This still looks like a dream because we submitted the EOI just few days ago and wasn't expecting a response so quickly....

Thanks very much for taking your time to give suggestions, advice and recommendations. May God grant our hearts' desires and bless our endeavours.

Appreciation to irondome for encouraging us to rewrite IELTS just when we seem to be losing hope in the process.

While trying to "process" this information and reading up on the required documents, I want to ask the following questions because I know that this is only the beginning:

-What is required to prove that someone is a close relative e.g. cousins?

-Do we have to provide work reference for every organization that we have worked with? I have changed job a few times while my wife has worked with the same entity for about 8 years.

-Beyond those documents listed on their website, what other salient things to look out for? Practical suggestions?

God is indeed at work.It is sign of good things ahead.I strongly believe that your case will inspire lots of us.cheers man

Evaluate only your "highest qualification" is the recommendation. You may want to take into consideration which of your degrees is most relevant to your intended occupation as well as your present occupation for which you intend to claim work experience for.
You pay a flat rate for the wes eca for all your academic qualifications.
I would advise that you evaluate one of your masters' degree, as evaluating both would give the same report.
It is easier and faster to evaluate a foreign qualification because of the faster/simpler process of transcripts request/verification from foreign schools.
However if you would need to gain points for an ECA of "2 or more degrees" on your CRS then you should consider evaluating your bachelors as well as your masters' degree.

Does it work like that?evaluate all degrees at a flat rate?

Thanks for your great work.

I have a few questions about WES credential evaluation for the Canadian Express Entry program, which I haven't really found answers to on their website. Here goes:

1. For the credential evaluation via WES, I need to understand if it's all my certificates that I need to evaluate through them (secondary + undergraduate + Masters) or it's my highest qualification only (MSc)? I have my WAEC & NECO, BSc and two Masters degrees.
2. Does the origin of the credential have any implication on the outcome and speed of their/WES's evaluation? My secondary and undergraduate education was here in Nigeria, while both Masters were in England.
3. If I have to send more than one credential for them to evaluate, would I pay a flat fee, irrespective of how many credentials they are to evaluate or would it be their fee *(times) the number of credentials to evaluate?
4. I also understand that one has to make contact with their Alma mater to request/make payment for the transcripts. Please could someone explain to me how the entire process comes together? My Bachelors was from UNN and I am currently awaiting my IELTS result.
5. Please feel free to add comments, caution, advice, etc that will aid my application.

WES has noting to do with your lesser qualifications what they will evaluate is your Msc which is your highest qualification.You only make a copy of your Bsc and send to them or send it alongside with your transcript.

They charge you separate for each qualification you intend to assess.e.g your 2 Msc degree will be: 2 X Wes fee

Don't bother yourself about your former ivory tower in respect of your first degree transcript.

Twenty-one people who allegedly helped more than 1,000 foreign nationals fraudulently obtain student visas were arrested this morning by federal agents in a nationwide sweep.

The foreign nationals are now working at companies throughout the United States illegally.

This was a "pay to stay" scheme, said U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey Paul J. Fishman.

EXCLUSIVE: Security Gaps Found in Massive Visa Database

The arrests represent the conclusion of a three-year investigation into the exploitation-for-profit of non-immigrant student visas. Arrests were made in New York, Washington, New Jersey and Virginia by special agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

To help catch the alleged criminals, HSI federal agents set up a fake university, called the University of Northern New Jersey (UNNJ), that provided work authorization for hundreds of "students."

Many of 21 people charged operated recruiting companies for purported international students, according to the U.S. attorney. They were arrested for their involvement in an alleged scheme to enroll foreign nationals at UNNJ, a fake for-profit college located in Cranford, New Jersey. The alleged scammers and the foreign nationals who obtained visas believed the school was real.

However, it was created in September 2013 by HSI federal agents, complete with a Facebook page and website. It never had classes, only offices staffed by federal agents who posed as school administrators.

"The University of Northern New Jersey was just another stop on the pay-to-stay tour," said Fishman.

The people accused in the scheme, enabled approximately 1,076 foreign individuals, primary from China and India, to fraudulently maintain their nonimmigrant status in the U.S. on "the false pretense that they continued to participate in full courses of study at the UNNJ", according to the U.S. attorney.

They also allegedly also used UNNJ to fraudulently obtain work authorization and work visas for hundreds of their clients. The 21 people were charged with conspiracy to commit visa fraud, conspiracy to harbor aliens for profit and other offenses.

"They did not know, nor did they care one wit, as to the students who were coming in what purposes they came into the country for and if they had any ill intent," said ICE Director Sarah Saldaña at Tuesday's press conference.

Undercover agents told each defendant in conversations that were secretly recorded that the university was a sham devised to get immigration status for foreign nationals, said Fishman.

The so-called students will now be placed under administrative arrest by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for their alleged complicity in the scheme. They will be placed into immigration proceedings and likely deported.

Those who bought the phony papers work for the U.S. military, as well as Facebook, Google and other well-known companies, according to a law enforcement official. The buyers were "fully aware" they were acquiring fraudulent documents, according to a source familiar with the investigation.

The companies are not implicated in the scheme and were unaware of the fraud. They are just finding out today that their employees allegedly used fake documents.

The case exposes a potential route to the United States for would-be terrorists and touches the political controversy over the H-1B visa, a nonimmigrant visa that allows U.S. employers to temporarily employ foreign workers in specialty occupations.

"‘Pay to Stay’ schemes not only damage our perception of legitimate student and foreign worker visa programs, they also pose a very real threat to national security," Fishman said.

The arrests come a year and a half after an ABC News investigation found that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) had lost track of more than 6,000 foreign nationals who entered the U.S. on student visas. The investigation also found dozens of schools suspected of being no more than visa mills for foreigners.

Tightening up the student visa program was one of the major recommendations made by the 9/11 Commission, after it was determined that the hijacker who flew Flight 77 into the Pentagon, Hani Hanjour, had entered the U.S. on a student visa but never showed up for school.

She has already gotten the maximum score under "Skills Transferability factors" i.e. 50. I used a CRS tool calculator assuming that her MSc and my MBA were assessed and it gave us 447 points, still lower than the suggested 450.

What remains is the MSc/Professional degree. Even though she possesses both, that may only take us to 434 i.e. additional 14 points to current CRS score of 420.

It appears that our best bet is to look out for a provincial nomination. We just discovered a close relative in Manitoba which inspired us to submit EOI under MPNP last night even though it is not yet open. The site gave her a score of 560.

We read that the ranking score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited during the last round was 548. This gives some comfort when the MPNP eventually opens, right? JesusDWay also mentioned Nova Scotia

The only thing giving us concern is something in the "Settlement Plan Part 2" form that says a close relative can support more than one applicant BUT previous application must have been successful.

He is supporting his immediate sister under "Family Stream" program but according to him, the application has been dragging on for too long so it can hardly be qualified as being "successful". What are your thoughts on this?

is it not possible to apply for more than one PNP at the same time.instead of sticking to one PNP I suggest you look at provinces you may have high chance of being invited.My opinion is to look at provinces that invites more people than the one that invites on a few hundred.e.g BC,Alberta would have been another perfect choice but it seems they don't do PNP thing for now.Though it all depend on NOC sha.I pray with you in your quest to find what fits you best.Goodluck

I don't quite agree with u on the single thing o...the extra scores you get for being married are already given to u if ur not married i.e if you are given 20marks for ur spouse's Ielts it is deducted from d total marks u can score,whereas if ur single the 20 marks isn't deducted. Again a lot of pple here have processed their applications themselves without an IL...but then I just got into d pool so i'd let d gurus answer.

Nice to know you are already in the pool.Your prayer willl be answered shortly.I am not disputing your fact.lets wait and hear from others.I didn't say people have not pull through on their own.I mentioned that they are few with the factors I outlined.one can decide what suits him or her.is matter of choice.

You are on point bro,this attitude by our fellow countryman/woman in Canada was what forced me to pay an immigration consultant a whooping sum way back in 2013 for the April or May 4th,2014 FSWP before the launch of EE in Jan 2015 because my paddyman during my school days who migrated few years after our graduation with the help of his senior brother always refuse to help me with information on immigration each time I call or write him to inquire 1 or 2 things.

Then things were not as tight as they were now.each time I call him or write him he will ignore my call or mail and I was like gush!! why wasting my time calling or writing him.I began making enquiries until I settled with an accredited immigration consultant,signed a 5 year contract which is still binding till date.I stopped calling or writing him until after a while he called me and started pleading that i should forgive him bla bla bla.I know he knew what he was doing because i see it as just being selfish.He wouldn't want another person to succeed like him afterall I didn't contribute to his success.I have never asked to give me anything only to help me with some enquires/questions when I ask.

My consultant has being very helpful with sincere and geninue advice.I knew about this thread,how to post/reply quotes few months back,January precisely.am using it to gather more advice and tips to complement the advice my consultant offers me.I read in past posts were some people wrote that it is a waste of money to engage the services of immigration agents.is worth it if you can afford it.it is not totally wrong.They must be licenced tho or else you are on your own.They understand the system very well and how it works.Immigration laws changes every now and then because they are experts they quickly adjust to it and update you immediately.They file appeal on your behalf and pursue it to legal conclusion if anything goes wrong but you must be armed with authentic papers.Help you in your job search,take it upon themselves to make sure you get maximum exposure to employers via the strict job bank and match you with prospective employers.

However,only a fraction of few have been able to surmount the hurdle on solo effort.I stand to be corrected tho but is a fact.

I am surprise that my friend engaged the service of a known immigration lawyer to process his wife's papers last year.She joined him thereafter last sept.with the lawyer's connection and contacts she is doing a nursing course right now after her HND qualification in Mass Comm at IMT Enugu.my paddy understood the herculean task to do it that is why he opted for a lawyer paid him and he got the job done.

I want to stress further on the line I highlighted.Of the truth I tell you my consultant told me that high targets are set for people applying as singles that's just the truth.whether a woman or a man.If you must beat the CRS score as a single dude then you must be < 30,have Masters or Phd,Excellent IELTS score and other factors to favour you.

IELTS has being the bane of many even at that couples with some good IELTS score,WES ECA Report and their kids are not given stringent conditions like someone who is single.that is why your CRS shoots up the moment you provide details of your familyl status in the EE profile.

I have not seen any lump sum as to what you will have as POF.Firstly,I know you will pay $138 for pre-evaluation of your credential,$530 for the EOI online app to get into the pool then you pay for a full evaluation after you have been invited to apply at the cost of $780.00 so your POF will probably be stated in the ITA letter.Hope that helps

Aussie is also a nice destination country.only and only if you will able to meet their immigration requirements.Lots of people migrate to New Zealand thereafter to Aussie. You need not to apply for Aussie PR once you are a New Zealand PR holder.

I'm still in shock that Marriage is made to be an achievement in this part of the world. Marriage isn't bad but many people especially ladies are under achievers just because of the cultural emphasis on marriage. Oh well

Societal and family pressure are also making it look as if na do or die affair these days.when a young guy is not a family man then everybody believes you are not yet a man so the guy will be forced to get a partner sometimes unprepared for it.

I believe you were aware that the passport will not be valid after Feb.At every pointing time,CIC instructs that applicants travel passport should not be less than 1 year validity.you suppose to have renewed the passport then use it for the application now you want to put youself in tight corner.I renewed my passport 6 months ahead of the expiration date.As per your second question,notify them via your CIC account include ref number if you have one for easy indentification.Cheers

I misunderstood you.I didn't comprehend the message very well initially.You have gotten a new passport but don't how to effect the change on the PR App.Like I suggest earlier send them an email via your CIC account with ref number if any,if possible attach a photocopy of the biodata page of the new passport to buttress your claim.regards
