This is in response to this wonderful thread https://www.nairaland.com/4852491/how-old-when-made-first

After going through the thread i realized that many had made money but lost all or a good chunk.

This is my own story.

Abattoir Investment

As a student in Futa, i usually patronized a butcher called Nurai at the abattoir behind Chicken Republic at FUTA Junction. The guy was very nice to us and always gave us extra meat to what we bought. When i had my first major breakthrough, this guy was the first person that came to my mind.

I gave Mr. Nurai 500,000 naira as investment into the business. The man lost all the money within a few months. I still like him and i know he did not do it intentionally but it was a big blow to my finances when i needed a backup source of income.

business agreement with a nairalander i wont mention his name, but i had an agreement with a nairalander, but i suspect he diverted the money into mmm. Long story short he still owes me 400k after refunding about 600k to me.

Ministry of works contract
Never take a contract during elections. Goodluck Jonathan awarded lots of contracts a few months to the 2015 elections. I got several road furnishing contracts November 2014. Unfortunately we had to borrow money to do the Job. Lost about N7million there. Government still owing us 54million (i did it in partnership with another company in Abuja) it was a massive blow and my worst mistake in life not just business.

What is your own story? Be honest and detailed so we can learn from each other.

am a photographer and am very good at that.. Also I learnt Shoe making then immediately after nysc so I can really build shoes myself. Those are the things I know I can do very well.... At least making of shoes and selling to the people.
i can link you up with emmon clothing, you can build on your knowledge of shoe making. Mind you this guy makes shoes costing a million each so, this is not your average fashion designer. But i need to be sure you wont be a liabilit?y. No body wants to carry dead weights along. As i said before. Emotions dont get to me. Open a thread here and display your works. Mention me when you do and we take it up from there

bro you dont get it. I am not the emotional kind of person. I deal with facts and reality.

Ask yourself this question, 'is there anything you can do so well that anytime there is a need for someone to do that thing people will first think about you.

Help me, help me, is not enough. There are millions of people needing help. Dont be part of them. Be one of those people will be ready to pay to help them get things done

I get your point though, it is the conditioning. If you wanna be a rich man, work hard. If you wanna be a rich woman, marry a rich man.

There is one thing I have come to observe though, it is the fact that lots of guys love the status quo. They might complain when they wanna yab ladies, but they love the bragging right.
woo, good night

2015. N1.5M to be exact, and since then there have been no turning back. Between 2015 and now I have made over N180 million. Ten years ago if anyone had said I'll ever see a million I would have laughed that person off. 15 years ago I was walking round Festac Town, sometimes barefooted selling vegetables (shokor) and okra. When the season comes I sell corn..With a trey over my head walking round Festac shouting "BUY SHOKOR". It's the most humiliating thing that can ever befall any on in secondary school as I get to see most of my classmates..girls included. I once saw a classmate and nearly ran for cover, unfortunately the trey fell on the road, and right there I had to stop and picking back the items one by one lol.

The day Nigeria played South Africa in the semi final at the Ghana Nigeria 2002 Nations Cup I wasn't even allowed to see the game. I had to go Kiri. Then, as timaya said " I dey on my own Jehovah just bless me o". God took me from rags, the bottom of the food chain in the family, the most despised and hated, God took me from that to become the richest person in the history of my family. Anyone who doubts the existence of God and his propensity to fight for and bless the underdog, the oppressed, is doing himself a major disservice. I have experienced first hand how God works. It's incredible.
ogbeni shut the fvck up. I have not made 20million as profit ever but at the same time you are talking trash. Tell us how exactly you made your money and stop shouting god here. Did god throw the money to you from heaven? And some daft people are liking the useless post. You have told us how bad things were, it is not a miracle, you must have worked hard and had some luck on your side legitimately or illegitimately . Just tell us how it happened

Aww... Just take a look at the baby cry cry the lord is your strength Madam...Thank God u were smart enough to know all these things on time.

Mr/Miss Perfect bashing her, I hope u have never made a wrong choice in your life before? I hope when you do, you don't get criticized like this because only then will you know that when it comes to other people's experiences, u shld not talk anyhow because what you do to people is what they will do to you in return. That's why, people are dying out of depression because of sharp words from unknown strangers all in the name of savagery. NLand might be a faceless forum but know that every idle/useless word you post here, you will give account. The words you posted, did it lead people to sin? Did it hurt others? Did it make people contemplate suicide?

THINK BEFORE YOU TYPE!!!!!
will you shut your stinking mouth there!!! So because she posted a picture of the baby in hospital, that is evidence that the man is a ritualist? This girls are just dumb. So a child cannot fall ill anymore? So all the children in hospital or even dead were used for ritual according to your peanut brain.
She is obviously bitter because the man is about to marry another lady and you are here talking trash
