bother About OSAS? You have probably heard of the teaching about “Eternal Security”, a.k.a. “Once Saved, Always Saved” (OSAS). Chances are you probably don’t think it is worth splitting hairs over. The Apostle Jude (Jude 1:1-5) however obviously encourages otherwise. OSAS is the belief that once a man is born again, he can never lose his salvation, irrespective of what he later does or fails/refuses to do. The reasoning is that since man did not do anything to get saved (it is of course true that salvation is entirely by grace), it also follows that he should not need to do anything to keep his salvation. The parable of the wedding garment in Mathew 22:2-13 however debunks this outright. The fellow who initially got a free undeserved invitation to the Wedding later ended up in outer darkness for failing to show appreciation for the invitation by observing the expected simple dress code. Another little extension takes the OSAS argument much further, from “not doing” to “doing”: nothing a believer DOES (not even the filthiest, most despicable action imaginable) can make him lose his salvation! After all, using the analogy of the physical birth, can a baby become “unborn” simply because of his wrong and unhelpful doings? How can a “new creation” then ever go back to becoming “old” again! The fallacy with this analogy is that it fails to recognize that salvation at this point in time is still an on-going process. The new birth saves us from the power of sin, but not yet from its presence (called temptation). We must ensure we continue to believe Him Who has saved us, and continue to follow Him, resisting all temptations hauled at us by the enemy of our soul, until we eventually reach eternity. At that point outside of time, our salvation would become consummated and totally irreversible (1 Peter 1:3-5, Revelations 3:5). OSAS comes with special in-built mechanisms and camouflages to make the Church continue to wave it aside as trivial. On the one hand, most OSAS teachers are quick to shout themselves hoarse that even though their teachings clearly make sin a non-issue, they actually do not support living in sin. Of course, that unrealistic assertion is not borne out by evidences that clearly abound! For instance, the Southern Baptist Convention in the United States, one of the major purveyors of OSAS, recently (at their 2010 convention in Florida) had to admit “a scandal that has become all too commonplace in our own churches”. That scandal was higher incidence of adultery and divorce within the denomination compared with the “unchurched” they were trying to evangelize! Unfortunately, it didn’t occur to them that the situation might be related with their embrace of the doctrine of OSAS (see http://www.sbc.net/resolutions/1205/on-the-scandal-of-southern-baptist-divorce). Then there is also the infamous caveat that goes with OSAS. Anyone who for some unfathomable reason loses his/her salvation (for example, Judas Iscariot) is readily denounced as never really having been “saved” to start with! As such, many in the Body of Christ tend to, even if subconsciously, dismiss the doctrine as merely a juvenile theoretical model for describing salvation. Probably unhelpful, but not worth spilling hairs over! Unfortunately, the issue is quite more serious than that. Two major problems have traditionally been associated with the OSAS doctrine, over the 700 years plus since it was brought to the fore in the medieval church. One is the implication for evangelism and discipleship. By traditional Calvinistic teachings, those who are earmarked for salvation would eventually be saved, while those destined for hell fire can do nothing to change the outcome. Under this scenario, the value of evangelism becomes questionable. Most OSAS teachers would however, vehemently protest being called Calvinists and declare their commitment to evangelism. However, the teaching of “once saved, for ever saved” clearly makes Christian discipline and discipleship redundant. As will be shown shortly, OSAS has zero tolerance for such admonitions that believers should “take heed, watch, and pray” (Mark 13:33), live sober and vigilant lives (1 Peter 5: , walk not carnally, but in the spirit, (Galatians 5:16, Romans 8:1), etc. Not bothering to walk worthy of the vocation wherein we have been called (Ephesians 2:10, 4:1) is the sure first step to becoming blinded (2 Peter 1: 9) to the invaluable worth of our salvation, and consequently rendering ourselves no better than pigs unworthy of such pearls, in the first instance (Mathew 7:6, 10:13).Clearly, OSAS is a great evil that must be fought! |
Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the , and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called: Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied. Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not . alBHAGDADI:Mr alBHAGDADI, I didn't get you in the first place because i didn't get your point. This is a forum and don't come here to dispense the heresies you've been made to believe by your so called pastors. Once saved forever saved or eternal security is a doctrine from hell. Why would you tell me whatever you do with your flesh doesnt matter? 1The 5:22 go and read it. I will not be chanced to type long but i will like to have a chat with you on WhatsApp maybe I will be able to enlighten you further. 09094619984 is my WhatsApp number. But I will categorically tell everyone that once saved forever saved is a doctrine that glorifies sin. Any one who does any unrighteousness is a sinner! Please and please, don't rush to believe your pastors. |
All of these guys are only joking.... Like how on Earth do you expect such crowd? Even some are lies from internet manipulators Anyway 4+4 |
And she's just 19 years |
YorubaEmir:please go and do your research. Thanks |
stanliwise:what exactly are you saying? I am not of the opinion that they shouldn't fight for what belongs to them but in the education sector that is under the so called rot, don't you think the strike is part of the contributors to the rot |
stanliwise:i don't believe these. They should hold beurocracy and the management responsibille. |
YorubaEmir:Very nice!!! 1. Nobody says it is illegal. But in education sector, strike can't make anything better. 2. The demands haven't been met? Since 1999? Please think about it. Don't u think too much of something makes it useless? Strike every year? 3. Who told you there was dialogue? They didn't embrace dialogue. I mean effective dialogue! 4. Many of them have kids in private Universities please. 5. Then they should make do with what they have. At least they are getting their salaries. The earned allowances can better be fought for in a way students wouldn't have to stay at home for this long. 6. They shouldn't jeopardize others Future because of theirs. That's wickedness. 7. I have read it millions of times and putting the students at the receiving end into this situation is unfair. 8. Why should the nairalander not graduate early? So you are opting for delays while they cry for what can't be achieved just yet? 9. Theres no dialogue 10. Like their children are in private Universities. Now, it makes me conclude that the poor is the one that suffers it all. A mother is waiting for all her troubles to end 2019 when her child graduates after spending her life of his, but ASUU kept him in 200level since. Is that unfair? Parents are crying. That ur parents aren't doesn't mean others are not wailing. Google parent's position on the strike. |
RoastedCorn:1. They should sue federal government to court and as well engage the entire public. Since 2009, its not being fulfilled, should we keep deceiving ourselves? 2. Who knew about the warning strike? There's no active public involvenment. 3. Education has been underfunded since God knows when and many of our lecturers and not government benefited from it but they too are teaching nonsense compared to world standard. 4. If that is too small, let's call for other independent source of funds. Read about how education is being funded in Western world. They are not selfish in their fight but it is a wrong approach |
stanliwise:isn't that a lie? Government pays these Universities money per year. Now I'm talking about federal Universities. I know the state Universities, many of them aren't good so to say but how about federal Universities |
Emzyme:lol. Na so o |
It's easier for the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to embark on strike, same with their non academic counterparts, Non Academic Staff Union (NASU) and Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU). Nigerians have been made to swallow the belief that these workers embark on strike because they want to rest. This is however too crude to believe. ASUU has been on strike for five weeks. ASUU strike has become a yearly anniversary since 1999 wasting precious years of students. Many have asked, should strike be the first approach? The Unions always claim that they notify the government before embarking on any strike but it is unbelievable that these so called "learned" don't understand the effect of beurocracy in a democratic system. Maybe that isn't the problem, but there's no effective public involvement. Should there be uproar before the strike, the meetings that are called during the strike would have been done earlier and both the federal government and Unions would have reached a common ground. This is not always the case. One beautiful morning, students would just get stranded not knowing why, until after some time before getting to know that our universities scholars have started their "usual anniversary." For 18 years, strike couldn't solve the problem. Shouldn't these universities workers come to a resolution of resigning instead of disturbing the academic calendars? Should they not seek for greener pastures and leave the "rotten sector" for those who could endure? One would be forced to believe that education in Nigeria isn't as badly funded as claimed by these Unions. Across many federal Universities, there are many ongoing projects of the federal government. It is unfair of these Unions to solely blame the federal government for the rot in these universities. These unions claim that the Federal government is not doing what is expected of them. The students return the questions and ask, "are they doing what is expected of them?" Is it the lecturers that don't teach but set exam questions that have the students at heart? The main effect of these strike actions is the closure of schools. The same way Nigerians are the electricity distributors by owning Generators, the students are their own lecturers too. It is unfair for these lecturers to keep collecting salaries for what they are not doing. The latter might not be applicable to all lecturers in the Universities, but however not untrue. It would be a funny but reasonable decision if Nigerian Students claim to also embark on strike for being "under-taught." The education sector needs funding, but things wouldn't get better if the government is the only source of funds. In Nigeria, quite a number of unions would embark on industrial strike actions in a week and make life unbearable for many Nigerians. If these unions can not seek for whatever they are asking for without abandoning their work and still expect pay, I suggest that all schools be shut down, privatised and let us know that the poor don't have the right to education. ASUU and other universities unions are only infringing on the rights of students by employing a wrong approach for the right course. It is saddening how a 4 year course turned 8 years because of ASUU strike. It is heart breaking for a student expected to graduate 21 years graduate 27 years. I am not saying they shouldn't fight for what is theirs, but the power of dialogue and active public involvement can not be undermined |
the bad strategies of PDP will kill them. stop rejoicing when APC haven't done any campaign. let's wait and see.. working underground... trust me JAGABAN knows what he is doing Buhari will defeat Atiku JAGABAN will get the support of Obasanjo Atiku will lose in 2019 |
Nigerians na His name is on it so clearly but what can't be said? Nigerians |
soji0509:I did call them and i was attended to but that was 2016. And abuja, Lagos and ogun state |
Nnamdi Kanu's pain should be felt because in the actual sense he is right. The approach might just be too deadly but his agitations are right but without direction. Nigeria can not continue this way! We need a total change and overhaul of our political administration... Can we have a different person apart from Buhari and Atiku? Please! .but if that ain't the case.... Buhari still the better option compared to Atiku |
So go and meet the Senate and not shout at the president.. please behave! |
Nigerians aren't stupid in anyway and we know the truth. PDP can not rule Nigeria again! If it is to rig let them.rig it rather than Pdp getting back to aso rock |
Lalasticlala come and see that ASUU has only gone on strike twice which this is the second during Buhari's regime so who are those that are shouting... |
The Academic Staff of Universities Union (ASUU) and the Federal Government of Nigeria are always in conflict over funding of the Nigerian Universities, better working condition among other ASUU demands. And each time the two parties call for a meeting to settle their disagreements, the meeting usually ended with the government promising the union that the demands would be met soon. However, the government's refusal to meet the union's demands since 1999 has always been the basic reason ASUU goes on strike almost every year. Here's the timeline of ASUU strike since 1999. 1. 1999 After the end of the military era in 1999, Nigerians ushered in democracy and a government that promised to be people oriented. But it didn't take long for Nigerian students to experience a disruption in their academic pursuit. Few months after the Obasanjo-Atiku administration was sworn-in, ASUU embarked on a nationwide strike and it lasted for five months. 2. 2001 In 2001, ASUU declared another strike over issues that are related and the reinstatement of 49 lecturers sacked at the University of Ilorin. The industrial action was aggravated when the then President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo described Nigerian university lecturers as "a bunch of lazy and ungrateful people" The strike was called off after three months. 3. 2002 Having had an agreement with the Federal Government during the previous strike, the union was forced to embark on another industrial action on Sunday, December 29, 2002, after the Obasanjo administration failed to implement the agreement. The strike lasted for only two weeks. 4. 2003 In 2003, Nigerian university undergraduates had to stay at home again for six months as ASUU embarked on another industrial action due to the non-implementation of previous agreements, which covers poor university funding and disparity in salary and retirement age. 5. 2005 Nigerian university students again experienced another disruption in their academic calendars as universities lecturers went on another industrial action. According to the Guardian, the lecturers went on strike for just two weeks. 6. 2006 In April 2006 academic activities were paralysed in all public universities across the country when ASUU declared a 3-day warning strike. It eventually lasted for one week. 7. 2007 The 2006 industrial action was followed by another on March 26, 2007. The strike lasted for three months. The reasons for the strike was pretty much the same reasons for the previous strike. 8. 2008 In a bid to press home its demands, ASUU went on strike for one week in 2008. The demands included an improved salary scheme and reinstatement of 49 lecturers who were dismissed at the University of Ilorin. 9. 2009 In 2009, lecturers in public universities across the country embarked on an industrial action that lasted for four months. The strike which started in June was called off in October. Before the strike was called off, the Federal Government and the union had an agreement. The 2009 ASUU/FG agreement would later become the reason for subsequent industrial action. 10. 2010 The year 2010 also saw another setback for Nigerian university undergraduates in their academics as ASUU embarked on another indefinite strike that lasted for over five months. The strike started on 22 July 2010 and was called off in January 2011. 11. 2011 Since the FG failed to honour its 2009 agreement to adequately fund universities in the country and implement the 70-year retirement age limit for ASUU members, the union again paralysed academic activities nationwide in December 2011. The strike lasted for 59 days and was called off in 2012. 12. 2013 Again, the government's failure to review the retirement age for professors from 65 to 70; approve funding to revitalise the university system; increase the budgetary allocations to the education sector by 26% among other demands led to another industrial action. The strike was embarked upon on July 1, 2013, called off on Tuesday, December 17, 2013. It lasted for five months, 15 days. 13. 2017 On August 17, 2017, ASUU again declared an indefinite strike over unresolved and contentious issues with the Federal Government. The strike was called off in September. 14. 2018 Again, due to the Federal Government's failure to meet its demands, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) declared an indefinite nationwide strike. The union announced the strike on Sunday, November 4, 2018, after their National Executive Council meeting held at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State. https://www.google.com.ng/amp/s/amp.pulse.ng/communities/student/all-the-times-ASUU-has-gone-on-strike-since-1999-id9072409.html |
