Family / Re: My Wife's Sudden Change After Childbirth is driving me nuts! by helen4(f): 8:55pm On Sep 05, 2023
thesilentman:
My blood is burning now as I write. My wife has now completely changed for bad, a few days after our second child.

An erstwhile submissive woman that i thought i had tamed for life has now become a thorn in the flesh to me. I just parted with over 300k unplanned fund for her C.S. I thought she'd be more respectful to me now but no,she has changed completely!

She dares me to do my worst, she cries over small issues that i wonder if it's witchcraft.Or she thinks I can't quit cos she's got two boys for me? The mind boggles. Am just mad and gobsmacked at the same time as all my Red pill O.T have failed and am even considering divorce right now.

I'm at a bar drinking my sorry ass away, brainstorming the best option for me. What could be outta place?

I need candid advice,folks.

Have you ever thought of what she's going through mentally?
Is she sound emotionally?
Do you know some women go into post partum depression?
Is she having enough support at home regarding nursing the baby?
Before you conclude that she's going haywire, think properly sir. All she may need is extra hands to support her, Someone tell her that she's doing great regardless. Nursing a baby can be overwhelming sir. Please stay calm and support your wife. There's no perfect woman or home anywhere. Work with what you have to get what you want.

Even when you have the opportunity to get to an interview, the level of disrespect is so much in teaching profession. So, 2021 December I and the kids relocated to hubby's at Abeokuta. Initially I was against it because that means leaving my stable job to an unknown. After series of arguments, I gave in. Hmm, long story short I have been jobless since then. Why? No job in Abeokuta and if you manage to get any, the pay is ridiculous. Last week I went for two interviews spending 1k each for tfare alone. The money quoted was 30k gross pay. Right now I am open to factory work self. What is the essence of years of experience and the certificate one owns if they can't fetch me money.

This is unprofessional and unethical. How can a sane human being call a child something else aside human being. It is wrong to call a child names not to talk of equating the child to animals or inanimate objects. See, teaching profession is not for everyone. If you can't unlearn and relearn all these old ways of teaching and running schools I bet there won't be any left. That is why new generation schools spring forth here and there in the name of Montessori and guess what? They're making their money because CHILD PROTECTION POLICY is in place. You can handle anyone's child the way you like. TEACHERS WAKE UP!!!! BE PROFESSIONAL!!!!!!.
This is verbal abuse biko.

In the rural areas of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), corpses are being transported to or from the morgue on motorcycles.

Since many can’t afford paying a car to transport the dead person’s body back to his village for proper burial, many end up by hiring a motorcycle to do the job.

The bikers must move to a distance of nearly 400 km, with a corpse on the back. Some poor families are forced to adopt this technique.

The lifeless body is wrapped in a blanket, supported on both sides by tree branches attached to a motorcycle.

Wtf? But how? This is a poorly executed report. Give us full information nah angry

Let me help you undecided

A Sydney socialite has opened up about her life and death battle after malaria left her so sick she needed both feet amputated.

Stephenie Rodriguez, 52, endured an 18-month nightmare when she contracted cerebral malaria from a mosquito bite in Lagos, Nigeria.

The single mother and digital entrepreneur was speaking at a business gathering of travel executives who invited her for a photo shoot next to a pool of stagnant water.

It was there that Ms Rodriguez believes she was bitten three times by a mosquito on her left ankle, reported The Sydney Morning Herald.

During her trip to West Africa she had conscientiously doused herself in insect repellant, after she suffered a bad reaction from an anti-malarial drug in the past.

Days later after flying to India, Ms Rodriguez began to feel tired and exhausted - something she described as 'out of character', but put down to 'compound jet-lag'.

Her next stop was Boston, it was Ms Rodriguez' first time in the US, but her trip was abruptly cut short when she was rushed to hospital after struggling to eat and drink.

An infectious diseases specialist confirmed Ms Rodriguez, had cerebral Malaria just twenty hours later, but by then she had fallen into a coma.

Doctors gave Ms Rodriguez a two per cent chance of survival after Artesunate - a drug used to treat severe malaria - sent her into septic shock and organ failure.

In a last ditch effort to save her life doctors used vasopressor drugs to redirect blood flow from her limbs to her vital organs.

'It was the last trick in the bag, and they cautioned my family that if I survived, there would be collateral damage,' she said.

'The vasopressors robbed my feet and hands, the things furthest from my heart, of blood and like frostbite, the areas without blood and oxygen began to die.'

The drugs caused her feet and hands to blacken from necrosis and at one point she witnessed her own toe fall off into her hand.

'It was horrible, absolutely horrible. Completely unimaginable,' she said reflecting on the traumatic moment.

After being airlifted back to Australia, doctor's advised Ms Rodriguez would have to undergo an above the knee amputation along with several fingers

Horrified by the thought she held off on the procedure, instead undergoing multiple skin grafts and surgeries to see if her condition would improve.

Eventually, she had to have her remaining toes amputated and slowly came to the realisation she couldn't put it off any longer.

Wheelchair bound and unable to stand from unbearable pain, Ms Rodriguez underwent drastic surgery to have both feet amputated and replaced with above-ankle bilateral osseointegrated implants and mechanical feet.

'It's bizarre, but I had to cut my feet off to walk again,' she said.

Attached to the ends of each rod via an allen key are a pair of prosthetic feet which now allow Ms Rodriguez to move freely again.

Thirty six surgeries later, Ms Rodriguez is the first woman in Australia to receive the implants and mechanical feet, thanks to Australian professor, Munjed Al Muderis.

The Iraqi refugee who became a leading surgeon of robotic limbs convinced her that giving up her blackened dead feet was her only hope of walking again.

Following surgery and hours of painful rehabilitation Ms Rodriguez' celebrated a recent achievement of being able to walk in a pair of 4cm kitten heels again.

From Mosquito Bite In Nigeria To 36 Surgeries, Australian Shares Story

During the filming of The Passion of the Christ, Jim Caviezel (playing Jesus) lost 45 pounds, was struck by lightning, accidentally scourged with a whip twice, leaving a 14-inch scar, had his shoulder dislocated, and suffered from pneumonia and hypothermia from hanging mostly naked on a cross for several hours outside. His body was so stressed and exhausted from playing the role that he had to have 2 open heart surgeries after the production! The crucifixion scene alone took 5 weeks of the 2-month filming time.

The Passion of the Christ is the highest-grossing rated-R movie in the US, of all time, at $370.8M! Worldwide it grossed $611M. Most importantly, it reached many souls around the world. Mel Gibson paid $30M out of his own pocket for the production because no studio would take on the project, and Jim Caviezel was warned not to take the role of Jesus because it would ruin his career.

Today is Jim Caviezel’s birthday, and he’s 51 years old. He proudly proclaims his faith in Christ amidst the godlessness of Hollywood.
Thank God for people like him who will step out to do what might not sound “fun”, but it gets out the Word of God and the story of His salvation of mankind. Happy birthday, Jim Caviezel! #career #project #people #happybirthday #passionofchrist #christmas2021

Someone somewhere will say, I didn't achieve my aim this year. My wishlist is laying fallow. I can't count anything I've realized this year that is good. Am tired, am fed up. Nothing good is coming my way. Shhhhhhhhhhh! Guess what? Your greatest achievement is the life in you. Once there's life, there's hope. What you want to achieve might be delayed but you'll get there. Don't be too big to be grateful for that which you have. What are you grateful for? Say it out, say it loud.

Family / Is There Someone You Need To Forgive? by helen4(f): 8:34am On Dec 06, 2021
Your mental health and sound mind is your priority. Your happiness matters the most. Cut off all dangling excesses that makes you unhappy. I remember I was bitter with my aunt for years and whenever I heard her voice or even her name my heart and pulse race and I get angry all over again.
My ex fiance got another lady pregnant while I was I school thanks to my aunt. She made sure my relationship never succeeded ( story for another day). I had resentment towards for years until I got married. One day I sat down and asked myself, does it worth it? If he had not cheated on me with the help of my aunt I wouldn't have been beautifully married for ten years to my husband. I would have been stuck with a cheat and a liar. So one day, I went to her mall and told her why I was not happy with her and told her, I forgave her. So, somethings happen for a greater good. Forgive and set your mind free. Your mental health is too important.

Joke apart, discipline was a community thing. A stranger on the street will correct you for misbehaving, but now, we 21st century parents believe whoever corrects our child is their enemy. Where did we miss it? It started from, I don't want my child to experience what I experience. A lot of these kids nowadays are emotionally reckless. They don't know what values are, no emphaty, nothing, ungrateful and filled with entitlement mentality. As a teacher, I've seen too much rot to last a lifetime.

Health / Pathological Lying by helen4(f): 10:09am On Dec 04, 2021
What Is Pathological Lying?
‌Psychiatrists have recognized pathological lying as a type of behavior for hundreds of years. It’s also called “pseudologia fantastica” or “mythomania.” It isn’t listed as an official diagnosis in the psychiatric guidebook called the DSM-V. But it is a real and troubling condition.‌

Pathological liars often lie without any reason. Their lies are extensive and elaborate. The urge to lie is compulsive. They often can’t control the impulse to make up stories, even when this causes them harm. They may lose jobs and ruin relationships because of their lying.‌
Pathological lying usually starts when a person is in their teens. They continue the pattern for years. Their lying might become a problem that affects their relationships, career, and family.

Experts look for four main behaviors when trying to figure out if someone is a pathological liar:

Excessive lying.

Lying without good reason.

Long-term problem. Pathological lying happens for years. It begins when a person is young and continues indefinitely and in all areas of life. Their dishonesty might be the thing people remember most about them.

‌No other mental illness. A pathological liar might have other mental conditions such as depression or anxiety. But that isn’t the cause of their lying. Pathological lying is a condition, not a symptom of something else.
