I have no word for a graduate who knows how to raise 5 million as a target given by his employer who therein will pay him 25k and don't know how to raise 200k to start up his own business.

Wait

I think I have got the word now such a person excuse me to say is a slowpoke

With all due respect!!! A marketer asking you to deposit your hard earned 1million in say first bank or to invest your 1million in osakpamwan group of companies, which are you going to choose

A marketer can meet such targets cos the banks are well known & NDIC is there for rescue

Raising funds for banks is entirely different from raising funds for personal bussiness

We agree that they lied, just to Clarify.. I am not from the Niger Delta nor do I know (nor care) what religious institution Government Tompolo attends or was born into.

If the real problem is that CASglobal lied, then the thread topic is sensationalist. For your first question, a lot of PMC's are regarded of questionable character. Browse Sons of Iraq about how the US paid thousands of Sunni fighters in order to fight AQ (same Sunni fighters are now fighting Iraqi army), or how the US state Dept is using former warlords (some of whom fought them in the 90s) to hunt Al Shabab. Or the right wing battalions in Ukraine.

I can go all day on that topic. Dont moralize an issue on which Amnesty (rightly or wrongly) was given to all militants who took it, those that did not take it were fought and killed , Tompolo is hopefully reformed, too bad for him if he is not...if Tompolo is a threat he will face the full might of the Nigerian Army, Navy and Airforce. There is a reason the militants sued for peace in 2009 before Amnesty was granted.

Respect!!!

You made your point known without insults

Just that its annoying cos of all the under development in the ND & Jonathan's ineptitude about the whole thing

Imagine JTF donating borehole to Jonathan's community!! Isn't that a shame

if the LG, STATS GOVT, FED GOVT, NDDC, MINSTRY OF ND, the state oil producing community group(equivalent of DESOPADEC & co) had done their job, JTF will not be donating borehole

Isn't it a shame that the presidents village still has a vacuum for such basic amenity

my apologies, I know I'm mixing things up

listen, their are private security companies over the world, even some nations has private army owned by a company and government can solicits for their help and pay them in return and SA has such Army, America security company has been hired by American government to do one job or the other for them, so why the noise if a Nigerian decided to hv one?, if the law forbids him from having it and he went ahead and establish it then he has committed a crime and should be punished. Why am against this noise is that the vessel in question has been stripped of it armoury and it's no longer a threat to any person or nation, it's now a civilian boat just like the Norway government stated

Pls which of those countries outsource such need thru security outfits of questionable character?

Hope you read the line where it says that CSGLOBAL told them that the ship was going to sail on British waters & will fly a British flag with European workers!!

now, it's flying a Nigerian flag on Nigerian waters with nimasa/Nigerian navy workers !!

Not until we put sentiments aside of he is my brother or we attend the same church or we are of same tribe, we will never progress

I am not from SS and am not a supporter of Tompolo but if the vessel has been stripped of its weaponry capabilities then y d noise and the apology, it's clear from what they said that the vessel is not a threat then all this noise should stop since is now a civilian boat.

typical naija mentality but far away in Norway some folks are sweating out, facing charges but here nothing is being done

An entity such as the Nigerian navy/NIMASA can't purchase a vessel by themselves but will require the aid of a militant

For those of you who thinks what is happening is a child play should watch it. Whatever apc is looking for willl be provided by someone else for this government and not GEJ. Whether you described it visitors, whether you call it, whatever name or description, Buhari can still tell those visitors to wait a little. There are ways things are done. No body will benefits if GEJ had refuse to go. At the end, many things will go wrong. Many people will die. Why has Buhari allowed and take all these actions, while there is an existing president? Buhari is about to be swon in within four weeks. Those visits can only be approved after series of exchange of letters, phone calls etc. Why can't Buhari ask those people to wait. What is this rush for.
Am sure whatever, this Buhari is looking for will be giving to him but not by GEJ. Some one else or something will answer him. Everything that has to do that relates to official functions should wait. He has won. He has four years he may not even complete because of his dead body system. Again, why this rush?

so if ambassadors of various countries decide to visit a private citizen, it constitutes a crime?

Since Buhari won, have you heard him giving any directive or order?

So what exactly has he done that constitute a parallel govt?

in my opinion, that statement made by the FG is inflammatory!!

Is a collection of organizations or institutions that are state-like in their organization, management and structure, but they are not officially part of the legitimate state or government. They serve primarily to promote the prevailing political and social ideology of the state. In other words it means
illegal government. Government that is not recognized by law. Buhari has not been sworn in as the President, Hence he should not start playing the
role of a President because as far as the constitution is concern, GEJ is still the president of Nigeria. I hope this explains it better?

Pls forgive my ignorance, can you enlighten me on how Buhari has played the role of a president?

Abuja – The House of Representatives on
Wednesday in Abuja voted to effect 71 amendments to sections of the 1999 constitution. The lawmakers also backed the adoption of referendum for state creation.

They, however, rejected the amendment of Section 9 to allow for a referendum in determining the fate of the National Conference recommendations. Among the 261 house members who participated in the process, 252 members voted in favour of the amendments, eight voted against and one abstained. A two-third vote (240 of the 360-members) is required
to amend the constitution.

The report will be forwarded to the 36 state Houses of Assembly for their concurrence. The 71 amendments approved by the lower house
border on legislative immunity, local government autonomy, state creation, indigeneship and citizenship.

Some others are independent candidacy in elections, budgetary process, life pension for National Assembly heads and role for traditional rulers.

An alteration of Section 7 among others, stops revenue allocation from the Federation Account to local governments that are not democratically elected.

They also approved the dissolution of local government administrations at the expiration of four years commencing from the date the members of councils were sworn in. While altering Section 59, the lawmakers also voted to bypass the president if he failed to sign a bill presented to him within 30 days. “Within seven days, the President of the Senate shall
convene a joint sitting of the National Assembly to reconsider the bill. “And if passed by two-thirds majority of members of both Houses at such joint sitting, the Bill shall become law and the assent of the President shall not be required,” the conference report reads.

In other constitution amendments, house members also approved independent candidacy in elections in Nigeria. A new amendment makes it mandatory for the president to address a joint meeting of the National Assembly once a year.

The office of the Auditor-General of the Federation, Nigerian Police, Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, National Security Agencies have
now been place on a firstline charge from Nigeria’s Consolidated Revenue Account.

House members equally approved life pension for the President and Deputy President of theSenate as well as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives. The life pension would be paid only if he/she was not
impeached from office.

An alteration of Section 241 which inserts a new
subsection (2A) bars Nigerian courts or tribunals from staying any proceeding on account of an interlocutory appeal. House members also voted to include seven items to the concurrent legislative list, some of which are agriculture, railways and pensions. (NAN)

(1) My Brother, devaluation of naira also affects clearing here also. The calculation used to be done with 155 naira to dollar and igues it's now 168 to dollar. So it will automatically change it.

(2) oliverjaid cleared a car for me last year and I know he barely made much on it because I am privileged to know little about clearing and he didnt disappoint me on it.
(3) I have also once referred an agent to him at idi iroko in which this agent paid him 1.3 million for a job in which he had to return the money back because the money was not enough for the job without taking a dime from the money.
So far, I can vouch for him.

So for 2004 corolla, 590k seems fair to you?

I just cleared a 2005 corolla for 420k last week here, though the agent came up with 25k additional charges

he paid a whooping sum of 470k for a 2004 model, then added 120k all in the name of dollar increment

Daylight robbery in my opinion

I surrender ALL to you, Lord.....Withholding NOTHING. kiss kiss kiss

Pls I bought a 2005 corolla from Canada, it's been one story or the other. I have given my agent 420k

Now he is telling me that the car has arrived Nigeria, that I need additional 10k for fast clearing off the ship(whatever that means) & another 15k for offloading the container

meanwhile a group of my friends car are inside the container, all gotten from same source & same agent will clear it, we all have been given same additional bill

I feel I'm being ripped off that these additional prices ought to be covered by the 420k.

Pls how much did the Nigerian custom pegg the corolla 2005?

I mean the estimated value of the said car by Nigerian custom

I think I need your help here. Please help a brother in dire need of your assistance. Pleaseeeee. I have an iPhone 6 plus and using the phone seamlessly as androids seems like a rocket science. Once again, thanks immensely.

Your request is ambiguous, what do u want?

See how u just want to buy wahala!I was using an iphone 5 I got as a gift which I had to sell!I laugh at you in greek if after all I wil say,you still decide to get the 5s!.I'll start with the pros-1.it is a small cute phone.I love the design and size.
2.It is an overhyped and annoyingly overpriced phone which makes it command respect. You can't see jst anyone using it.when u are out and people will be like 'wow, you use an iphone?' And u say 'yep'( with u smiling internally),that's as good as it gets!
Cons-
1.You can't use bluetooth.you hear a nice song playing or u intend getting a picture.brother, you can't use bluetooth o!except its a transfer from iphone to iphone.now how many people wwud own an iphone where u work or sch?
2.You can't download songs, videos, pdf files...in fact anything from d internet.yes..so if u love free music don't bother!I remember I had to buy ed sheeran's bloodstream and thinking out loud songs from itunes for like 400 naira after d naira got devalued.the frustration I felt that day eh!
3.when u buy it,u can't just add your favourite songs o..u need the itunes app on ur pc to sync the songs into ur phone..if u r foolish enough to give it to slot guys to add songs for u,that's ur doom. The day u get your own itunes app on ur pc,all the previous songs and videos not synced with ur apple I'd will be wiped!
4.The appstore is the crappiest av seen after that of windows os..for files over 100mb,you wud need wifi or no download!you must upgrade to the latest ios 8 or you can't download some apps!once you are on ios 8,you can't downgrade it or jailbreak ur iphone!you see?
5.Many of the fun stuffs on it are better enjoyed in u.s eg hv u seen someone using imessage in nigeria?nada!
There are many more cons in buying an iphone..bt let me stop here!now the decision is yours to make.

Ma'm if you jailbreak your phone, the above limitations will disappear

I can transfer files via Bluetooth with other phones

I can attach files in mails & send

I can lock individual apps

There are good app stores for jail broken devices, apps u would have bought can be gotten free, no hidden or extra charges

you can download virtually any stuff u want & play so many file format be it music or videos

There is even an app that allows u partition ur iPhone, one partition runs on IOS while the other on android

the list goes on

Hello Fellow Nairalanders,

I have consignments on Grimaldi Grande Morocco that arrived Lagos port on 17th March.

I gave clearing job of one of the vehicles (2004 Corolla S)to a clearing agent on Nairaland. He charged me 350k and I paid on Tuesday 17th March.

Today he sent me a message on watsapp that customs have increased tariff and 350k cannot clear the vehicle. He's demanding extra 120k.

Can anyone help confirm this pls?
Thank you!

Pls kindly state his moniker here, so that others will be cautious when dealing with him or at least he should come & explain himself
