My sincere apology and I appreciate the sincere encouragement as well. JazakumuLLahukhayran.

No sir, she was not.
She passed on 05:04am on Eid day after a 'brief' illness. We really didn't see/feel it coming from anywhere, hence the great shock.
During ramadan,I lost a friend who passed away in his sleep.I've never lost anybody that close to me before,i was really scared.Like, is that how people just die.It was then it really occurred to me that we all a have predestined time and we don't even know when that time is.It could be next year or even next week.We are encouraged to live every moment like we won't witness the next.It helps us reflect on what we have put forward.
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raaji'un
May Allah forgive her and overlook her shortcomings.
May Allah make her reckoning in the grave easy and May He be pleased with her.May Allah grant her family the fortitude to bear her loss.AMIN

Islam for Muslims / Re: Good Manners In Islam by harmeenart(f): 8:58am On Oct 11, 2014
@op:jazakumullahu khyran.
Islam preaches having good characters even to those who dont believe.Little wonder why it is tied to our entering paradise.An hadith of the prophet tells us that those who would be in the topmost part of paradise are those who have eeman and good characters.
May Allah grant us good characters.

Reading " Commentary on The three Fundamentals of Islam of Muhammad bn Abdul Wahab" by Muhammad bn Sahlih Al Uthaymeen.
The three fundamentals of Islam as Muhammad bn Abdulwahab described are :
- Knowing Allah
- Knowing the Prophet
- Knowing the religion of Islam with evidence.
May Allah grant us sound knowlegde of the above. Aamin

Noor6009: I knw dis thread won't attract much comments,simply because majority of our muslim bros n sis do not engage in reading to gain more religious knowledge.

This comment wouldnt attract contributions either. In my opinion, it would only repel them. Reason being that you were so quick to conclude and generalise it.
How many threads even attract many comments in this section, apart from when it makes fp? :/ Give people excuses : Some might be busy, some might just want to follow and learn from you, some might even see no reason to share. Moreover, if I aint reading a book presently, what will I post?wink

kayword: For the brothers here;
To the best of my understanding, majority of what has been discussed here as regards initiating "contact" with a lady revolves around knowing the lady to an extent, maybe neighbors, place of work or the lady's brothers or sisters.
I'd like opinions on how to go about it in case of meeting someone u dont know AT ALL. Like someone far from your area that u just happen to meet along the road.

In short, what are the probable ways of "pursuing" a complete stranger (wit d intentn of marriage)
Sisters' opinions too are welcome
-Social medias can be of help here.Say facebook. Get her username, find friends and family and ask about her from them. One problem is that they might not want to disclose anything to a stranger. We all have a way of getting things we want so, how to convince them depends on you.
- Ask questions too

@sissie: wa alaykum salam..
@ all: How are you doing. How is islam and family. I ask Allah to preserve us all and make us steadfast on islam. Amin
Let me start by saying I'm single and inshaAllah hope to get married soon. I think about what the future holds a lot and truth is, at times it scares me. A part that bothers me much is the aspect of raising kids. The age we are in now is not helping matters. I've therefore decided to spend a good amount of time with my kids especially in their early years. This decision would definately affect my career as an engineer. Though I might even end up trading the career for something else even without the issue of kids. Reason because,there is the issue of freemixing between the opposite sexes (men are far more than women in that field). Maybe if I were into medical line or education, I would'nt trade my career cos I like those fields and women can be useful in those fields too. *enuf of my opinion sef*
My last resort(for now) is to have a diploma in education, further in a good madrasah and set up a madrasah for kids maybe weekends (inshaAllah) and if there is still time venture into sewing (I'm still learning the art). I pray Allah makes it easy.
My questions are thus:
For working mothers, how has combining kids with career been?
For mothers who concentrate fully on taking kare of the kids, do you think there more than enough time (say taking up something else)?
For single sisters, how do you view this subject.
I'ld be very happy to hear ur views. May Allah guide us right.

i meant that, in a situation while prayin, for example, lets say a snake was found, u can break from the Solat to get rid of the snake, if ur body hadnt deviated much from the Qiblah, and if u are doubting wether u had deviated much or not, ur conscience shud b the judge...
Anoda gud example is wen, ppl are charging in the mosque and u notice someone wu is not the owner of the fone tryin to take it, otherwise, steal, u can run after the thief, if posibu, apprehend, and go back to ur solah, if only u hadnt deviated much from the Qiblah.

Understood?

Al-Baqir:

Hahaha! Why do you prefer to block your reasoning from common sense?
Seriously,:-/.
This statement shows your level of reasoning.Learn to speak good or keep quiet and think before you talk too, it really helps.

What does 'New year' got to do with Shi'ism?
Again, read well before u reply. I never said it had anything to do with it. I only replied this statement of yours.
Arrogance and Hatred block and blind heart from reaching the truth.
I asked rhetorically if shi'ism is the truth. Plus, i don't need an answer,its rhetoric.

On the other hand. What's your justification of Hijri calendar? Does the holy prophet (saws) EVER practice it? How does the Muslim world celebrate it?
Yes,the prophet practiced it.He used the months in the calender. Last I checked, we fast in ramadan and not August. Umar only started the dating from the year they migrated.
Muslims shouldnt celebrate hijra.
How we celebrate, and intent of the celebration are what Allah need.
Not when it is attached to shirk.

Abdullah Ibn Abbas (r.a) :

“Whatever the Qur’an termed as Halal is Halal and whatever it deemed Haram is Haram and about which it remained silent, this is forgiven” (Abu Dawud Vol 2)

Whatever Qur'an and Rasul remain silent on, NOBODY has the right to term it Haram or Bid'a.
Nobody has the right to make anything haram and halal. Read on the origin of the celebration and see if it is has nothing to do with shrik.
Al-baqir:

May Allah wake me up from my slumber and open my heart, widen my reasoning from the lock of fanaticism.
Bros, I've modified it for u.I noticed some mistakes.
