A series of earth tremors and loud sounds have been reported in a location in Kaduna State, northwestern Nigeria on Sunday.

SaharaReporters has received several distressed calls from the town alleging earth tremors but it has not been officially confirmed by authorities.

All efforts to reach Samuel Aruwan, spokesperson of Governor Nasir El-Rufai, for details have been unsuccessful.

The northern chapter of Christian association of Nigeria CAN has said that the eight people killed over alleged blasphemy at talata mafara area of zamfara state were not Christians.
The public relations Officer of the northern CAN, reverend John hayab, while briefing newsmen after the association's emergency meeting, which held in Jos, said CAN frowns at The Killing of any Nigerian under the guise of religion or whatever in the country.
He said '' We met over the killings going on in the northern Nigeria. We clearly understood that those killed in zamfara were not Christians. So the erroneous story going on in the social media claiming that those roasted were Christians should be corrected.
However he affirmed that as an organization; we frown at the killing of human beings in whatsoever guise. If they are criminals there are police. We should report them to the police to arrest them and not to set them ablaze.
There is no justification whatsoever for the shedding of blood of any citizen.

1- the church in Niger wasn't burned down. I hope we all know different between burning and vandalization. We all saw the aftermath of the riot, the instruments were broken and worshippers were pursued. Haba where is that done for God sake if not intentional. The Police in Katsina State has revealed it receives no fewer than 20 to 30 reports of rape of minors every month.
Salisu Agaisa, Police Public Relations Officer in the state, made this known while briefing newsmen in Katsina on Monday.

He said the command was concerned about the increasing rape cases.


“It is disheartening to note that most of the victims are underage girls who are hawkers.”

Mr. Agaisa said the rape resulted in the death of the victims in some cases while others were left with severe injuries.

He, therefore, urged the public to continue to assist the police with vital information about rapists and other criminals in the state.

The spokesman said the police was ready more than ever before to arrest and prosecute rapists to serve as deterrent to others.
