shamsin6300:How about all the blood Mohammed shed?! How about the many verses in the Quran that ask the that the unbelievers be killed, or don't you read your Quran? The terrorists are the true Moslems, you my friend are a 'fake' Moslem |
rapid101:He should leave Barcelona and go where? Real Madrid or PSG or Juve? Del Piero, Totti, Scholars or Giggs that played all or almost all their lives in one club are any less than itchy-feet like Anelka or Ibtahimovic? So you mean Messi wouldn't perform in another team? That is absolute balderdash that! ![]() He is the highest goal scorer in Argentina... got to 3 finals in successive years ( though didn't win any) and even won the golden ball at the world cup. Should he have won one, I believe so, but such is football. Man City has the best team this year, but have been knocked out by a Tottenham. Something about quality is constancy and Lionel Messi is quality! |
rapid101:Seems like Ronaldo is always trying to prove himself. The greatest people don't try to prove themselves, the Lion never tries to prove itself... Claiming to be the best just because he is globetrotting seems like he has to constantly reassure himself. Ronaldo left Sporting Lisbon for Man U and then Madrid (biggest club in the world) because it was always a step up. He journey to Italy was because they had gotten tired of his antics and ushered him out-- the talk of a new challenge was a big fat lie. Since football is all about individual goals and titles won whilst injured, I rate Pele as the GOAT! |
The bad temper of the average Muslim was a reason to wonder as a child. About all my Muslim mates had horrible, violent tempers then. It's so bad that some of us called it the Muslim's anger (in Yoruba). There really isn't so much difference between Judaism and Islam. Both are essentially Middle Eastern religions that are based on rules on how to pee, poo, sit,wash... And breed intolerance, pride and a holier-than-thou attitude. It's important to understand that a man's works can never justify him before God-- never! Blood has to be shed to atone for Man's sins. If in the previous times animals were sacrificed as atonement for sin (and Islam and Christianity agree on this), what's then atoning for the sins of the Muslim? His works? Then what separates him from the Buddhist or Hindu and when did God ask us to stop animal sacrifice? But forgetting the brain racking, what is the fruit of Islam? I'm not talking about the sugarcoated message of peace. What is the spirit that drives it? You will see this spirit anywhere Islam has a stronghold. If Islam were peaceful, the Arab pennisula would be the best place to live, so will Northern Nigeria! |
Alexrayz:You my friend are a fool! |
cr7lomo:If it's about that, Messi has gotten to four finals ( not making excuses for him, just saying) |
If football were just about the players or 1 player alone, you wouldn't need a coach or tactics. 1 special player is no guarantee you will win anything |
cr7lomo:And he played how many minutes in the finals? |
Can Ronaldo score without service from the midfield?! I saw the match, Messi created 4 clear goal scoring chances and they only scored 1. This is a team sport, there is no Super hero anywhere |
CoolAmbience:It's not all about money to be honest. But common sense is needed, except you are very sure that's your path. If you are sure no wahala, time will always tell. You don't go about changing anything when you have not developed strength or girth, situations will overwhelm you! Have you read the parable of the 10 virgins...? ''it will not be enough for you, it will not be enough for them'' You have talked about China Achebe and Wole Soyinka... Their generation was a wonderful one-- they were in their 20s and were already renowned playrights, Colonels ( in the army), senators... Nzeogwu was 27 and masterminded a coup, 27! Why? It was just that generation, they were the ones equipped to fill the gap left by the British. It could have been wonderful still in the country except for bad governance. Now our young ones can not even dream anymore, they just have to make the best of every situation. Do you think Anthony Joshua will be where he is if he had grown up in Nigeria, or the many underprivileged nationalities doing well in the developed world? If someone has the chance to improve himself, let him go, he can always come back when he has |
CoolAmbience:I was a 'Nigeria-or-nothing' kinda person for as long as I can remember. I was begged for years on end by siblings to relocate, but I was naive, very naive! I have seen many promising, bright young Nigerians suffering because they lack opportunity. Their dreams dashed, their aspirations crushed. They now have to settle for whatever comes their way. There is nothing like 'one-man-army' in life. Your life is dependent on where you were born, the generation you were born and the family you were born into. I believe everybody should read Malcolm Gladwell's 'Outliers' to get the scales of their eyes! Do you know how much some Western trained specialists that come back to Nigeria charge or earn? As little as 4million per month to as much as 9million, depending on speciality. ( And that's possibly one hospital) About building the country, you have to understand timing. If you get ahead of yourself, you fail. If you miss the time, you fail. A man can prepare all his life for 4 years of destiny! That's akin to sharpening an axe for 4 hours and chopping down the tree in 30mins. Knowing what I know now, I can never advise anyone to stay back if he has the chance to travel out. He can always come back you know. He can always come back having acquired skills and built his capacity. By the way do you know how frustrating it is practising 'stone age' medicine in this country? A place where doing the basic test is an issue because of poverty. Please there is no one-man-army anywhere, you can't do better than the system you operate in! |
Reeses:My sister and her husband where Senior Registrars before my bro-in-law said, ' our mumu don do' and bullied my sister to go start all over again in the UK. My sister was looking at being a consultant in her front like this and developed cold feet, but he talked her into leaving. Though the system isn't perfect, when I asked him if life was better, he says, ' it's a hundred times better!' They have a fine house, free healthcare, free schooling (if you choose) and better pay! Ogaade, how much is 500?! He is a doctor and will easily make over 2 million in Naira just doing 40 hours a week ( soft work). If he is greedy for more, he can do more hours. Then there is the chance of moving to the new world ( Canada and Australia) where you even work less and earn more. If staying in Nigeria is your destiny, and you are sure, stay back, but if you are not, you will curse the day you decided to! Have you not noticed that every third world country is ruled by its citizens that had foreign exposure-- from the freed slaves in Liberia that recolonised the natives, to the founding fathers of our democracy. Ogaade, don't dull! |
CoolAmbience:My dad did the same in the 70s... Got his PHD in record time, was begged to stay back by the authorities, but came back all the same ( besides Nigeria was doing ok then). 40 years after my sister asked him if he regretted doing so, which he bluntly replied, 'yes!' All his kids are making the second missionary journey back there again now sha, and trying to revamp the years a failed system has wasted! Will this be the same story for everybody? Of course not! However if you aren't sure, follow the common sensical knowledge that you can't do better better than the system in which you operate. Place geniuses in a failed system, and they will fail. Place average people in a good one and they will succeed. |
Akuruoulo:Kanye West's mother died where? Nigeria? Any surgery where you go under (anaesthesia) is risky-- just from anaesthesia alone. She was told the possible outcomes but signed up for it. Or you think the cosmetic surgeons in Beverly Hills don't have their own stories |
Best1708:Your boyfriend doesn't have a penis, he is still carrying a 'kokoro'. Nigga needs to grow up! My family members that try that rubbish with me ![]() |
A sister married without involving any of us-- I mean nobody! My parents almost died when they heard. ( They had been planning on how to edge out the poor guy, who had stayed with her through thick and thin). But they have calmed down now, and she and her husband are doing well-- it's been over 10 years. Though I didn't support it, (I felt he stole her then) but bruva, it's your life! Person wey no get parent no go marry? I'm currently dating a woman 3 years older, thankfully my mum likes her, but if she didn't, that's her business, I'm not marrying her (mum) She married her husband and has borne the consequences, I will marry mine and bear it too. People should be responsible for their actions abeg-- if you get burnt, you blame yourself and non other |

I think formal education is overrated-- and before you vilify me, I have done enough schooling as a medical doctor. While about 95% of kids are creative as 5 year olds, it drops drastically when they are 10, to just 5% at 40years. Look around you we have left the 'certificate' age and are now in the 'skill' age. I remember this small-time patent medicine seller making sales of 60k a day years back ( with maybe 30% in profits). I also know a mechanic who put his back into work and has made tons of money, with all his kids schooling abroad. He, while we were talking once, told me the greater risk is doing a salary job! ( I had tried to explain that business, although having good returns was risky) Imagine someone wasting 5-6 years in school then understanding afterwards he needs to learn a trade-- and I mean waste. But the question is are you sure you will thrive in business? If you are, maybe dropping out would be best for you. You could enroll for a part time course ( to massage your ego), continue without paying 'much' attention to it or just say ''Bleep' it, I'm done!" But the ball is in your court. This decision will make or break you. Many people wonder at how important university education is when they are done with NYSC however sha! In a place like the US, university education is not a must o, people here still carry it on their heads like gala and end up working horrible/ abusive jobs at a fraction of their true worth, just because of fear of the unknown. Even when you want to start off business, you are going to be advised by some to just work a bit ( which you might do), have some savings...bla bla... Before you know it you have done 30 years and it's time to retire-- is that all God made you for?! So because of formal education, most people don't even identify their 'peculiar' skills, which is the key to true freedom and wealth in life. You are just wired to think in a particular way, and as there are more like you, the employer can easily rubbish you and chose someone else. If you function at the level of your 'peculiar' skills and hone it, which you might do under your uncle, you should not be poor. The man with money will employ the graduate sha! |
[quote author=Uglymugg post=72830981]AGAIN, I NEVER SAID THAT ONLY CHRISTIAN NATIONS WERE ALLOWED TO PROSPER, AND I NEVER SAID THAT AMERICAN CHRISTIANS WERE WITHOUT SIN. YOU CAN GRAB LAND AND OWN SLAVES AND STILL BE A CHRISTIAN, IT WILL NOT CHANGE ANYTHING. Land grabbing, slave trade and Free Masonry is the Christian foundation? ![]() |
bedspread:I don't care if he has made peace with God or not--besides how do you know?! Religion should never be mixed with politics. What matters is quality leadership irrespective of religion or gender. So you mean to tell me if Fayose 'the rock' or Governor 'Ambothey' go rolling in front of church...say a prayer before a meeting, they are returning their states to God and deserve our support?! Come on! |
bedspread:'Grab them by the pussy' is returning Americans to God? ![]() No wonder Buhari is our president and Atiku might be the next. What a waste! |
Uglymugg:Dude, why so sensitive!!! ![]() I'm a Christian FYI, but not a religiously myopic person. We don't have to be Christian to have a functional country. Looking around you and see for yourself. Besides the 'Chrsitian' foundation of America was based on slavery and land-grabbing from the Red Indians-- or you think George Washington et al where Deeper Life members?! |
Uglymugg:And China also has a Christian foundation? Dey dia...mstchew!!! |
It's only a FOOLISH doctor that will sit down and mind all these policies. Every doctor that can, should just leave this country-- earn good pay commensurate with your labour. Even Ghana (small Ghana) will pay about double of what you earn here. If Nigeria will collapse, let it! Save yourself!!! |
GenOrumov:in the 1970s the dollar was at most equal to the naira. izz nor maggi, love! |
GAZZUZZ:Thank you sir |
Could you answer my question sir- about the audi TT? Thank you very much |
Oga 'Gassuss,'please whats your take on a first generation audi TT? A good car as a daily driver or a money pit? |
The story sucks! If the man really fought back when outnumbered as the robber claimed then he wasn't brave but stoooooopid! What foolish pride? Disarming a man is risky business, even seasoned martial artists say this. If the story is true o, he died for nothing! |
This same car was sold-off by you a while back? What's the story? |
staymore:It could have been abruptio placenta, it could have been placenta previa. No doctor in private practice likes taking cases that will go south! Moreso you weren't booked with him. If anything happens patients will never understand it wasn't the doctors fault. Still smarting remembering a sufferer of polio attribute her paralysis (in both legs) to the antimalarial injection she had- and she said this on national TV (WWTBAM). Let's thank God your wife survived |
