It is no news that Nigerian education system is in a serious comatose state and needs urgent restructuring and rescue by an expert who knows how to do the magic. With an estimated 13.2 million children out of school, high illiteracy level, infrastructural deficit and decay, unqualified teachers, and inadequate instructional materials, to mention some of the challenges, we can clearly see the effect of decades of neglect that the education Nigerian education sector has suffered.
If appointed Minister/Commissioner of education, I am determined to turnaround the sector for the better. I have already made appreciable research progress in identifying the problems and it's needed solutions.
Nigeria is more or less still far away from our avowed goal of education for all the inhabitants of this vast country. We are still following the same old system which was introduced by the old Christian missionaries in the 16th Century to produce cheap clerks. Education of education seems to be on the breaking point. Everyone high and low can aspire for the highest place in the government if he or she is fit for it. If I become a Minister/Commissioner for Education, I would bring about many changes in the education pattern of the country.

First I would improve the lot of teachers. Teachers are the pivots on whom the whole structure of education revolves. If the teachers are unhappy they cannot give their best to the pupils under their charge. I shall, therefore, increase the salaries of all categories of teachers so that they have not to run here and there to supplement their income. Theirs is an honourable profession and it should be recognised as such in society. I shall see that their pay scales are in no way inferior to those who are working in other Ministries. That is also the only way in which we can attract talented young men to this profession. I am sure that a contented teacher would be a great asset to the country.
Secondly, I would change the present system of education. Undue importance to the examination shall have no place in my scheme of education. Promotions would be made on semester/termly system already in practice in Germany, U.S.A. and other European countries. At present the students waste their time the whole year round and then mug up a few questions and take the examination. These examinations are in no way a sure test of one’s ability. Credit is given to the power of cramming and in the selection of questions. In the semester system everyone shall have to study throughout the year.

Next, I will direct my attention to the entrance qualifications of would be teachers in the colleges of education and faculties of education vin our universities and ensure that the current Jamb cut off mark for education students is as same as their medical, engineering and humanities counterparts. With this, we will attract the best brains in our education system rather than the army of mediocre we are breeding now. Also, I will display my knowledge in ravaging the technical and agricultural education. Study of an art or craft would be made a compulsory subject in the school curriculum. Agriculture shall have precedence over other subjects in village schools. I am convinced that the salvation of the country lies in preparing our young men in arts and crafts so that when they grow up, they have not to run for jobs. They can start independent industries and earn a decent living. The question of unemployment among the educated young men would be solved.
Lastly I would try to raise the percentage of literacy in the country. It is a pity that hardly 15% of the inhabitants of this vast country are literate. I shall make primary education compulsory. I shall see that more schools are opened to accommodate the ever increasing number of pupils. I know that this is an ambitious programme and would need large sums of money. If I do not get the required sum of money from the minister incharge of finance, I shall resign.

Abimbola Augustine Omoseebi is a son of the soil from Omoseebi Ajetomobi Dynasty of Idiagba-tuntun Akure. I was born about 36 years ago to the present Ojomu of Ilekun land in Akure South local government area of Ondo State.
I attended St. Michael RCM primary school, Igboliki Akure and St. Michael's’ Catholic High School, Ijoka, Akure for my Primary and Secondary school Education respectively. I later proceeded to the prestigious premier University of Ibadan(Oscoed) for my first degree in English Language and Education. After graduation in the year 2008, I observed my youth service at Ajagun Comprehensive High School, Oke-Oro, Oro-Ago, Kwara State. Due to my quest for knowledge, I went further to advance my knowledge in the Faculty of Education, University of Ibadan Nigeria where I obtained Master of Education degree in English Language (2012) and presently, I have applied for my Doctorate degree (PhD).

After graduation, I had a stinch of teaching experience at Bammy College, Agbado-Oke Aro,Ogun State before proceeding for my youth service where I also taught English language and literature meritoriously. After youth service and my

For me as a law maker, I would work towards the welfare of the people of my constituency by creating a welfare package that addresses education, wealth creation through agribusiness/skills acquisitions, and youth and women empowerment among others.

2. Use participatory approach to ensure the planning design and implementation of my constituency projects through regular town hall meeting with the constituents.

3. Youth/women empowerment: This will be done through facilitating loan schemes to our trained youths, and women.

4. Sponsoring bills that will benefit the people of my constituency in the social and economic areas.

5. Regular awards of scholarships to the Brilliant but less privilege students across all strata of education in my constituency.

6. Distribution of Educational materials to pupils across the public primary schools in my constituency.

7. I shall promote quiz/debates and sporting activities among the youths of my constituency.

8. I shall sponsor bills on establishing functional education in Ondo state that will see to address the menace of unemployment among our teeming youths. This bills will enable our youths acquire relevant skills free of charge. I will achieve this by establishing 3 skills acquisition centers in 3 major locations of my constituency where profitable skills in agribusiness, networking, web and graphics designs, CCTV camera installations, Computer and phones repair, ATM maintenance, videography/photography, hairdressing, laundry tailoring/ fashion designing , barbing, event decorations, catering, among others will be learnt for free .

9. I will also establish free coaching centres for learners from the six wards of my constituency who are preparing for external exams such as JAMB/UTME, WAEC, NECO etc. with special concentration on English Language, Mathematics and other key subjects.

*WHY I STARTED RABBIT FARMING*

I am Ojogbon Abimbola Omoseebi Helenbims Global Rabbit Farms. I went into rabbitry because I was looking for alternative source of income when I wanted to apply for my PhD program 2 years ago. I realised what I would pay as school fees will be much and there would be no one to assist me with money.

To the extent that Every time I am reading on the internet , I read nothing apart from rabbit farming. So I equipped myself with adequate knowledge through YouTube videos, google search, nairaland and blogs. I started studying Kenya's system and God brought an article on nairaland to me where I dropped my Number and was added to "Rabbit Buzz". The wonderful people I met in the group made me filled with passion to start immediately with their daily expository knowledge, lectures and answers to questions. With this burning passion in me, I launched out to start rabbit farming business. Though, my madam still insists No� but I secretly paid a carpenter to construct a 6 room hutch for me. When I finished the hutch, I brought it home and ordered 2 Matured Does(One from Gvision in Ilorin) and 1 Buck. I started with these and after a month, I bought another Matured Doe from Abeokuta. Goga, opened my eyes to wide opportunities in rabbitry while Mr. Toyese succeeded in teaching me some marketing strategies and viola, customers started booking for my rabbits.That was how I started making constant money and my wife was finally convinced to support me. I started buying more, breeding more and making more money till today.��

4. Have more outlets at convenient places in the town where frozen Rabbit meats will be sold.
5. Invest more in advertisements and make rabbit meats popular.

Some fraudulent rabbit farmers are selling it as Hyla and collecting ridiculous high amount from innocent buyers. They grow very fast and also okay for meat production because of more meat to bone ratio
4. Herlequin and Magpie are desirable breeds because of love for its colouration and fast growth rate but not as fast as earlier ones that I explained
5. Dutch is a small breed with a wonderful mothering instinct to care of its babies and has ability to start reproduction from 3months old but 4months is advised. It has ability to give birth to more than 10babies at once. Very prolific in nature-Not difficult to be pregnant. Its body is full of children� but the only disadvantage is small body size.
