40manlappy: Well said. Your friend was fortunate; the letter was done for him "codedly".
I called my PFA this morning and asked if they could write such letter on my behalf. The agent paused to confirm and gave me feedback that they don't write such letters.
However, she told me that I can have access to 25% of pension contributions 4 months after leaving my job even if I have relocated abroad.
My take: Apparently, RSA may not be used as the primary POF but probably as a support since CIC would require funds that are unencumbered.
Anyone who intends to use it as additional POF MAY get: RSA statement of account; copy of the Pension Reform Act and asterisked clearly where it was stated that an individual has access to it 4 months after leaving current job and get it notarized supporting it with a brief explanation of how he can have access to the fund once PR is attained. Just my opinion!
irondome, zandora, dupyshoo, JesusDWay, iphie25, beyunce, Etfash what do you say? Honestly he was indeed very lucky.Actually it wasn't on this EE regime he got his PR.It was the FSWP before EE launch I don't speculate what I don't know about.Your assertion about access to 25% of the money 4 months after leaving job is quite correct and RCIC know that very well, but then don't underestimate the power of an immigration attorney remember I said my friend engaged the service of an attorney who I guess might have backed up my friends SOA,RSA claims with legal papers just my guess tho.
When the authorities want to verify your claims they don't go writing or calling the entire PFA or employer for instance they contact the HOD whose contact details you gave them on the reference letter for verification purpose.such scenario could have played out in my friend's case maybe the PPC director who prepared the letter for him was contacted and he simply affirm it
What works for one person may not work for another person just like you highlighted that your were refused by your pension custodian.
it worked for Anbako maybe his confirmation will make those in doubt believe.
Evidence of RSA/Pension fund alone can never and will never be a primary and satisfactory way of showing POF.
Thank you |

Simplemeeeee: Good day all,
Kindly help me if u knw the way out. Please I am new here
I guess I hv made a serious blunder. I need your advice as you know these processes and calculations can be confusing. Last year, I was trying to apply for express entry to canada using an agent(canreach) in canada. I have then paid $1500. I gave them all my details including my ielts and transcript believing that they have started processing only for them to inform me last week that they are waiting for my eca report from WES which I got furious about because they never told me that I will be the one to apply to wes after I have sent my scanned transcript to them and also demanding additional $500 because of nova Scotia skilled worker.
My question is,
1. Is it something I can do my self?
2. Can anyone help me correctly calculate my possible total point for Federal Skilled Worker program and if I have a chance of being selected?
3. What is the overall and minimum benchmark for Federal Skill Worker Program
4. If am to go ahead with wes, how can I get a credit card to pay in Canadian dollars
Personal details: Age: 32 Marital status: Single Education: Bsc Computer Science Ielts score: Listening - 6.0; Reading - 6.0; Writing - 7.0; Speaking - 7.0 Work experience: 6 I don't have an arranged job and no relative there
Thank you Didn't they state that you will be responsible to provide all supporting documents e.g IELTS,ECA e.t.c in the contract document you signed with them.I intend to give you a pointer about something hence I sent a PM notication but you haven't responded. |

yomifowe: Hello, I wouild like to know the period of validity of PAR and EOI. PAR is just a temporal qualification evaluation it has no validity timeframe it is your full qualification assessment i.e IQA that have 5-6 years validity
I learnt that after submitting EOI and the person's application is not picked after a period of time, the application would have to be submitted again and another fee paid. Is that true? . If you are not sent an ITA after 6 months of being in the pool.you will submit a fresh application with the appricable fee so it is true |

keni: Thanks for this heads up @Hartson The problem is that the money can only be assessed at a stipulated time so how would the PFA write that it can be withdrawn at anytime? Please shed more light, this is about the only viable successful use of the pfa I have seen so far Don't misunderstand me please, I forgot to add this berief explanation in my previous quote for clarification. is not that he used only his RSA statement of account as POF My friend said that he sent a printout of his statement of account(SOA) history i.e his savings account with the corresponding contributory pension account to the lawyer. His senior brother who is a top bank manager knows a director at premium pension custodian where his pension account was domicile.with the influence of his brother the director prepared the letter for him with their letterhead, contacts for verification then emboss the PPC seal on the letter for authentication.
From his explanation he used the RS account to support the SOA he tendered to make up for the required fund.
He told me,he only acted on the instruction of the lawyer so how & what the lawyer did thereafter he doesn't know.At the end he got his PR visa case end.His wife joined him last year.Abeg o!!! I no say pension fund is enough proof of fund( POF) and will impress VO if you use it.I only try to share my friend's experience on how he was able to scale through the POF thing.Thank you |

powermike9999: @hartson thx for dis info. So many people have brought up this topic severally in d past wt no satisfactory answer from any1. My question to u will be; 1-Do u know any1 or have u seen any1 who submitted his Pension fund account before & followed this recommendation 2- Did d Canandian consular accepted it as POF. Was the person granted a visa based on this as part of his POF. Pls educate us.
If u have used ur pension fund as POF and was successful pls contribute to assist Others with doubts or if u know any successful person pls contribute Sorry I didn't reply your query immediately I have been very busy @ work.In a nutshell,That is one top secret the consultants or lawyers won't tell you.RSA is listed among the requirements to show as evidence of fund therefore if you must use your pension fund then provide statement of account when you opened it with detail contributory history, have your PFA write a backup letter that it can be withdrawn at anytime. My friend's immigration lawyer used it and it worked. He is in Canada enjoying his life.Thank you |

yomifowe: As an addendum to hartson's response, i was also in this dilemma of either paying for IELTS for my spouse. What i discovered was that, although IELTS is required for your spouse also, there is another way out; you might be required to purchase ESOL (English As Second Language) package, or something like that for dependants above 16 yrs which they will do when you people get to NZ.
You will see the link when you get to the segment of your spouse when filling the EOI.
Although i stand to be corrercted. I don't think is another way out Mr.yomifowe.If your spouse fail to get atleast 5.5 bandscore and you insist on submitting the EOI then be ready to purchase ESOL.Have you checked the price? You must pay the money before your arrival I think is cheaper your spouse do the IELTS then aim at getting 5.5 or above.Goodevening |

irondome: It's okay he has seen a successful precedent with using pension funds, but I would be very careful. IRCC requirements stated the funds must not be encumbered, i.e should be readily available when needed. With most pension schemes across the globe, holders are usually entitled to a percentage of the money; in most cases, in few months after resignation. So, technically, the money ain't readily available.
Bottom line, it boils down to what you are comfortable with.
On his ielts, it would be nice if he could up his score to 8777, depending on his score, he might actually need to start scouting for provincial nomination On the Pension Fund as POF.The person will need to back it up with statement of account starting from when the account was pension opened with a letter from the PFA that the money can be withdrawn at any given time I think the authorities accept that. |

Etfash: @tundechange, 1) You can submit an EOI and may well get selected based on the skills needs in NZ at a specific time. You stand a better chance if you have a graduate spouse or get a job offer though.(Very correct) 2) I think you will be required to do PAR if your qualification was not in any of: NZ, CA, U.S.A, U.K and may be SA.there many other qualifications that are exempted from PAR or IQA pls see Qualifications Exempted there is a link for that 3) Refer to the links posted by @hartson initially on this page - Unemployment rate is at 5.3% in NZ at the moment. Well, very fair in my opinion compare to naija where it is staggering 23.5 if not 50% self 4) With respect to time frame for getting NZ PR, It is case specific. check: http://www.migrationbureau.com/newzealand/faq.php very good
I have a total of 140 points (Have a PG qualification and skills in area of absolute skills shortage; my spouse also has a competent level English and a graduate - level but i still feel my best bet is to secure employment there first since it is doable. On point you will get there
@hartson, how far; have you paid the requisite charges for submitting your EOI? not yet still trying to sort out somethings The NZ Immigration process still looks easy now.. I hope many of us will take advantage now before things get tougher.thats correct @linaluv, you are correct. I want to add 'explainable' to the fund. |

tundechange: Hi guys, thanks to the initiator of & contributors to this thread. I have read the thread from page 1 to 4 and learnt lot. My profile is as follows: OND Accountancy(not necessary) B.Sc. Business Administration (5yrs Part time) does not matter whether part time or regular) 9 years Banking experience(will get 10 bonus points if skill exp is listed among the skills in high demand) 28 yrs of age(perfect) Married(Both of you will do qualification assess.(PAR) Provide proof of English Lang ability e.g IELTS(Academic or G.T) min of 6.5 or above and 5.5 for spouse )
I have a total point of 105 after filling the points indicator, what is my chance of getting an ITA as the cut off is 140 points and above? In the absence of Masters or PhD qualification it will be difficult to hit the 140 benchmark
Am I also required to do PAR assessment before submitting an EOI?Yes you are expected to have done the PAR assessment before submitting an EOI cos you will quote the equivalence of the your qualification and the PAR ref Number where appropriate on the EOI online form.
What are the chances of getting a job based on my qualification & work experience? No sure answer to this as it depends on several factors a.is your skill is in immediate & Long term shortage in that country ? b.could be able to secure job offer from any city apart from Auckland e.t.c
What's the minimum & maximum timeframe to getting a PR?(< 6 months)
Thank you.

Etfash: Hello guys. one baffling thing about the New Zealand Immigration scheme is the fact that, at no point is one required to have a particular amount of money: what the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada calls Proof of Funds (POF).Yes you are right but it seems will be informed prior to issuing you an ITA or you mail the enquiry dept to get such information.I have not seen where they specify a certain amount as POF
Is INZ hiding details of prospective immigrant's financial requirements or are they just 101% certain that jobs are available for qualified skilled immigrants not later than one month after their arrival? They certainly know how to deal with that.there large volunteer organisations that assist newcomers to settle quickly. One can as well reach out to one's national association in that country for easy settlement also.
Lastly, @hartson, you sounded quite confident about the possibility of a prospective skilled immigrant to secure a permanent employment in non- Auckland areas of NZ... What informed this confidence? Is there no LMIA ( Labour Market Impact Assessment) issues there? Read somewhere that unemployment rate in Christchurch is around 3.3% or so - but that is still a huge chance for an area that is largely deserted because of climatic, environmental and some social issues. I think they monitor the impact of foreign labour on their labour market very well through the number of ITAs they issue to nationals from abroad.I equally believe that the reason they give 30 points for job offers outside Auckland is to fill in those deserted cities cos it seems majority want to live and work at Auckland. There might likely be high chance of securing an employment offer from those areas. |

Pls reply as i need to apply before my IELTS result expire next month. You may have limitation here.NZ is very strict when it comes to matching qualification with skill experience.will get no bonus point because your qualification does not match your area of expertise. |

Hi everyone,
if your total score is still hanging on (70-99) < 100 consider applying for jobs outside Auckland.Job offer in any city outside Auckland gives you a max 30 points to get 100+ point

keji00: Please I need a clarity on proof of funds. For how many months must the money be in my account (i) before given ITA (ii) & also after I have applied with the ITA, how many months should it be left in the account. Because I will be collecting loan to put in my personal account. You have been clarified already about que(i) & (ii) I will adivse to be careful on how go about the fund you intend to provide as POF.taking a lump sum as loan and deposit into your account might trigger RCIC eyebrow. You may be asked to provide further evidence like account statement showing detail account history.what will you do when they find out that your account has no transcation history but only a huge amount from nowhere into your account overnight?Be careful play your card well bro |

I can't afford to put $15,143 (N4,600,000) in fixed deposit for six months. Can I just fix it for three or two months and get the certificate? Will the number of months be on the certificate or does CIC contact the bank for verification? Please this money issue is a big headache as am not that buoyant financially. You can have your money fixed for the duration you want even if you want it fixed for 1 week.yes the POI will indicate P(Principal Amount) T(Time) R(Rate) will also show the interest it will yield for the period under review. As par contacting the bank to verify I don't know.Goodmorning |

Pls reply. In addition to Mr Kayode's quote, you get nil point for English language ability with respect to NZ EOI but the main fact is that you must posses a valid IELTS test report before submitting an EOI.You have less than 2 months to the expiration of your test report quickly run through the skills shortage list and find if your skill is listed then come back and tell us.I don't have time now if not I would have assisted in doing that |
