Lol, they should throw their best shot, anyone who has ever wired a house will understand my analogy perfectly or anyone who has climbed the ceiling to do any wire/cable work even For satellite dish installation.

One thing is to boast that u can get it done in a period of time but it is a different and disgusting kettle of fish when u are offered d contract, u get there and show no competence whatsoever. You get in there and arbitrarily decide to dump or shirk your proposal which u used to cinch d deal or contract in the first instance.

Nigerians have been long deprived and knuckled under due to growing use of brute force to quell dissenting voices from the military era. With all due respect, the immediate past government tried to water down such approach and this allowed d people to see that even of all wasn't well, efforts were being made and most importantly, they could air their displeasure and grievances without fear.

Today, that tyrannical era is coming back and it gives people cause to worry. The long suffering of the occupants of this geographical space is one that naturally engenders really high and seemingly unrealistic hopes especially when one comes with so many lofty goals and ideas to whet their appetites. Especially when u create the appearance of a drastic departure from what was obtainable.

I get you, I'm pro buhari, I too get impatient sometimes & lash out

At a point his traveling became too much for my liking & I have equally faulted some other things too

buhari is very much aware that this is democracy & that the world is watching, so freedom of speech is guaranteed. I think people are airing their view without fear eg fayose, Ffk, twitter rants, editorial pics etc

All that is happening now appears to be filled with uncertainty & no clear cut direction but I believe at the end of the day, Nigerians will see the positive fruits & come to understand all of it
Remember karate kid!!

This might be his style of governance.

Another that is greatly amiss is information management, they suck at it. So many statements that are flying around that are being attributed to him wasn't actually made by him & he is not bothered about correcting them

then the various agencies too, today will read one thing, another day a contradicting story, all that isn't helping matters, it paints a picture of cluelessness

oga up till now buhari has shown no sign on fixing the fault. if he can't let him step down and we get a new electrician.

Oga, the electrician is sweating his ass off inside the ceiling, he is working but you don't know yet cos light hasn't come

Mind you, in tracing those wires, some mistakes will be made, some will be mixed up, some will be mistakenly cut & some will need to be totally retracted with a fresh pulled. It's a long process my brother

Politics / Present State Of Nigeria:not Buhari's Fault by harveyspec: 5:54am On Mar 10, 2016
Only those that are technically inclined will understand the analogy.

in wiring a house, there are color codes that are followed.

Red is for live, black is neutral & yellow or green is earth, imagine an electrician comes to your house & mixes all the color up, in room 1, black becomes live, in the sitting room green becomes neutral etc hope you get the picture

This electrician does this without coming up with a drawing to show this mixed up arrangement. then there is surge & things are blown, a new electrician is called upon to do repairs.

Since there are no new drawings & he has found out that the wiring isn't the norm, he had to take time to trace every single wire to ascertain where it's coming from & it's polarity.

Meanwhile the landlord is growing impatient & barking that there is no light & that the new electrician boasted that its just a bungalow & he will rectify it in 1day. (The new electrician never knew the mess he was getting into, not until he climbed the ceiling)

Nigeria is the house
the original electrician is our past government
The new electrician is buhari
The landlord are Nigerians

Nigerians should accept the fact that things are going to get worse before getting better & this is the "worse phase" our immediate succor will be the rise in the price of crude oil!!

There is nothing Buhari will do about each sector that will not take years to fruition

The price of gas isn't affected, it will take years for an LNG plant to be built, Nigeria only has one LNG export terminal( our past government couldn't build more, it was only on paper, brass LNG has been on paper for more than 10yrs, yet nothing meaningful has been achieved)

It will take years for our steel complex to be revived! look at the mess/politics/bureaucracy dsc & ajaokuta is involved in

even if you diversify into agriculture, won't it take years for the products to be ready for harvest & export

Our mining sector is being raped & plundered by Chinese, Pakistanis & co in collaboration with some state governors(this has been going on for years), this will also take time to sanitize & come up with a working model

We can only hope that buhari will clean up some of these things(cos he can't clean all) & put systems & structure in place that will help our children's(the future) but for us, we have to weather the storm(our shelter will only be the rise of crude oil price & reduced corruption)

I agree with Mr Bruce completely.
This is the worst Nigerian govt since I was born

When were you born? You think Government is magic or changes are experienced over night?

The successive government had refused to plan ahead & save for the raining day, which magic do you want buhari to perform?

We are only dependent on oil! We only have one export terminal for Gas(Bonny LNG)

Any other thing you want to come up with will take years to complete, at least minimum of 3-4yrs.

If you invest heavily in agriculture, how long will it take for harvest to come?

If you decide to build more LNG's, since the price of Gas isn't dwindling, it will take a minimum of 5-6yrs for that to be built

If you decide to revive our steel industry, it will takes years to build

So tell me what buhari can do in the interim to alleviate the plight of Nigerians when there is no money

Obasanjo & Jonathan had more than enough from oil sales & recovered loot, what did they do with all the proceeds

let me give you another technical analysis, in wiring a house, there are color codes you follow

Red is for live, black is neutral & yellow or green is earth, imagine an electrician comes to your house & mixes all the color up, in room 1, black becomes live, in the sitting room green becomes neutral etc hops you get the picture

Scammers on loose.
But how can these scammers be traced?
A friend of mine was scammed last week. He has a foreign friend who sent him IPhone and few dollars. The parcel arrived and he received a message from USPS to contact one Mr Tony to clear his goods. he contacted Mr Tony who asked for 5500naira to clear goods. By the time the whole clearing thing was finished, the guy has spent about 10500naira and till date,he has not received the parcel. The Mr Tony even provided a valid bank account details into which he paid in the money.

You can't send money through courier service. It's not done. So your friend ought to have known from scratch that something was fishy

When dealing with registered entities, never pay money into a private account

Nigeria will never move forward with these kinda of mentality, everything has been reduced to APC Vs PDP.

It's common knowledge that in the absence of an actual picture, the closest a valuable picture that depicts the story is used instead. It happens everywhere, in saner climes, the source of the photo is usually quoted i.e the news could be about an earthquake in New York but a picture of an earthquake in Ohio will be used @ the caption will reflect underneath the picture to depict that

But most soft sell/quack blogs & some of our Nigerian posts don't follow such etiquette.

The initial news & what still remains is that money was found in a SOAK AWAY PIT, even the picture of APC twitter handle says SOAK AWAY PIT though a wrong picture. The media never said that, that was a picture of the recovered funds

This reminds me of the pastor that impregnated a minor, instead of the congregation to send him to the gallows, they left that & started talking about the miracles he had performed & how he had helped the poor.

Rather than ask serious questions/demands such as Were funds really recovered? Pictures of the soak away filled with cash or pictures of the cash being removed etc

We are here arguing technicalities!! this is the same reason why some of these folks will walk free in court at the very end

@hurting

You earn 40k a month & have painted a picture of a hard working man, you haven't rested on your oars just because there isn't any job neither are you lagging behind on daily basic needs

the lady on the other hand earns 80k, a job you helped her secure

The above combination is enough for marriage if she were serious.

My advice, let her go, you don't beg. when it comes to marriage, the journey is very far. How long will you continue to beg

If she can't stick with you thru thick & thin, then she isn't your wife material, notice I said "your" she could be a good wife material for someone who is rich or from a wealthy home!!

it's not your fault you don't have a job, keep living your life & making improvements to the best of your ability. The right lady who will fit your shoe & grow with you will come along

Lastly, your 7yrs is child's play when compared to 5yrs in marriage. So your 7yrs is inconsequential here. Thank God you didn't settle for her, I don't think she can withstand hard times, her eyes dey big things

Our department asked us to submit our CV and copy of other documents.I am a graduate who is done with the service year.

I cant deduce clear answers from Your reply, Young man, are you asking a generic question of what test/interview to expect as a fresh graduate or you are asking what test questions to expect at Bw offshore test/interview.

This thread is on BW OFfshore, did your department give a hint that they are sending your cv to bw offshore?

PS: If your enquiry was a generic one, then the test to expect will be centered on caliber of firm & what they are into. Most standard firms use SHL formats, while others sets their own questions to test your verbal, numerical reasoning skill etc

Then again the way an engineering firm will set their questions might be slightly or greatly different from how a research firm or IT firm will set their questions

I appreciate you for posting this piece here.

God said that people perish for lack of knowledge. Ignorance is the most expensive disease i would add. I have been a member of nairaland for 9 years and would plead with Seun to keep this topic on front page or create a banner as nairaland's contribution to the Nigeria's First Industrial Revolution which we believe Ajaokuta would usher Nigeria into.

I would also appreciate if we spread this post far and wide on all blogs, facebook pages, newspaper home, radio etc. The "economic cabals" need to know that Nigerian's are now aware and THERE IS NO BUSINESS AS USUAL!!!

I would appreciate if TV stations grant sessions or interviews so I can talk in-depth on the issues and particularly the way forward. I sincerely believe Ajaokua should be given to the original builders TPE Russia to complete and train our engineers to take over operations. If Nigeria had invited them the moment we realized our mistake in listening to the West, Solgas and Global Infrastructure episodes would not have happened.

I am presently consulting with stakeholders and shall be putting up a petition to this effect. I shall send you a private message once its up so you can help broadcast.

God bless you

hope you saw my suggestion!!

Hmm...

Let's see how this works out.

Ban everything - then everything becomes incredibly more expensive! Think about that for a second. The current Ban is pushing inflation to crazy levels already. How would you feel if you need to buy a used laptop at 1 million naira?

There are no easy solutions. But the current approach is worse!

Emefiele should take the following steps.

First, allow a modest devalution of the naira. ---- This should allow the foreign portfolio flows that we urgently need. It would bolster the government coffers and put an end to depletion of the foreign reserve

Pls what does devaluation of the naira mean, what does it entail & it's consequence

A layman's explanation will be appreciated. Thanks

And does it mean that a wife whose husband uses
terrible words on(jst like the o.p admitted he did) is also justified to slap the offending spouse as well

dealing with your colleagues or siblings is a different ball game when dealing with your spouse!!! There is no basis for comparison

Words from your spouse will hurt you more than words from your colleague. Hence different responses & action

I'm not an advocate for slapping or violence, my point remains, don't provoke an attack & you achieve that when you don't speak out of place.

It's not telemundo..... I have a very close friend....we had been friends for over 7 years before finally dating.... Was in the north serving while she was in Lagos... Law school.... She pulled a disappearance act on me and I caught her off guard ....in short....in fact she might be reading this.... When she realized that the game was up she travelled to zamfara to see me physically.... I did not believe she was in zamfara until I asked her to describe where she was.... On getting to my residence.... We chatted as friends but not as lovers...fast forward... She tried her best to pick up a quarrel with me which I resisted... To the extent of blocking the door on my way out .. I burst out laughing because it was unimaginable with her frame and weight around 40kg blocking a 6ft man weighing far more..
I laffed to the extent of peeing in my pants.... I calmly sat down and went out later.... On my way back she was drinking and smoking cos I lived in an hotel .... Thinking I would be angry.... I calmly told her if she's in love with cancer she should find a better space and not in the room... I stepped out... She put out the cigarette and joined me outside a few minutes later....we talked she gave excuses.....but I told her I didn't believe them all calmly.... After a few days she had to go back... In short we broke up later.... After a few months while chatting she confessed that she was actually with a guy in Ibadan! ..... We laughed over it.... We lost the relationship but I didn't loose my friend.... Till date.... All through I could have beaten her up...but I was seeing a sister and a friend in her.... Stop beating up women.... Be friends with your spouse don't turn marriage into a job...

I kinda of understand you, I'm not an advocate for violence but certain occasions, hiting someone will be justified.

There is a way you flog a child it shows love/correction & in another way it will become child abuse. You don't flog to inflict injuries or cause bodily harm so also you are not to beat up a woman as though you are dealing with another man, neither are you to hit with your might!!!

At the end of the day, it comes down to adopt the model that best rocks your boat. A lady that tells you she NEVER SAW HER DAD HIT THE MUM, will equally tell you when probed further that, SHE NEVER SAW HER MUM EMASCULATE/INSULT/CONDESCEND HER DAD.

for such a lady, she won't condone violence & will rarely do things that will call for a slap excerpt she ends up with a naturally occurring abusive man.

I still stand by this:IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SLAPPED, DON'T EMASCULATE/INSULT/CONDESCEND
Family / Re: I Made A Horrible Mistake With My Lovely Wife by harveyspec: 11:21am On Jan 30, 2016
Everyone is castigating the man for hitting her, no one is referring to what the lady said or did.

God made the male with enormous physical strength and the female with great verbal prowess. the lady couldnt control her God given verbal endowment likewise the man who couldnt control his. now the man is at fault. someone mentioned "walk away", havent we had cases where the lady gripped the man's shirt or blocked his way or did worse.

Guess what, after the slap, she shut up!!! ladies if you dont want to be slapped, control what comes out from your mouth. its that simple, though there are exceptions.

All these telemundo generation!!
see the effect of western civilization, can my mum tell my dad that she wants space? space from where? it will soon get to the time where nigerian women will tell their husband that before they come back from work, they want them out of the house

Besides there is nothing Nigerian about this guy, I have a cousin who was born in the US, he is over 30yrs & has never set foot in Nigeria. Will you call him a Nigerian? His ideologies, mentality & mindset is all American, so what makes him Nigerian? Because him papa na from naija?

We should learn to celebrate those we have groomed not those that was groomed by other countries

If Nigeria did not contribute to anyone's achievement or training, then they shouldn't take credit when they become stars!! That's why I don't agree with the statement "A lizard in Nigeria will not turn to an alligator in America"

We have so many nigerian lizards turned crocodile in Europe & America, you find them in sports, politics, education etc

these folks would never have become crocodile if they had remained in this ethno-religious bigoted tribalistic entity called Nigeria. They would have remained LIZARDS.

Some people here don't just understand African settings. they equate every thing with American ways of life. some are even given Suzie orman show example on how she will be poor bla bla bla.

The Girl in question was trained by somebody in the family, she was invested upon so that when the people that invested on her became tired, she inturn will help out that is African settings.....

When it comes to abroad, They all got student loans and grant that will see them through University and when they graduate, and start working, they will pay all that. so they will never depend on their parent for anything, That is why they don't give money to their parent or any thing. and their parent on the other hand were saving a pension fund that will see them through retirement. because their kids will not look after them, they are going to a nursing homes or retirement village with the money they saved.

So that girl did not train herself neither did she applied for a student loan grant. because I am sure such thing was not in Nigeria. so the money the parent should have saved for retirement was used on her which was investment.

So now that she is working and the mother was not, she should help.....
People should not come in here and start forming oyibo and start supporting the girl's action because it was wrong.

After all if you get a student grant you will have to pay when you are working, no matter what you are passing through financially, the people that facilitated those loan and grant will not listen to you till you start paying by instalment.

bros firstly, checkout famfa.com IT IS BOLDY WRITTEN "Famfa has never and will not post any position openings or job offers online, beware of this fraudulent activity"

Secondly, famfa & sapetro is too big to use ordinary gmail address as their correspondence and the message also did not leave a phone number or email for further enquiries

well, make una yarn us how una waka after the test

It might be a lil difficult if your company hasn't been deducting from your salary since 2013. Can you confirm if your company had deducted pension contributions from your salary?

If your company had deducted, you can write Pencom, your arrears would be paid and infact, Interest Penalty would also be paid.

Would you be willing to pay your own part of the arrears of 8% assuming your company hasn't been deducting from your salary since 2013?

They haven't been making deductions, it wasn't even stated in my terms of employment

Yes, I'm willing, now that they want to start, I don't mind paying 16% (8% for the present & 8% for the arrears)

but you know the issue is threat of being sacked!!!
