First, the possibility of a Muslim/Muslim ticket is a result of how Nigeria is configured - most populated region (north) is like 80% to 90% of Muslims. The south is like 60% to 70% Christians with the bulk of them in the SE/SS. So, it's not unreasonable that if a candidate of a major party comes from the south and he is a Muslim, he needs a running mate from the north who can get him enough votes to win. No reasonable person will expect him to pick a politically weak Christian from the north if he wants to defeat his opponent who is also from north. It doesn't make any sense.

As for your Christian/Christian ticket, it is highly unlikely we can find ourselves in such situation. The reason being that, 99.99% of presidential candidates of northern extraction will always be Muslim, and finding a Christian running mate from the south won't be any headache given that about 60% of southern population is Christian. And if a Christian emerges as a candidate from the South, he has a pool of Muslims to choose from as his running mate.

Most of those kicking against a Muslim/Muslim ticket are never going to vote for BAT/APC in any case. So, stop sulking!

Kindly note that views expressed in this post are of my personal view, after a careful study of historical facts and the current political situation in the country. Hence, I am strongly of the view that a vote for Peter Obi, without a formidable partnership across the length and breadth of Nigeria will be a waste for reasons known to political strategists, with political sagacity.

Firstly, apart from the latter day scheming to win over the youths of Nigeria, what has been Peter Obi's contributions to the development and empowerment of the youths even in Anambra state when he was a governor?

Secondly, Peter Obi has no tangible infrastructural achievement in Anambra apart from saving monies for another government to come in and eventually squandered.

Thirdly, Peter Obi, as stingy as he is, has no serious network of friends, true associates, whether in the political or business arena and certainly cannot spend money to win elections into the office of the President of Nigeria.

Fourthly, Peter Obi's adopted Party, Labour Party lacks the resources and national spread for Peter Obi, a man without a formidable structure across Nigeria or atleast in a particular region or zone, such like Atiku, Tinubu, Kwankwaso and even Wike can boast of across Nigeria.

Fifthly, the people that are even backing up Peter Obi are largely Southern youths and no visible strong political structure behind him. Who is really Peter Obi business, political or business associate in this country?

In the light of the above and many more, I will humbly advise Peter Obi to consider any way to form an alliance with Atiku or even Kwankwaso for the Vice Presidential position. Anything or move other than this, is self inflicted injury.

The APC national convention has come and gone, I still wonder what happened that Buhari was not able to anoint his preferred candidate.
Either Buhari was being maradonic with most of the aspirants or he was aloof and lost focus as usual. This is because I do not understand how people would open their clear eyes and throw away N100m, with some even losing their ministerial appointment for nothing.

Let us look at it this way. Buhari may have actually promised some folks that he would support their presidential ambition. I mean, what would have given the likes of Osinbajo, Amaechi, Ogbonnaya Onu, Emeka Ihejiuba, Tunde Barake, and Godwin Emefiele the impetus to dole out N100m if nothing was promised them?

Yemi Osinbajo would not naturally be bold enough to stand against Awiwaju Bola Tinubu if Buhari did not assure him of his support. Neither would Amaechi, Onu, Ihejiuba, Akpabio and other ministers just leave the office for a wild-goose chase except Buhari promised them. Now following the message from Emeka Ihejiuba, I can conjecture the following:

1. Buhari, in his characteristic forgetfulness may have assured these people individually of his support without recalling what he promised. He even touted a preferred candidate that was never revealed.

2. Buhari may have assured multiple people of his anointing oil that never existed or only existed in the figment of the Aso rock "cabal".

3. Buhari may have jettisoned the preferred candidate option as a result of the outcome of the PDP primaries.

4, The Fulani have conspired to hold on to power beyond 2023 albeit for another 8 years, courtesy of an Atiku presidency.

Be that as it may, the following are the big losers:

Tunde Bakare, he now knows that he has zero support for his hallucination and bad dreams of becoming Nigeria's president. I guess he would have enough time now to research his Bible to understand when the rapture will happen.

Yemi Osinbajo, I am sorry that Yemi did not make it. Obviously, no one gave him any chance except that his vociferous media team was harping on Buhari's support. Even the last-minute push through the religious angle could not save him. As it stands now, Yemi will now return to his chamber as he is totally and absolutely finished politically.

Former ministers Ogbonnaya Onu, Emeka Ihejiuba, Rotimi Amaechi (dan amala of Daura), and other ministers that resigned will be unemployed for the rest of this administration. I wonder if the total emoluments they got as ministers since joining Buhari's cabinet was up to N100m. If not, these ones have played their earnings as cha-cha or kalu-kalu without winning.

The likes of Emefiele and Jonathan Goodluck got saved by the whiskers. While the likes of Orji Kalu and Ngige would be smiling somewhere. I heard Ahmad Lawan has gone to beg Asiwaju.

I have said it and I will say it again, if I ever decide to join active politics, i pray to have a supporter like Kashim Shettima. He’s the most loyal person in Tinubu’s camp and he doesn’t take prisoners.

His Channels TV interview yesterday was a master stroke after the uneasiness that followed the Ogun state campaign. He said everything that needed to be said without caring about anybody’s feelings.

Lawan and others should take their L in peace. They can’t win so they should stop acting as spoilers. The party must come together to support the only candidate that has what it takes to confront and defeat Atiku.
