Politics / Re: Breaking News: Niger Delta Militants Bomb Agip, Aiteo 600,000bpd Facility by harveyspec: 9:02am On May 29, 2016 |
everyone keeps calling on buhari, what is delta state government & that of bayelsa doing? Is rivers & awkaibom not part of ND? Why aren't their facilities being bombed? the governors are the chief security oficers of their states! what are they doing with their security votes, don't they have intelligence gathering? |

Firefire: Ta!! why didn't jona start it early in its early days of his administration? At least he would have had enough time to "implement it" Why didn't he begin an immiediate implementation when he got the report? it wasn't important to him, if it was he would have done something about it you can't force this on buhari to do besides, alot of the recommendation will require NASS before it can be implemented. |

TPAND: Don't mind them... Nigeria is a failed state, if Niger Delta ceases from Nigeria, the whole Nigerians would be touring Niger Delta, because the massive infrastructural development that can be achieved with all the 2.2million barrels a day, will be as that of Dubai. Just being objective that's what you think! if ND gains soverignity, there won't be peace nor development in the next 10yrs they will use years to fight over where the capital will be another for who will be president, VP, etc then you will start hearing, our oil is more than yours so we should be this or have this & that do you know how many lives where lost because of the EPZ project in delta state? it's a proposed fertilizer plant, it's a massive major project The project had not started when people started fighting just because of the name! what started the famous warri crises? ordinary location of local government headquarters agreed 13% is small but what have the state government done with it? what has ministry of Niger DeLta done? what has NDDC done? what have the various communities done with the funds they get from the oil companies? The problem with ND is US, it's a collective fault 2 Likes |

adimsmt: there are always 2 sides to a coin. recovery isn't the only deal on the table, there has to be punishment depending on the circumstances. metuh could posses other secrets about other people or deals that the government is interested in, so they can refuse a refund & subject you to the rigors of the court system thereby turning the screws on him & mounting more pressure on him to cave in, knowing fully well that the court will likely convict him & cease his asset. it's a win win for the government either way. metuh was bragging at the beginning, he later started running from court to court to seek injuctions, that failed now he is literally begging to return the funds, with time he might cave in to other demands if there are any by the government. it's perfectly legal
metuh witness, okupe said that metuh presented a proposal on how to launder uncle jona's image, the president approved & the funds were transferred to his company's account
they aren't difficult to prove mydear, they have already stated that the funds were used for personal purpose (to launder jona's image) The funds in question belongs to the government & they have come to collect it it's the sole perogative of the government to choose to accept a refund with punishment or without punishment 1 Like |

your best friends mum you say, how about your best friend, how much is he making? what about your mum & you? I ask because any sane person will benefit from it first, then extend it to his siblings & finally friends/others so I'm interested in how much you have made & not your best friends mother |

adimsmt: GEJ did not credit his account, it was NSA that credited his account! The money wasn't even paid to his personal account but to his company's account(desdra or so) so as a learned man, his company's account was credited from a body responsible for security matters for electioneering purposes, you mean to tell me he didnt know that he was breaking the law GEJ was the government then, a new government has come in to check how the arms money was spent, only to discover that money for arms was diverted for elections purpose. The government wants to collect the money back, you say they are wrong 7 Likes 1 Share |

kcnwaigbo: Pls answer this, if the court in Nigeria doesnt OK, an extraditction of a Nigerian to another country, can Interpol just come in & swipe him off? so also nigeria can not approach the foreign asset recovery team without showing paper work from our court's. it's a start do you know more than the judge or the AG if you do, kindly tell us the steps involved when assets are to be seized in a foreign country 3 Likes |

ojuu4u: there are things the government will not dare do!! can you imagine this press statement coming from the British government over the throne of England? there are battles you don't fight & this is one of them The government can try this or even revoke the so called licenses of some traditional rulers but not a first class king like that of the Benin. The government might not get to survive the consequence of such action, if they attempt to do that to the Benin kingdom. it might be a phyrric victory for them. Remember sultan of sokoto was removed by abacha but all then military adminstrator of Edo state could do was suspend the Oba from the Edo state traditional council, not to remove him as Oba!!! nor be u put am there there are certain sites that have been designated by U.N. & some government as "cultural sites" there is no amount of development you want to do that will make you go destroy or temper such sites! that's respecting history & cultural values on the other hand, things are changing, if the traditional rulers don't uphold those values that they have always been known for, then the government might have the guts to try such & might get away with it cos the people will not care (cause of their anger towards the ruler) 1 Like |

porka: pls if your salary was N100,000 before & it was now slashed down to N40,000. Will you be able to live life the way you were living when it was N100k, factoring in the fact that you have no savings A scincere answer will do! all oil dependent countries are affected but they have a robust reserve to cushion it's effect, nigeria does not have enough in its reserve to cushion this effect. blame the previous adminstrarion for refusing to save for the raining day! for refusing to build refineries, LNG plants, steel factories, roads etc when revenue from crude oil sales was high |

TippyTop: oil companies are taxed by the various communities in so many ways before their operation is allowed to go on e.g. An oil company want to build a gas plant, the community can say build us a school first or a road etc the same community will demand that they will be the ones to build it, contracts are awarded & the contractor who is probably a chief/king or strong man in the community ends up doing a shabby job or not executing the contract at all since the condition has been met, the company goes ahead to do their thing & the community is left with a bad road or no road at all the company cannot interfere or probe why the contract was not executed or Shabbly done else you end up having issues with the community & invariably a setback on their project, so they do eyes right the very people who are in the position to cry out, whoose voice will be heard are the very same people who got the contract so who is to blame in the scenario? the government or the oil company? this scenerio was used to illustrate that the deprivation of the ND isn't soley caused by the government! on the issue of government, GEJ failed woefully, he only empowered a few individuals & left the region the way it was peace was achieved in the ND in his time because he settled the few powerful ones at a price, which we are paying now & will continue to pay why didn't he use his power as head of government to ensure that massive development is carried out in ND? instead NDDC, Min of ND, the various OPADEC were used as conduit for embezzlement! what did he do about the so called "oil block ownership imbalance" ? abeg the story goes on 1 Like |

TippyTop: is it reasonable enough for them to cripple the economy? Do you know the ripple effects of their actions? loss of jobs! tension in the region! scaring away investors! enviromental polution & degradation! electricity blackout! loss of revenue for the nation & invariably for NDDC, Minstry of ND, the various ND states the list goes on The problem with the ND doesn't lie with the government only but also with the people & its leaders Setting aside the failure of the government(the state governments, NDDC, Min of ND, the various OPADEC [oil producing development agency across the ND states] setting all these aside which represent the government, do you know how much the various oil producing communities get from the respective oil companies right from the exploration & production companies to the servicing companies down to construction companies? all those monies ends up in the pockets of the youth leaders, cheifs, community chairmen, kings etc so government has failed agreed, what about these monies from these companies? even the so called reformed militants, what have they done for their respective communities? have you heard anyone doing anything? Asari left his beloved ND & Flew all the way to republic of benin to cite a university! government hasnt been able to utilize the 13% effectively, when given 100%, it will be the same story not until corruption is dealt with! not until patriotism is instilled! not until the leaders of the ND puts to use the funds they have recieved to good use it will be the same story 2 Likes 3 Shares |
