Do you believe those employed will ever visit this page again?

No one will tell you that he or she got the job through connection. It is safe to accept fate that you didn't make it to the Commission if you were not contacted/selected. Like what someone has earlier suggested here, you can as well visit the Human Resource unit to confirm if you are one of those selected.
This is true.

I enjoyed my time on this forum. Among the things I learnt is that, there are objective people out there.

It is still possible to call more people. Some of those selected might not be available.
With a clean heart, we are still hoping for the best.

I am equally happy for the successful candidates. I am also happy for us all for seeing the conclusion of this process.
May I ask about the story that said, all candidates who were asked to upload will be absorbed? Any idea?

Ermm:

Congratulations to the successful ones, the commission really tried and stick to their words, 93 people were called base on merit, 30 base on... 123 people got the job in all, meaning 23 slot were added from the initial plan of 100.

I am very happy for those who are successful.

I am also happy that finally decision is announced.

It is obvious that not everyone will scale through due to many reasons.

I still respect the commission and wish Nigerian power sector well.

Congratulations

Speculation upon speculation.. Nerc will call you, I pray ooo but we are tired of speculations.

I believe nerc can call, as they called to confirm attendance to interview. This was despite the mails. And even text messages of reminder.

Hoping for the best.

Update please guys. Has anyone been contacted?

Do you have any information?

I am positive that some people will spare some minutes to update the thread when there is any development.

My prayers remain that of success.

It seems there are people with vital information on this platform. It is only that they don't want make it public.
Now that the ball is in the NERC's court, assist and finalise. We still believe in your processes.

I pray we be among the successful. Ameen.

Are you trying to say you have give up or what?
Calm down, any moment from now the successful candidates will be contacted.

The reason why the recruitment was not concluded last month was a result of friction between federal character commission and the NERC.

FCC wanted slots and the NERC chairman was insisting on not giving them, so they withhold the process. At the end, he has to comply by giving them the slots.

The process is now on the DESK of NERC.

Any moment within this month is a most because the chairman will be retiring soon.

Cheers to those who have high hope and faith in the process 🍷🍷🍷

This your statement "any moment within this month ..." is not clear. Do you mean till when the Chairman retires that the process will be concluded?

At any rate, given slots to fcc means denying some people their places.

We still have faith in the process. And we are wishing for the best.

By the way, who have contacts with the fcc please smiley.

We shall succeed. Ameen.

Absolutely. It is good for them. As it shield them from undue pressure. But candidates are suffering from anxiety.

Exactly. Everything is now with the top level.
For me, the way they are able to manage the information flow successfully means their ability to have control on the exercise.

It is good for us. Ameen.

Yes, even me go chuck my people when I get in a position I can influence stuff...d only difference is, if I have 10 slots, I would absolutely reserve at least 6 for merit....Afterall if all of us turn to greedy pieces shyt that only care about friends & family...Not only would d system collapse eventually but also those people ignored & denied d chance are most likely going to turn on those enjoying if they see no hope....

While I agree that competence should play a role in determination of people's positions, I do not agree with you that this country is finished. Sadly yes, many things are politicised. But some segment of the country are still working as supposed, especially the private sector. For if everything is politicised, the country will stop functioning.

For this recruitment, I hope the Commission will notify us soon on the outcome. I pray that we succeed.

xenoo:
This country is finished. Imagine someone cannot get anything meaningful based on merit again. Every sector you go to, you will always meet square begs in round holes. Everything is now politicised. You must have a godfather or strong backing before one can get anything and not solely based on competence and Capacity. How can effectiveness and creativity be guaranteed by a novice or quack? No wonder everywhere is a mess. Banana Republic..

It is good to follow intellectuals discussing a matter of interest to them. As per the news of some people contacted, I heard that Nigerian Electricity Commission (spelt also NEC) contacted their candidates. So it may be the genuine news going round. People might easily replace nerc with nec.

All in all, we seem to all agree that the recruitment is not yet over.

While hoping for success, it will not be wrong to also plan for alternatives.

1lovetruth:

I know how the anticipation can induce anxiety bro, but I am more inclined to believe that people from politically exposed persons have been contacted. The minister of power's daughter was interviewed on the same day with us. People like that will be more anxious considering the uncertainty that would come with a new government. They would put pressure to get their candidates settled.

Candidates based on merit however, might likely be more immune to these uncertainties. I want to believe that it's actually a few that have been contacted, the vast majority might likely come after Sallah. All things been equal, what will be will be. There is always another day, another place, another chance, heck even another country grin, as far as one is alive

Please why are some people saying they’ve called applicants? What really is the truth
I am not sure why some are claiming that applicants were called. May be some people derived pleasure in creating scenarios.
I am confident that it is not over. And when the commission finalises, even the not very successful are supposed to get notified.
We shall be among the successful ones. Amen.

List of successful candidates is not yet released. While it is a good idea to make up our minds towards accepting the outcome, I am still confident some will get through based on merit. I pray to be among them.

They actually lack staff. I was reading a stat of their employees from their report of 2021, they had only 3 analyst I and 1 analyst II. That's just 4 mid level staff, and they've not done any employment since then, and have had a few retirements. They had 97 staff in manager Cadre as at then.

8 storey organisation with only 4 middle level staffs! That's too few to manage the affairs of the Commission. As @charlesu49 rightly pointed out, let's focus on our current life. We shall succeed.

But, I have been thinking about the tasks ahead of the new employees. This recruitment is about a year old. Does it mean all the jobs is waiting for the employees to come on board and do them?

Nope. Judging from comments here and based on what the country has turned into regarding recruitment. I have an experience or two in that regards

I understand your point as well as his point. But, the absence of enough information, leaves me with no option than to just believe.

If however, is a matter of belief, I prefer to believe with what I believe. Despite all odds, there is still hope for Nigeria. I hope somewhere sometime we will get things right.

If don't have that belief, I wouldn't have seek to contribute in the regulatory commission.
