Pierocash:Don't mind the jokers. Nigeria is a condemned country, and we really need strategic, hands-on, no-nonsense leaders to cure madness with madness. It is not by having good intentions. It is by proactively setting guardrails against deviant behaviours by those supposed to implement the 'good intentions'. These miscreants would soon leave the Fulani terrorists they are supposed to tackle in the bush to be searching vehicles on Ogui Road or Independence Layout, looking for Yahoo Boys, petty burglars, or settling civil disputes. Same way the useless police operates. They will leave high priority violent crimes to be searching the pockets and phones of regular road users in busy streets. |
Another ag8adorian saying rubbish. |
OracleJay411:The "are you okay" question should be answered by yourself...After deep contemplation of your likely deficient reasoning faculties. Because only a 'not okay' bystander would demand accountability in the matter of a thief accounting for stolen loot to a bigger (incumbent) thief. What exactly is in it for the common man including you? Nothing. So why purport to 'know law' more than yourself.... Useless the-more-you-look-the-less-you-see rules written and implemented selectively by criminals for their own selfish interests? Some of you need help. |
QuinQ:If India, a de facto Nuclear Power and an almost $4 trillion (GDP) economy, is a 3rd World Country, then what is Nigeria? Certainly, Nigeria and India cannot be in the same 'world'. Let's start from there. We need to have shame as shithole dwellers and 'mind our grammar' most times. How blind, crippled, deaf and dumb go dey call K Leg disabled? |
SonOfDSoil01:So you're depending on your useless governors to write rubbish results for you. Just wait until then. I used the term "average SE or SS person" on the street, not disreputable political peanut scrapers like yourself who depend on governors to rig elections. The joke is on you. |
aswani:You're funny. Amaechi is merely the backup candidate in case Obi declines or fails to reach a deal before the deadline. Atiku has not recovered from his deadly mistake of choosing an electorally worthless Okowa as VP when he could have locked down Obi much earlier when the opportunity was open. He is a lot wiser now. |
ComeComing:You dey mind those people? I always feel like smacking anyone who says that rubbish. What's the business of any average SE or SS person with Tinubu's presidency? Southern presidency indeed. |
opes:I don't understand this kind of thinking. So if they don't vote for an Atiku/Obi ticket in the SE and SS, who would they vote for? Tinubu? Explain abeg. |
bigpicture001:Every embassy has an annual budget, and the ambassador runs that budget. So that alone explains a lot. |
Goodmarlian:Who exactly would launch the so-called breakup? Certainly, the rest of the country except the South West has had enough of Tinubu and his offensive Yoruba jesters littering everywhere and gloating all over the place, and can't wait to get rid of them, even if it means another northerner would take over. |
slivertongue:It's disgusting and embarrassing to be honest. The way the APC has gone so low is shocking. Same way Buhari rewarded characters like Buratai with ambassadorship after an atrocious spell as COAS, and now an INEC Chairman is 'rewarded' with an ambassadorial posting after almost a decade in office. Who does that? We can't continue with this useless administration. Whether Trump, Putin, natural causes, spiritual forces, or even mutinous elements..... Something has to intervene to rescue this country. |
Of course. Mostly from Fulani elements within the Armed Forces. The Fulani, no matter how educated, highly placed or 'enlihhtened' is more loyal to his ethnic group/ jihadi agenda than any useless Naijeria patriotism. If an independent audit of the Army's armoury / munition inventory is carried out, I'm sure it would reveal some eye watering truths. What a mess of a country. |
jmoore:God forbid, but I keep saying it that it is better to attempt to escape at all cost at the scene than to follow them to the middle of nowhere. If they want to kill you let them kill you there on the road. God forbids o. |
Why is the 'falsely' in inverted commas on the front page. Does it mean that the moderator is not convinced that it is indeed a false accusation? |
In a sense, yes. But I think it has more to do with lack of actual universal basic education (or lack of its enforcement). That's the real issue. And that's why I think Peter Obi prioritises education a great deal. If you're truly thinking long term then there is nothing more significant and impactful than it - for security, for the economy and for social order. Imagine the hordes of almajiri children in the North and their counterparts in the South at least have the benefit of basic and compulsory primary and secondary/vocational education - enforced as a matter of life and death. Nigeria would turn the corner in the next 20-30 years. But since that's not happening, I'm afraid things will get a lot worse in the future. God forbid. |
mrvitalis:Resorting to back and forth brickbatting would trivialize this very serious and extremely painful matter. No need. I have said what I said. |
mrvitalis:You're not much better than Holocaust deniers if you keep lying to yourself about these things. Nnamdi Kanu, Simon Ekpa and the other irritants they spawned are godforsaken monsters who have destroyed Igbo land with their nonsense. I feel ashamed how Igbos have somehow entertained these monsters, especially Kanu, and gradually turned them into 'heros' (God forbid). We have to call a spade a spade. Even if you want to seriously carry out a secession agenda, this is not how to do it. Is there a legitimate marginalization grouse? Yes. But any movement for a so-called 'Biafra' cannot be championed by nonentities and vagabonds from nowhere like Nnamdi Kanu and his minions. There has to be some sort of well organized movement with proper leverage - with a solid intellectual and diplomatic wing to which the militant wing must be completely subordinate. We can't have this haphazard gang of deranged terrorists wreaking havoc on their own people in the guise of fighting for liberation. As you can see, the real enemies of Ndigbo cannot believe their luck because they don't even have to lift a finger to undermine the Igbos they loathe. They must even be entertained seeing the Igbos undermine themselves. The Igbos need to take a deeeeeeeeep breath, engage in prolonged self reflection, and then conduct a painful self-surgery (without anesthesia) in order to lay the foundations of a rebirth. And the likes of Nnamdi Kanu should have no place in this process. |
Ntoor to him. Very stupid guy. It's one thing to have an attitude as part of the 'bad boy' persona, but there needs to be a method to your madness, otherwise you'll end up in the gutter. |
This annoying thing and his yoruba brother in Aso Rock would soon be hastily flushed out of the public space in due course. Bunch of irritants. |
Mumus. Let us hear it from the US government directly. Only a fool would believe any rubbish released via Nigerian shithole government. |
LibertyRep:Anything, even Bello Turji, is better than Tinubu, as far as the rest of the country (other than the so-called south west) is concerned. You really have no idea. We don't care. We have had enough of this mgbati mgbayen awalokan madness. |
Interesting. Is this town's name the origin of the colloquial 'ogume' used widely to describe protective juju? |
We know that he made deals with every devil in Nigeria to be smuggled into Aso Rock. Let us see the magic he wants to do to come back in 2027...if he makes it to 2027. |
There is effectively no difference between Hausa Muslims and Fulani. Don't let anyone fool you. It is a waste of time. |
I see some comments emphasising the insufficiency of the budget. Agreed, but you can't just throw money at problems and expect them to go away. Nigeria has a competence problem....and an accountability and transparency problem. These are the core issues, and financial inadequacy is the very least of it. Quadruple this defence budget and what you will get is more generals now affording to buy their own private jets and even more mansions in Nigeria and abroad. And of course maintaining a bigger harem of an ever increasing number of supple breasted, nubile Nigerian beauties. In other words, increasing the defence budget would merely lead to a proportional increase in embezzlement, mismanagement and appetite for misappropriation by the lousy characters involved in the disbursement and implementation of the budget. Not to mention that there is also a likelihood that a sizable portion of the budget will go to directly or indirectly funding the terrorists and bandits in question: the WW2 era weapons and accessories the military manages to buy from the allocated budget will end up in the hands of the terrorists - either via cowardly abandonment during ambushes or encounters between the terrorists and the military, or by direct reallocation by compromised elements within the military. As it stands now, it is a hopeless case. There is no practicable solution. The only thing that will work is to outsource the task to either foreign mercenaries or to foreign powers such as the US. The Nigerian military as currently constituted is a totally lost cause, a drain pipe and a completely useless dissipation of time, energy, and resources. |
DeOTR:Typical amala and ewedu h-intellectual. Which specific countries? |
That would actually be a good development on many fronts. It would lead to consequences that would help reset everybody's brain. |

attaché by force. Can’t you stand alone without mentioning SS? They don’t play the politic of hate like you bitter people. Come 2027, Tinubu will get more votes from the SS, their governors are all in APC and they will all work for Tinubu, so you can keep your 5% vote after all, Apc have been winning the presidential election since 2015 without your inconsequential votes😂😂
