Hello everyone, Please I submitted my PR application in November, My Spouse's Passport used for the application expired in Feb.. I am unable to change it to the new passport no, I hope this does not change anything, or how can a change be effected. Secondly we are told to notify CIC when there is a change in status such as childbirth, divorce etc, please through what channel can CIC be notified of anything? Via the CIC account or by phone or by mail?

I believe you were aware that the passport will not be valid after Feb.At every pointing time,CIC instructs that applicants travel passport should not be less than 1 year validity.you suppose to have renewed the passport then use it for the application now you want to put youself in tight corner.I renewed my passport 6 months ahead of the expiration date.As per your second question,notify them via your CIC account include ref number if you have one for easy indentification.Cheers

Mine was actually posted to the US. I had to visit the school and let the administrator post the docs to Canada. She just assumed the address to be the United States. So, as suggested by Hartson, please go to the school and get this issue sorted ASAP.

Posted to US just imagine.I have heard of a case where someone's transcript was sealed and mailed to UK School instead of the appropriate address.This guy thought it was as a result of snail mail delivery until he travelled down to the school then found the silly mistake done by the person in charge at exams and records dept by then it has taken months so she better do the needful and save herself further agony.

Woman,you need to go sort things out yourself at your former school.Sometimes,the verification documents may have arrived with nobody to attend to it therefore it is your duty to go and hasten up things if not in the next 5 months the status of your WES account will continue to indicate awaiting verification from institution.

sites like kiwis,seek,workhere and few others I can't remember.make sure you fill in all the reqiured information on these sites and have the softcopy of your CV ready for upload where necessary

not seeing your occupation in the short and long term occupation list does not mean you can't apply.An applicant gets extra bonus point if his or her occupation is listed in the short and long term occupation.

As far as I know you can apply so long you found your occupation in the general skilled category but won't get bonus point.

This topic was inspired by a slight "derailment" on the Canadian thread.

I am not very knowledgeable on the subject but I think we can exchange ideas and gradually get more information on the subject.

Let me share a few of what I have found out so far.

First, as a skilled worker hopeful, the first thing to do is to check if your skills are in demand. It is noteworthy that there are immediate skilled shortages and long-term skilled shortages.

Second is to check if you are eligible. If the finding is positive, the next thing to do is to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI).

Be ready to cough out about $530 to support the application

I never wanted us to derail this thread with another matter.however,the discussion is still about migration.have you paid the $530 application fee after applying?their's is quite different from canada.you pay the application fee before you submit the application then enter the pool.it seems employers contact the immigration authorities for qualified applicants then send them job offers to boast their point.

If you've got 130 points then that's pretty impressive.
How the new Zealand PR works is that every two weeks a draw is held and the priority of those selected is as follows.

1. Candidates with a job offer
2.Candidates with 140 points but without a job offer
3.Candidates with over 100 points but not up to 140

A bulk of those selected are usually those with job offers or candidates that have up to 140 points.

The challenge of getting a job offer is similar to a Canadian or Australian scenario. Difficult but not impossible. I have had at least 6 job offers from New Zealand, but the last communication usually ends with 'Let us know when you are in the country' .
In other words some (if not most) of these employers ain't ready to sponsor your visa till they have a face to face interview with the potential employee.

So you could keep applying via a company's website or through job boards but it's barely up to a 50-50 chance.
But with God all things are possible
