gensteejay: OP and Martinez19 are right. To an extent.
Though I'm irreligious, I believe without any shred of doubt that God exists (not the gods of religions).
God or nature sees nothing as right or wrong, good or evil, up or down, light or dark. All these are relative depending on one's frame of reference or ethical standard.
There is no right or wrong. But Karma, the law of cause, is universal unlike concepts like right and wrong that are relative and vary in definition from one to individual to the other, from one nation to the other, from one culture to the other. karma is another topic. Karma as it is classically defined is a myth. Karma as consequences is real. If i was rude to my parent, then my kids become rude to me, everyone says that is karma, which is total bulshit. But if i was rude to my parent and they flog me for being rude, then that is karma. Karma aint a force of nature. |

obonujoker: Almost all articles of atheism, devil worship etc, are always to attack Christianity...
Now to many persons, Christianity is a religion ( true followers though know its a lifestyle ), like other religions I.e Islam, Buhdism etc, and the end point of all these religion is that there is a God.
The main point of Atheism is to prove that there is no God...
Atheist believe in fairness (so to speak), so why concentrate more on Christianity when juxtaposed with attacks on other religions??
Tell us why you atheist focus on Christianity... because that is what you want to believe. You have already concluded that your own religion is special, so you believe it is being specially attacked because it is special. You opened this thread so that other christians like you could come and romance with you on how special you all are. |

Awol1: As compelling as your argument is, I think it falls short of objectivity and subjectivity even.
Subjectively, people have what they call good and bad in their locals.
Objectively also, the world has its goods and bads.
Though the notion of spiritual consequences for wrongs done is shaky, I still think KARMA is real.
In all, Man is free but everywhere in chains! dont use terms you do not understand. Objectively and subjectively prove that my arguments are wrong. Admit you cant and i will break it down for you |

I say this a an opinion only because i want to be politically correct. If i would be blunt, this is not an opinion but an irrefutable fact!
Right and wrongs dont exist! They never had and will never exist.
What you call moral judgement is an illusion, a worse illusion is what we call SIN. There is nothing like sin.
You have a choice and right to do whatever you want to do in life. Yes. You can choose to be anything. A serial killer, an armed robber, a rapist, think of the worst things you can imagine (you only think they are terrible, they aint).
Life is ruled by actions and reactions not good and evil, not right and wrong.
There are consequences for everything you do (not spiritual consequences).
Think about this. The Europeans almost wiped out the Native american indians. Was it right or wrong? Today America has had several presidents but none of them is a true indigene of america. The indigenous americans have never been president. Their lands were taken from them and they were sent to reserves like animals. Was it right or wrong? If all the native americans were wiped off, who would judge the europeans?
It is all about power.
If a race war should break out today, why should the weaker races not be wiped out?
As long as the consequences are acceptable, anything can be done.
We do good, because the consequences of doing good are more favourable to us. Not because good is a divine rule |

You sound pained.
I didn't claim to be an expert.. I said experts are throwing in the towel.. I didn't say I was.
Talking about not losing money .. if you bought 1 BTC at about 6m last year and it's worth just about 1.6m now, that's a profit??
Lol, stop sounding smart when you aren't.
Goodluck with your hodl anyways, I was advicing a novice about to invest his money not you who is a supposed Satoshi Nakamoto cousin.
PS You can put your opinions in clear terms without sounding like a kid who had his meal taken from him.
Next time learn some courtesy, stop running your mouth like a leaking faucet so you expect to cash out every year right? This is exactly what i am saying. You mistake cryptocurrency to be a speculative instrument. Which it is not. Any investment in crypto is an investment in the under laying technology which would take time to mature. Research into how the stocks of apple has grown. Did it take one year? Did it take two years to be worth what it is today? Crypto is based on a disruptive technology which is still not well understood or accepted in mainstream business so why the fuse about the price of cryptocurrency. As i said before. If you aint happy sell to those who know the value and you people should stop the noise |

khassy: It's easy to say from what you read till you start it and then you'll see that theories of cryptocurrencies and it's reality are opposite side of the coin.
Every book written about Bitcoin dates back to last year when Bitcoin was rather predictable
It's a whole new level now.
Even the pros in bitcoin are throwing in the towel and going home, don't think you know more than them because you read more a lot of you claiming to be crypto experts dont know jack about crypto. So it crashed... what is the big deal. Can you tell us why it is crashing? Do you know why there was a boom last year? Was last year the only boom bitcoin experienced? Is this the only time bitcoin is crashing? Please if you dont know any of these then pls stop talking about crypto as if you know anything about it. Just because some people made some money from crypto last year all of a sudden they are all talking about bitcoin and co as if they understand anything about it. I read all the comments on crypto here and i was just shaking my head all through. How can anyone say he has lost his money to crypto. Did the coins get stolen or what exactly? You bought a coin that rose from about $700 to $19000 in a year and only dropped to $4800 in another 10months and you all screaming crypto is a bad investment. So you were honestly expecting bitcoin to be $100,000 now or what exactly were you guys expecting? How? Crypto is a good investment if not the best investment. It is not for those who are expecting it to multiply their margins within a few months. Please sell your coins to those who know the value and let us hear word |

hahn: What happened to me this year sef just get as e be.
So I was finally making N25k daily from my website and saved more than N1m and decided to hire a professional SEO company to handle my seo so that I can rank for more keywords and make more money. My target is to make 100k+ daily which is actually what my competition make.
The SEO company charged N150k per month and on the first month we found out that Google had penalized my site because of a Yoast plugin issue. With the Yoast plugin new update they was an option which was usually turned off by default but was on with the new update and thus pages were created automatically using images and no content. Coincidentally Google's new algo or whatever just came out and in it included a rule against pages with only images. And thus I was bleeped.
You can read more about the Yoast issue here https://charlesfloate.co.uk/yoast-mess-up. Many people were affected by this issue. If you go through the comments you will see one guy complaining about how he went from $1,000 per month to $100 because of his drop in traffic.
Also the seo company discovered that for some reason my backlinks created to my website were being removed so now I had to pay for on-site seo and also backlinks. To cut the long story short I spent all my savings trying to resolve this issue and I am still working on building more backlinks.
Daily income has gone down to N5k-N10k daily and yes I am royally bleeped because I have to fuel my gen and run it for 24 hours as we barely have power here. Nepa did not even blink the light throughout the weekend and as I write this the generator is on and making noise. Data, feeding, diapers, baby food etc sef dey there but we are managing.
I don't even know what to call this one. Whether bad investment or simply bad luck but thought to share.
By the way, based on the kind of person I am due to the low traffic I was getting and free time I got I used that spare time to build 3 new websites and now I am working on building them to profitability. Man never back down good job bro. |

Tallesty1: I don't even know if I should call it a bad investment because it was more like a fraud. Ordered for recharge card pins worth millions and was supplied fake pins. Spent the rest of the money fighting them but didn't win. It was a very bad experience and pushed it below ground zero.
The second one was a woman, things were going bad for her then and she was good to me when I was struggling to feed twice a day. Like she knew I was going through a hard time. Gives me food and money every Sunday. So I gave her N350k to start food stock business, her husband convinced her to invest it MMM. she lost everything. wow!!! Seems mmm did a lot of people in. Whenever you get scammed dont bother fighting the scammer, learn your lesson and move on. I have never reported any case to the police. It does not worth it |

This is in response to this wonderful thread https://www.nairaland.com/4852491/how-old-when-made-firstAfter going through the thread i realized that many had made money but lost all or a good chunk. This is my own story. Abattoir Investment As a student in Futa, i usually patronized a butcher called Nurai at the abattoir behind Chicken Republic at FUTA Junction. The guy was very nice to us and always gave us extra meat to what we bought. When i had my first major breakthrough, this guy was the first person that came to my mind. I gave Mr. Nurai 500,000 naira as investment into the business. The man lost all the money within a few months. I still like him and i know he did not do it intentionally but it was a big blow to my finances when i needed a backup source of income. business agreement with a nairalander i wont mention his name, but i had an agreement with a nairalander, but i suspect he diverted the money into mmm. Long story short he still owes me 400k after refunding about 600k to me. Ministry of works contract Never take a contract during elections. Goodluck Jonathan awarded lots of contracts a few months to the 2015 elections. I got several road furnishing contracts November 2014. Unfortunately we had to borrow money to do the Job. Lost about N7million there. Government still owing us 54million (i did it in partnership with another company in Abuja) it was a massive blow and my worst mistake in life not just business. What is your own story? Be honest and detailed so we can learn from each other. |
