At one point in time irish Americans were not considered white and got same treatment as almost blacks. At one point the people whose parents fought the British for American independence did not regard subsequent immigrants with same skin colour as one of them.
Even with major tribes there is rivalry. Ebonyi igbo is looked down on as inferior igbo from anambra and abia igbos.

Kogi and ilorin Yorubas are not considered yoruba enough by some. In ogun there is rivalry between yewa, awori and the likes. Some of these people dont intermarry.

In india there are over 200m Muslims and they no get levels due to discrimination. India also does caste system too. If you were born in the lower caste na there you go die put.

I used to hate tribalism and tribalists. I used to think it was something done by uneducated illiterates and something to be ashamed about.

....Until Buhari came to power and showed that tribalism was nothing to be ashamed about. Infact, it should be an official policy of anyone in power.

After Buhari, I don't think tribalism will ever end in Nigeria.

Currently, Tinubu is benefitting from it because nobody can justify any protest against him when the same people calling for anti-Tinubu protests failed to protest against their own son for 8 years as he wrecked the Nigerian economy.
